- I made a homemade incubator for an egg I found on the flood of Budgie Cage. I will try to keep this egg alive and hope it will see hatching in 18 days.
In this video, You will learn how to make an incubator using the STC-3028 temperature controller from eBay with a wiring diagram.

i can relate. i hand raised an african lovebird w/c was discarded by its parents about 2 months ago. didn't know it'll take a lot of work and patience but the little critter is now flying around the house and unquittingly nibbling on my ears all the time. it's quite a reward to see it healthy and flourishing although i'm pretty sure it's totally dependent on me for its survival w/c is quite a commitment.

This is the coolest invention. I feel sad since every time my 9yr old Budgie lays an egg, it never successfully hatches😭
Old birds can die from getting eggs stuck. You should ask your vet about getting her hCG injections which will stop her from laying eggs. It's not good for her. Mine died from prolapsed cloaca, because of egg laying. Vets are very bad at trying to fix prolapses.

Thank you for the useful information.. but I have a question. I have a female who ovulated, then after that it was time for her to hatch and then hatch the eggs. The chick came out of the egg. I think he lived for about two or three days and then suddenly disappeared.
I used to have King Quails that lay lots of fertile eggs and had a purchased incubator but after the quail hatch they are self sufficient but I had to keep the chicks warm till they grow feathers. I used small fish tanks with a similar heat lamp and temperature controller.
I have a pair that lays 8 eggs so far n she sits on them every day mostly I think I can skip this part but how long does it takes for her eggs to hatch ?

Hi Alen, thank you for the amazing video ❤ I'm a big fan of your channel. I have a situation where I need your help. One of my budgies laid eggs 2 weeks ago in a coconut out of which 2 were hatched but I had to move to a new place after those 2 babies hatched so I moved with everything including the cage and nest. After moving to the new place I saw that the coconut nest was too small for the eggs and one baby was already dead :( so I ordered a new nest box from Amazon and transferred the baby with other eggs into it. As soon as I did that, the mother abandoned the old nest and didn't care about the baby and eggs in the new nest box. I didn't know how to take care of the eggs but I'm hand feeding the baby from past 8 days using bird food formula. From past couple of days the parent budgies are trying to find another place to nest and are curious to enter the nest box where the baby is right now. I am afraid if the mother will hurt the baby because she abandoned it and I'm hand feeding it everyday. I tried to leave a message in the Discord chat about this situation so can you please let me know what I'm supposed to do? Do you think the mother will still care for that baby now that its grown, I have tried to let her go inside but I hear the baby crying as soon as she goes in the nest box. I think she is trying to hurt it. The baby is almost 2 weeks old now.

turning the egg should be done very often. The bulb can be any bulb for reptiles just to keep the right temperature. Water for babies is just for humidity. When they grow up and start drinking water should be changed daily.
