  • Bill shows you how to install a Instrument Bezel and Lens Kit With Warning Lights on your 1965 Mustang.
    Purchase Product Here:
    www.cjponyparts.com/instrumen...
This instrument bezel has the correct color black textured finish with chrome accents, as well as the correct cutouts. The kit also includes a replacement lens, which has two bezels installed for your temperature and fuel level gauge, along with the red lenses for the oil and alternator.
Bill shows how replacing your instrument bezel and lens can make all the difference in the look of the interior, as it does in our Weekend Wrench project car.
The first step in the installation of the bezel and lens is to remove the six screws holding your current gauge cluster to your dash. Then, to remove the cluster from the car, you'll need to remove all the wires connecting the cluster to your dash. Once disconnected from the dash, unscrew the old bezel from the cluster, and then the screw holding the retaining plate on.
Place your new lens on the bezel and then the retaining plate, re-securing the screws. You'll then secure your cluster to the new bezel and rewire the cluster into your dash. Complete installation takes 30-45 minutes.

All your videos are really helpful.......as are the parts and accessories CJ provides.
Having owned my '65, 3.3 L6 for only a week and a half YOUR videos have proven to be far more helpful than the, so-called Service Manual!
Also the odometer just decided to get stuck so this video is invaluable as I'll need to remove the speedometer.
I can't WAIT for the new dash pad to arrive....... :)

@@brentjohnson6578 Try wiggling it out, especially lifting it up and pulling it up and out at an angle. I took mine out just yesterday. As soon as it comes out of the dash, pull it out enough to get your hand in and unscrew the speedo cable. Mine is pretty short.

Hey bill, I was wondering if you knew any place I could find those little cardboard tubes for the oil and alternator lights that fit inside the cluster.

Probably have a clogged radiator. It’s been 2 years I know, but, try putting your hand close to the front of the radiator (away from the fan of course and don’t touch it unless you want to get burned) and see if you can sense cold spots. Also if you are so inclined get a cheap temperature reading gun and do it that way. Either that you could have a head gasket issue or possibly running really lean or timing way off /tuning issue.
