The irony of this is that Alicent is pregnant with Haelaena in this scene and the neglect of his children with Alicent is so strong that he didn't understand that he had a dreamer in his family.

Not neglect... his health started failing, he had dementia and leprosy, he started losing limbs, he started forgetting things like his wife's name. Also, it's kinda useless mentioning Helaena in this scene, as she was not even born. They'd only realize that she was a dreamer when the prophecies started coming true. Alicent and Aemond were in the room when she spoke about him losing his eye, but neither of them cared to listen to her at the time.

@@fortheloveofcats2462 he had that stuff for like one episode. In other episodes, he was sickly and rather imperfectly but capable of speaking, walking, yapping and he had some great stamina when he decided to scream in Aegon's face after his brother's eye was taken out. And he had the nerve to tell Aemond "look at me" after he had just lost an eye. He was really focused on building that legos set for himself. He called Rhaenyra his "only child" and Haelaena was spitting prophecies in the Driftmark episode where Viserys was capable of using his brain. You can argue about anything you like but to say that he didn't neglect his children is laughable. Just look at Aegon, we focused so much this season about how Viserys essentially ignored him for the most of his life. When Aegon called himself "the realms delight" which is a moniker for Rhaenyra used by Viserys and the people, it was to show that he knew Rhaenyra was loved by her father in the way he never was..
