An opaque artifact of an even more opaque live performance that occurred ten years ago. EDASI, the one-man Estonian experimentalist dabbling in all manner of noise esoterrorism, performed live at the Hobusepea Galerii on January 15, 2011, with the lineup listed below. Onlookers stood in their warm coats and watched as four entities beat away on cymbals, delay pedals, and guitar strings, like frustrated neighbors rapping on a locked door. Their first and third assaults were the most vicious, with volleys two and four offering more in the way of head-noddable rhythms and vocal coordination. Ultimately, though, these offerings were meant to be observed, and remain best enjoyed, in the order of their performance - the audience couldn’t skip around the songs, so why should you? Besides, aren’t you on this channel because you like scary music? As one commenter on the label’s blog wisely said: “Eks see reaalne elu ole ikka kordades hullem, kui mingisugused pildid/maalid/filmid”?
Digital tracks available from the artist. Physical artifacts were released on CD-R and later on cassette by Trash Can Dance, though they appear to be sold out. Label link is below in case I’m wrong.
