Christiopher Lee, besides contributing many narrations, did a song with them called Magic of a Wizard's Dream. He had a beautiful basso cantante voice. But when Elizabeth @The Charismatic Voice did a reaction it was the softer side of Fabio's voice that surprised her. His breathy head voice is a heavenly sound. 😉😉

And what a timing: they announced today that next spring the band will perform live with a full orchestra and a choir for the very first time ever in the band's history, in Milan, Italy! I live in Budapest, Hungary, so it's not that far - a must for me! I recommend their epics to listen, like Gargoyles Angels of Darkness, Heroes of the Waterfalls' Kingdom, Symphony of Enchanted Lands, Sacred Power of Raging Winds, The Mystic Prophecy of the Demonknight etc. Keep up with your great reactions! You should check out Dan Vasc. He's a Brazilian heavy metal singer, he's covered this song. He has a cover of Rhapsody's "dawn of victory" that sings along with Fabio. Andre matos is of the people he studied to learn his falsetto, he did a tribute to Andre when he died with angras "carry on". He has a wide range both in notes and styles
That was filmed in Montreal and Quebec City! I was fortunate enough to be at the MTL show, and it was one of the best performances I've seen in decades of attending metal shows! That Rhapsody lineup was the best one!

My favorite band, I had the privilege of meeting them in person and seeing them play live, they are very friendly, approachable and they also know a lot about culture and spirituality, and they are just as nerdy about everything related to geek as I am. Fabio is among the top 5 metal vocalists of all time.
Fabio Lione, as current head singer of brazilian band Angra, has one of the most iconic interpretations of the song "Carry On", originally immortalized in Andre Mattos's legendary voice. As Lione couldn't reach the same high notes as Andre, he cleverly used the whristle technique and gave it his own sauce.

I heard their song 'Warrior of Ice' when I was school, and it became the track that switched me from indie and rock to metal. I had the please of seeing them out on their Farewell Tour, it was one of the greatest performances I had seen. I saw them twice back in these days and both shows were exactly like this one. There were times when we were louder than the band. There's no people who were brought there or went out of curiosity. It was all Rhapsody fans giving 100 percent nonstop the entire show and for like half an hour after the show was over singing together in the parking lot.
Imagine if Fabio actually took care of his voice and himself. He doesn't warm up, smokes quite a lot, doesn't exercise.. He simply has a gift and uses it to the fullest. I'm a huge fan of his, and he just reached his peak performance with Angra in their last album. Suggest reacting to Ride Into the Storm, by Angra. That's the best performance by Fabio with Angra by a lot, and there's also a tribute to André Matos in that same videoclip.

Incredible band! If you liked him, you need to hear the Colombian band Kraken and listen to Elkin Ramírez. Vestido de cristal is one of the band's most popular songs and his vocals are amazing.
Hey! I'm a light tenor like Fabio is, even if it doesn't sound much like opera, part of his technique definitely is. Besides you can hear Fabio sing with his full voice in other songs, the point is that Rhapsody songs create a lot of stress on the vocals that it will be risky to keep a full "chest" voice all the time, and a brighter and more agile vocal approach fits better these songs.

You should try to analyze a band called "Myrath" from Tunisia, a Oriental Power Metal one which even Fabio Lione said they are very innovative because the arabic influences on the melodies. I would suggest listening the live version of Dance (Live in Carthage) :)
I remember back in the early 2000's , this band was on top worldwide in the niche metal world due to mastering this new sound. Money and in-fighting made the two creative minds separate, the lead guitarist and the keyboard player. Sadly, nothing incredible, in my opinion, came out from both of them after that separation. I think every power metal fan can agree that Rhapsody produced the most iconic saga of records to date: The Emerald sword saga. I think it would be be great to check out Symphony of Enchanted Lands, the epic 13 minutes closer of the first album of the saga. It has narration, instrumental parts and many interesting vocal techniques, showing most of Rhapsody's colors.
You should have a look at La Vita Fugge by Vision Divine as well. There's a brilliant sustained note in that one and Michele Luppi is a fantastic singer all round.

Por isso o apelidaram de mago.

You should try to analyze a band called "Myrath" from Tunisia, a Oriental Power Metal one which even Fabio Lione said they are very innovative because the arabic influences on the melodies. I would suggest listening the live version of Dance (Live in Carthage) :)
Fun fact: Fabio Lione had only about twelve singing lessons in his entire life. He learned how to sing basically just by doing it.

I remember back in the early 2000's , this band was on top worldwide in the niche metal world due to mastering this new sound. Money and in-fighting made the two creative minds separate, the lead guitarist and the keyboard player. Sadly, nothing incredible, in my opinion, came out from both of them after that separation. I think every power metal fan can agree that Rhapsody produced the most iconic saga of records to date: The Emerald sword saga. I think it would be be great to check out Symphony of Enchanted Lands, the epic 13 minutes closer of the first album of the saga. It has narration, instrumental parts and many interesting vocal techniques, showing most of Rhapsody's colors.

Imperial Age is another group that's talented in this sub genre.
You should have a look at La Vita Fugge by Vision Divine as well. There's a brilliant sustained note in that one and Michele Luppi is a fantastic singer all round.

You should hear the new song and album Cycles of Pain, Fabio Lione now sings for Angra, and in my opinion its his best work as a singer.
