for all u guys who think electronic is the same as dub-step your wrong
1 dub-step consists of usually remixes of songs.
2 only on some occasions u will hear some one singing in electronic, as in dub-step again usually a remix of a song with someone singing.
there are a few more reasons but im not getting into those.
and im not saying dub-step sucks because i like it just as much as the next guy im just putting this on here because ive seen some fighting on it.

MTREDHEADS2000 dubstep = 140 bpm halftime beats
MTREDHEADS2000 Dubstep typically has 140 bpm whilst edm typically has 128. I think that a difference like you said, is the lack of vocals, and how all the sounds are electronically generated (hence the name) but there are lots of other variables such as the heaviness of the drop and how it has a much darker and distorted sound.
+Break Of Dawn edm is more of a branch for electronic music, because if it is made electronically and can be danced to (i.e in a club, festival or at a party), then it's considered EDM.
