As a German and as a current IDF soldier I disagree with that statement. We were 3 elderly ladies walking the mountain on an idilic island, a Jewish lady in her 60s, the Muslim and Roman Catholic in their 50s.. they spoke about religion, politics, family and nature. Each respectful towards the others views. They return to have iced tea and snacks at the Muslim lady's house. They learned so much about each other and wished the rest of humanity could follow their lead. Thank you beautiful Christian and Jewish lady's. We might have met briefly due to our husband's work in the agricultural field, but the impact is life lasting.

No it is on the right side. Ukraine because of strategic, security interests, even values. Even with Russia Israel has good relations, Russia lets Israel bomb in Syria per Iranian groups. And for Germany, Israel is an important economic partner, you need their vote/support for some votes, we buy each other weapons from each other etc. And at least for practically everyone in Europe, India, Usa etc. Israel is simply the most stable, most important country in the region, which is why no one will be against Israel, especially not for Palestinians, who bear a large part of the blame and are economically practically insignificant. Good report, but an important issue is missing: Germany has welcomed literally millions of Arabic and Muslim immigrants into the country (almost 1 million alone during the 2015-1026 refugee peak). Even in the 1980s during the Lebanon War Germany has given refuge to many Lebanese and Palestinians. So it would be a far stretch to say Germany is by default anti-Muslim. There is a bit of ambivalence in attitude of the dominant secular liberal mainstream in Germany: on one hand they want to present themselves as tolerant and welcoming of immigrants regardless of their background, on the other hand they slowly realise that there are some issues particularly with Arab Muslim immigrants having a higher prevalence of anti-Jewish and sexist attitudes, which of course doesn't align with the western liberal world view. So there is a bit of a contradiction and controversy when it comes to Arab Muslim immigration recently.

We were 3 elderly ladies walking the mountain on an idilic island, a Jewish lady in her 60s, the Muslim and Roman Catholic in their 50s.. they spoke about religion, politics, family and nature. Each respectful towards the others views. They return to have iced tea and snacks at the Muslim lady's house. They learned so much about each other and wished the rest of humanity could follow their lead. Thank you beautiful Christian and Jewish lady's. We might have met briefly due to our husband's work in the agricultural field, but the impact is life lasting.

Good report, but an important issue is missing: Germany has welcomed literally millions of Arabic and Muslim immigrants into the country (almost 1 million alone during the 2015-1026 refugee peak). Even in the 1980s during the Lebanon War Germany has given refuge to many Lebanese and Palestinians. So it would be a far stretch to say Germany is by default anti-Muslim.
There is a bit of ambivalence in attitude of the dominant secular liberal mainstream in Germany: on one hand they want to present themselves as tolerant and welcoming of immigrants regardless of their background, on the other hand they slowly realise that there are some issues particularly with Arab Muslim immigrants having a higher prevalence of anti-Jewish and sexist attitudes, which of course doesn't align with the western liberal world view. So there is a bit of a contradiction and controversy when it comes to Arab Muslim immigration recently.
