The ending of this episode makes me want to sing a song Spider Maul Spider Maul Running through the garbage halls This sure sounds like a myth Even for an angry sith Look out! Here comes tge Spider Maul! Is he mad? Listen boy He was made to sell toys Obi-wan cut him half His survival makes us laugh Oh sith! Run from the Spider Maul! In the prequel fight His death was a crime Like fan made rewrites He survived late in time Spider Maul Spider Maul Deranged Dathomiri Spider Maul Episode three, he’s ignored Mandalore is his reward To him, retcons are the final call Even when he's lost his balls You can't kill Spider Maul!
Wow! I can’t believe we're finally here! This whole Darth Maul storyline, aside from it's few flaws, is completely amazing and make me fell in love with Star Wars back when I was a kid!
@BrandontheAwesome This storyline is awesome and I'm glad it has been done. Darth Maul is a darksider, just like Darth Vader, he can survive fatal wounds that normal people couldn't. Cope.
This storyline is terrible and nobody wanted it exceot prequel haters. Yeah, well, this falls straight into "Yeah, this shouldn't be possible territory". Dude fell hundreds of feet, he should be a pancake. Cope.@@Awfultron
Unneccessary & forced. You are right, why should Savage care, he didnt grow up with Maul. Why would Yoda know maul through the force? He never sensed him before.
how did maul get off naboo? I'm fine with him using his rage to make the darkside keep him alive, but how did he get off naboo? did some random person shove him on to a garbage cruiser? was it Palpatine? did Palpatine find him crawling around Theed screaming in pain and just make some guards toss him in the trash?
@@BrandontheAwesome it's more just something went unexplained, we went through this to a smaller degree with vader getting back to his star destroyer from bespin. people were annoyed because it felt like he came up too quickly. but the special editions showed him getting back and everyone forgot about it. holes aren't always a bad thing, and i didn't even notice this hole until after it passed hitchock's fridge test.
@joshthenesnerd With something as concrete as Maul's death in TPM, holes don't get a freebie. When it makes much more sense for the bad guy to survive being a brain in a jar, then you have problems. They've never explained how Maul survived, and they most likely never will. And no, Disney Star Wars does not count because that isn't real Star Wars.
Brining Maul back was 100% a marketing tactic to promote TPM in 3D, as well as the awesome Plagueis book. He was everywhere, on every piece of SW merchandise, but the way he returned in TCW was clunky and lazy; ripping off a weird Infinities storyline. As Matt pointed out Savage didn't know him or care about him, and on top of that, why introduce Savage at all if he's just going to be immediately upstaged by Maul anyway? Having said that, one of the only multi-episode story arcs in the show I liked was Maul taking over all the big crime syndicates; I think that could've actually used more episodes.

Because there is no way Darth Maul could have survived that fall.

Ah, yes. One of the worst storylines in TCW.
Read Phantom Menances. That story is much more believeable than this garbage.

Chalk it up to bad writing, which this show is full of.
