I’m only ever able to hear the lower notes because the white noise from wherever I am zones out the high pitched noises, so I was surprised that this was the song they used.
If I recall, I actually got the chance to play a Smart Ball machine. I might record the music sometime. From what I remember, the music that the machine played was an 8-bit tune. It was catchy, though. I don’t remember if the song it played was “The Popcorn Song”, but it might have been. So the songs might be the same on both machines. In terms of technical hardware, though, this Giant Claw music is not in 8-bit form. The Smart Ball machine was made decades earlier than this machine, around the 1970’s or 1980’s, which explains why its soundboard was so primitive.
I just saw this UA-cam video. It appears that a different Smart Ball model plays a modified version of this theme. This Smart Ball model/music can be seen here: ua-cam.com/video/lbV0_e1nkcU/v-deo.html I think that I got to play an older model of the Smart Ball machine, that plays 8-bit music instead.
@@likeanyonecaresabouthandles The Giant and lots of other machines from smart industries are manufactured by a Taiwanese company called Feiloli. I think the song came from them because one of Feiloli's crane machines "Bonus Spin" plays this exact song. Not sure about smart ball, maybe Feiloli manufactured it but it was rebranded by smart industries for USA.
@@likeanyonecaresabouthandles I think Smart Ball was created in 1990. I believe this music was reproduced by Brian Schmidt. He did a lot of the early arcade games, includes some from Smart. (I also just won the 5,000 ticket ring for the first time on this game tonight!)
I record these in public. It was fairly quiet at the D&B at the time of recording. Only way to find the HD music from this would be if someone else ripped it from the machine's soundbox and posted it online, but people dont tend to care that much about arcade game music.
