- Everyone is very excited about Grandpa Evans' (Richard Ward) visit for Thanksgiving.
Good Times From Season 4, Episode 9 'Grandpa's Visit': Florida and the children are looking forward to James' father's visit. He arrives with a loud-talking woman, and he is not acting like a grandfather typically acts.

The episode before James died was pretty sad. James got emotional and reconciled with his dad. Since my dad died that one gets me every time.
Sorry for your loss, Richard.
@@loveforeignaccents unfortunately because of tension between Mr. Amos and his dislike for the popularity of j.j....he was fired apparently by Mr.lear and then on screen he was killed off...it was horrible sad.....perhaps should have said nothing...just work...then cash in and get your residuals...
John Amos left the show because he felt he should be paid more money and he was right.
I'm so very sorry for your loss.
@@AprilSondag It wasn't only the money. He had creative differences with the script writers. The one thing he could not stand was how scripts were being written in such a way that JJ could say that stupid 'dyn o mite' more. Amos gave an interview which I watched were he talked all about it. He felt the plots were getting more stupid and ridiculous instead of keeping to the main theme of the Evans family.
Glad James was able to reconcile with his dad before he passed.
Amen to that
I remember this actor his name is Richard Ward and he played a black cop on the movie Across 110th street. Check him out.

One of the best shows growing up to 70s AITF GT JEFFERSON'S ETC
Girl, you just said this on Everybody Loves Raymond and the other day on The Jeffersons. Make up your mind.
@@loveforeignaccents why can’t she have more than one favorite show ? Like Good times is one of my favorite shows and so is Sanford and son, alfread Hitchcock, twilight zone, Gilligan island, land of the lost, mission impossible, and so on and so forth 😊
@@jacklynjackson2754 Of course she could, but then she should say "one of my favorite TV shows of all time:, not "my favorite tv show of all time."
This is the first Thanksgiving episode without the father in the picture
Enjoyed JJ so much keep laughing.
I hated the old man episode. Grandpa also starred in the movie Brunaker.
Brubaker. AWESOME movie about prison corruption. That was the first movie I remembered seeing Samuel.L Jackson in. He played a crazy/dangerous prisoner that was locked up in solitary. Also starring in that movie were Robert Redford and David Keith. It was a great film.
where can find good times at can anyone tell me I appreciate it thanks very much

Henry had no interest in talking about James
Are you sure it was that? Or did he just not want to upset Florida further?
@@retroguy9494 since that was his first visit after the death I would have liked him to say a little more
@@sollyparker3947
I agree, the writers missed an opportunity there. having Henry say something more would have helped added some closure, but on the flip side, it would have gotten a little too deep.
BLESSINGS ❤️💛💚
DAMNNNNNNNNNN DAMMMMMMMMN DAMMN!
Why say "damn" so much?
@@Cablecol Go ask Florida that question
Well, that was annoying.
Then why are you here?
Right go find something else to do with your miserable self
@@LittleBlueOwl318 To teach you people good taste and culture.
@@respecttheconstitution1146 Good Times was the perfect show to give a glimpse into a poor black family, living in the projects, who managed to be decent people and examples to follow.
