evaluation bar can be very good. as soon as a viewer (me at least) see it spiking one way, I quickly try to find the move before anybody says anything etc. it's kind of a way of having those zen moments where you suddenly see everything.
I mean, no. The 7 year old isn't a 900 player. Dude entered in the tournament at a lower ELO than he really had. Secondly, the kid didn't save Levy's team from a loss. 5 losses in a row doesn't mean anything. So no, the kid is not the MVP. so many idiots with children bias. Kids can cheat too. Esp when dragged around with their dad.
I already lower my volume the moment a start a sub battle video because i know there will be some kind hysterical outburst from Levy in the first seconds of the video... everytime man eeeverytime
4:07 it said that black was winning because black maybe could have sacrificed knight on f2 and move other knight to e4 threatening queen. White would probably take on e4 to get queen out of danger and get another free knight AND develop his knight closer to the board. Unfortunately Queen can take rook on f2. White can't really do anything about it since nothing can protect the g 2 pawn. After queen take g2 pawn, queen can either take h3 pawn or bishop winning material after 2 sacrifices. This is just a theory after both sides blundered and I don't know anyone who trys to get into a this position.
I just wanna make 1 thing clear: Relating to the discussion at 1:05, there was no Eragon movie. Never got to production. Didn't happen. Decent book series though.
“Why does the eval bar give plus 1 here?” Often because that player is moving. The computer sees every option but considers the person making a decision to be in a better spot.
1:28:12 I knew the second he took with the f pawn that he was going to castle kingside, because I have the same rating. I thought it was a neat variation, and I may have to try it sometime... without hanging the bishop.
Why is it when I watch 1700s and under its like the player let their toddler take control of the game but when I play 1700s and under its like Hikaru in disguise?
In case you wanted to know the answer to your legal question, the wager of 20 subs would be considered an offer, even by email, but it would not be a binding contract. If you respond confirming that wager then you have formed a valid contract by accepting that offer. If you do not respond to the wager, then there would just be no contract since you never responded to the potential offer.
I kinda dont agree with the perception of the engine, For beginner players the engine is a better viewing experience because it could easily say " ah this position is better for x ". Especially for people with fast-paced gameplay history, it is just desirable to watch a stream with an eval bar. But it doesn't matter, if you do not want to have an eval bar, then it's fine, if you do it is also fine.
The eval bar takes grandmaster level play into consideration. It's a distracting viewer experience for me, and I'm a lower rated player. Someone makes a move and the eval bar shoots straight up to black's side and I'm just thinking, "Oh wow this is really good for black." . It's possible the Eval Bar is saying black is in a good position because of a mate in 1 but only if white fucks up their move. White takes their move and now the eval bar is even again. So the eval bar was never really saying a good position versus a bad position, but instead it was saying, "Black wins if white's an idiot." It's completely ignoring the rest of the position of the board, so no, it doesn't help evaluate that position for us. Once white moves, it's black's turn and all of a sudden, white is super far ahead now. It was never a good position in the first place. . The other option is that black is in a better position because of a variety of good moves... and black never does it. The eval bar is not saying if a position is good or bad but rather if the position is good for specific plays. Overall, sure, the position is good, but the position of the board changes each turn. All I see is a distraction as now I'm trying to figure out the good move and well, too late, position changed. . The eval bar is a pure distraction and a very misleading tool. It's only useful when both players are very skilled and play quickly, allowing us to adapt to the board state as they're constantly making moves. But even then, it's not terribly useful because the bar will be, for the most part, at 0.00.

Eval reads differently thank humans do.
It doesn't help someone who knows the game well.
That kept lowering my confidence
Eval predicts like 18 moves in the future. So sometimes it lowers but it does it accounting for a serie of moves that rarely happen
The eval doesnt consider how easy a position is to play. It just assumes you are a perfect player
That 7 year old, whoever was playing, was definitely underrated
At 1:05:00 they mention a book series with Eragon in it. It's called the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini and it's a great series.
