You're giving your cousin a beautiful sweater to love in years to come. I could imagine it being even more special to her if she knows you intended it to be for yourself but she is the one getting to wear it now. In cases where the kid looks up to you and maybe even wants to be a bit like you it can be so special for her to wear this. I know it would have been this way for me when I was a child and looking up to my 23y older aunt. The yarns you are using and combining are always looking so stunning when you knit your projects. Chelsea's choices as well ^^
lovely podcast! You shouldn't be worried about the fact the sweater for yourself and then gift it to someone else. I'm sure the recipient will be very happy anyway :) love you yarn choice for the Corran cardigan can't wait to see your progress on it ! happy knitting !
That red colour of Manchelopi is so gorgeous !!! Will really suit you ! Thanks again as always for sharing your honest thoughts about your projects, it's a shame you felt so much frustration with the Lento but a good thing you're feeling good at the thought of giving it away !
Thank you for the hot tip on Wooldreamers being less expensive in Europe. I just checked the prices on some websites and you are so right!! Yarn in the US is almost always more expensive. It’s WILD!
Marlene, I hear you! I also always thought of myself as an elf, but actually I am not. I was probably when I was twenty, but those days are gone and I am now more “mid-range” as you described it. 😂
You could always add a little hair bow or something for your cousine. This way you can gift her the sweater but at the same time have the feeling that you made something specifically for her :)
Your Lento will be such a special gift,🎉 You pronounced Spanish beautifully well! I got Mota for a friend recently when I went back home and was shocked at how affordable it is!( and will deffo invest in some in the future for me😅). You chose a lovely shade!
so sad that the sweater didn't come out the way you wanted, but I'm happy you'll be able to gift it! your blanket looks sooo cool! I haven't knitted a blanket before and now I might have to find one to cast on 😆 the advent calendar idea is such a great one! That's going to be so much fun! 😆 also that rusty colored yarn is BEAUTIFUL 😻😻
Over the years I’ve been knitting there have been a few garments that I’ve intended for me that I’ve ended up gifting because the finished sweater either didn’t fit or suit me. As gutting as it is I’m just happy that they go to a home where they will be loved and worn rather than sat gathering dust in my wardrobe. I’m sure your cousin will love her new jumper. Jo
Such a beautiful color of Lento 😍 Also, be careful with washing fluffy knits in washing machine. Sometimes you can accidentally put more soap than its needed and even with cold water it will shrink. Or sometimes it depends on machine itself. You can trust your machine if you tried to wash something already, but another one can easily spoil the sweater. I had bad experience when we bought new machine , so after that I always handwash my knits🙂
Oh I’ve also had a bad experience with our new-ish washing machine and shrunk 2 perfect beanies in the wool programm. I‘ll talk to my aunt about it and since it’s wool it really doesn’t have to be washed as often in my opinion - but thanks so much for taking the time to write this comment and remind me to stay cautious even with cold cycles and what you mentioned 😊
@@marleneknits yeah, i had the accident this winter - just after finishing a sweater for my husband I decided to put it in machine 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ i don’t know what moved me to do so, but the result was horrible of course. It shrinked like 2-3 sizes) So now I’m super careful with my knitwear😄 handwash only
thank you, and sure! this kind of information I always link in the description box too :) I’m wearing the Judy Sweater by Gregoria Fibers, the yarn is from isager, it's the alpaca 1 and jensen held together and more information is linked on the ravelry project page: www.ravelry.com/projects/marleneleonie/judy-sweater
Ein super random Hinweis aber ich habe auch eine Sonnenallergie an meinen Händen und habe den Tipp bekommen, Kalziumbrausetabletten über ein paar Tage zu nehmen und davon geht die Allergie tatsächlich komplett weg😅
I find sweaters look unintentionally too small if they have both cropped arms and a cropped body (unless they have a significant amount of positive ease) Maybe try make the arms full length?
I hope that it won’t be too too big for her when I gift it and that she’ll grow into it quite quickly (selfishly cause I want to see her wear it 🤭) and I‘m sure she’ll like it! she doesn’t need to be super appreciative as she’s a child and I don‘t expect anything from her like I might would from another adult who knows the work and time that went into it 🙂 but I‘m not sure I understood your question correctly?

Honestly that sweater looks like it could be a good size for a 9 year old! And it’s a lovely gift, even if you intended it for yourself initially.

aw thanks kahilah 🌞
Love the jumper youre wearing! I think the texture is beautiful, and the colour is very flattering on you
thank you! it’s one of my favorites for sure ☺️

ach danke, das ist wirklich eine schöne perspektive darauf :)
I love the jumper you are wearing. Could you share the name of the pattern and the yarn you used. It suits you so well.

Uta
Love your glasses !
Where did you got them ?
they are from ace & tate, the pierce large in fizz ☺️
Before knitting the rib, try putting the sweater on waste yarn and blocking it to make sure it is long enough.
I find sweaters look unintentionally too small if they have both cropped arms and a cropped body (unless they have a significant amount of positive ease) Maybe try make the arms full length?
I‘m sure it would help, you are right! but I‘m quite content with my decision now to gift it ☺️
Hopefully will grow into or hopefully will appreciate?
