The process is very simple but it's important to do everything correctly to avoid issues later. All settings can be reconfigured later in the PS5 settings.

Simplified version
1. Plug power cable in like a charging your phone.
2. Plug a hdmi cable in your ps5, then into a tv or a monitor.
3. Plug your monitor/tv power supply in.
4. Turn on tv/monitor and go to your hdmi signal.
5. Plug in your controllers and press the play station logo and your ready to play.
(Note you have to download stuff before you can use stuff.)
The written instructions come with the PS5. This video provides visuals to those who prefer them.

i have a qestion i am buying a ps5 and i have a sony tv that supports hdmi but it only has input hdmi 1 and hdmi 2 but not 3 so will it still work?

Mine in the video is not. You don’t need a a smart tv and as for chrome cast, the controller can be connected to it but not the PS5 as far as I know.
whicc monitor should i buy? cuz I saw many kinds of monitor that hit the 4k but many of them has a diffrent fps and hz so which one should i buy?
I mean it's up to you. Look at the specs on the PS5 and see what you can get closest to the best options in your price range.
I dunno if you'll see this but, if I'm using an older monitor (not a TV) that does not natively support HDMI, can I just use an HDMI adapter that I normally use to connect with my PC? Or do I have to use the HDMI cable that comes with the PS5 otherwise it won't work?
You can try it but I can’t say for sure if it will work. I had one with the PS4 and it didn’t work for me but others used them and it did.
Do you also have to plug the monitor into the wall socket or only the HDMI in the monitor?
You need to plug both the monitor and the PS5 to a wall socket and you plug the HDMI cable into the Monitor as well.
But will the game pop up u put the disc in it
I've been using a old Logitech speakers for my ps4 pro using the toslink cable as i hooked up to the monitor. Now the ps5 doesnt have any optical output. I dont want to buy another speakers, do u think a hdmi splitter with toslink out will work?
I'm not sure to be honest the system is so new it's hard to tell.

It will work and just plug the hdmi to the tv and PS5. Doesn’t matter which you turn on first. As for other cables that is your choice, it doesn’t have anything to do with the PS5

so.....the ps5 has a hdmi 2.1 cable....can you just plug it into the hdmi port on your monitor? does that affect frame rate in terms of game or does it affect the quality?
As far as I know you can plug it to any HDMI port as it's backwards compatible so even if your tv/monitor doesn't have an HDMI 2.1 port you can still connect it. If your HDMI port isn't 2.1 then you won't get optimal performance in situations where the 2.1 would be able to produce.
DHTV do you reckon its like a really noticeable difference for a casual gamer like me? Or should I definitely look into spending the extra money into getting a 4k monitor with hdmi 2.1?

I mean it’s about 5-6 feet I think. You have to measure how much you need.
I’ve been bought one and, having never used a game console of any kind, I’m very daunted about how it works. It arrives tomorrow and I’ve got mixed feelings about it. It does seem complicated.
Don't worry about it. It's very simple with a small learning curve. Once it's connected it guides you along with on screen info. Just put in a game and get started, Google any questions or feel free to ask and I can help you out.

Is a TV as good as a gaming monitor for the ps5?I own a 4k Sony bravia TV but I'm not sure if I should switch to monitor when I get a ps5
To be honest I’m not that technical when it comes to gaming. For me I find my tv better but I don’t have a dedicated gaming monitor. Best bet, research both models you might use and compare.

It fits in any HDMI port the tv I use here is a super old near 15--20 year old tv and works fine. You just limited to your tv and HDMI port capabilities. PS5 can play scaled down to 720p so although you can push 4K it's not a must.

Not really any specific. Depends on your price point. I like OLED or QLED in general but any 4K will be nice. Make sure if you want to stay somewhat future proof you find one that supports HDMI 2.1

As from what I understand yes. PS5 and XBox Series X come with an HDMI 2.1 cable but aren't required and you saw in this video that a near 15 year old or older TV works just fine. You just won't be able to take advantage of the higher frame rates and resolution that 2.1 ports are capable of.

Is there an hdmi to displayport converter capable of 144hz so I can get 120hz on my monitor. It only supports 60hz on hdmi port.

What's the maximum resolution of your TV that you are using in this video?
This tv is terrible it was all I could get in the shot for this video. I'm switching to my monitor for future videos but the monitor is 1080P. When I am gaming I use a 4K Samsung TV though.
@@DHTV hi thanks for the reply, why I asked this recently I ordered 2k monitor suddenly they announced that PS5 won't support 2k it was a shocking news for me when I saw your video you where using a TV and it looked like 1080p or less but you plugged the HDMI to that TV PS5 supporting that TV why it doesn't support 2K monitor that sparked in my mind that's why clarified it with you have you tried to plug that PS5 on to the 2K Monitor if possible can you do a video regarding this. I have an hd 2018 samsung tv that my brother used to play x box on. Idk if a 2.1 hdmi can fit into it tho. It does have an hdmi slot somebody please help.
The fitting is the same so the cable will work you just won’t get the 2.1 advantage.

It does look good. Have a look at my latest video. I played a game on it. It's fine just runs at 720p. I even remote played it over to my laptop at 720 and it looked good.

Can you explain to me what is HDMI 2 (ARC)
Arc is audio return cable. It's supposed to give you one connection between your tv and your sound bar or receiver rather then having multiple cables. Only issue is a lot of TVs don't have this ability yet.

It works on most tvs. I haven’t come across any new tv that it didn’t.

Can you use a 1.4 hdmi cable instead of a 2.1 or 2.0, and did you use the 2.1 with that TV, and what is that TV .
The port is a standard HDMI port but I used the 2.1 cable. PS5 comes with the 2.1 cable so why use the 1.4? Not sure if it works but I assume it should. I'm still waiting for my PS5 games to test it out on my TV that has HDMI 2 but not sure yet. The monitor is a curved display by Samsung, I linked it in the top comment under the video.

As fas as I know you need wifi or you would need to download it on a USB stick from a computer that does have wifi somewhere. You then might be able to run the update that way but I haven't checked.

Not using this method. You can connect remotely. Have a look at my "how to connect ps5 to a computer video". iMacs don't have an HDMI in port so you can't use the cable like we did in this video.
You can buy an adapter for your Mac.
How long does it take if u update the software?
Different times for different versions and all depends on your internet speed.

Make sure you are on the correct input or source.

You can use an HDMI switch like this amzn.to/4aTxCbr to add more HDMI ports. I use it myself for my consoles as I have a lot of them connected at once.

Just choose one and make sure the source or input from the monitor or tv is on either 1 or 2
