Very timely as my tidy kit should be arriving today! And I too am amazed at the interest my bonnie receives. First question is usually "how old is she" and they're amazed it's measured in months, not years. Fortunately I love talking about her and Triumph's history.
It's really coming together! I bet there were more people that wanted to pull over and look at it, but they were probably in a rush, or would have felt awkward pulling over to look at it.
Bike is starting to look fabulous love the fact that it's an air cooled motor looks very authentic even though it's quite modern. The Motone kit looks very well designed along with fit and finish if you can't tell by now my eyes are green with envy :-)
How right you are Stu what you say about the effect these mods have on the casual onlooker. When you make performance tuning mods to a bike it is very much a game of diminishing returns in my experience, albeit still satisfying for the owner. Sensibly and sympathetically customising the look of your bike with higher quality and better finished items is though a game of appreciating returns in my opinion. As owners, we see instantly the improvement of changing a tired looking cheap galvanised bolt to a shiny high quality stainless steel item for example. Over a period of time as we improve and change items, we don't fully appreciate the overall effect because it's been a gentle evolution we have lived with. Only the casual onlooker gets the full 'wow!' experience of the finished work. Unlike the rather crass additions of full union jack decals on fuel tanks etc., which are obviously Halfords style home customisation work, modifications such as here could easily be 'factory' (in an ideal world) and I've always got a huge amount of pleasure with casual onlookers thinking that what they are seeing is a hugely underappreciated factory example of the machine, rather than it simply being my own work 😉😁
Hi Stuart - the big bulbous mudguards are great if you have to ride any distance on wet roads. I'm keeping mine on the bike. Thanks for the vid though.
I have bog standard 790, and the same level of attention here in Australia. I say it’s like going out with a supermodel. People are constantly looking your way, but you know they are not the lest bit interested in you :-) But middle of Brisbane, at the lights, an absolutely gorgeous woman detoured from crossing the road to come over and say ‘that’s a beautiful bike’ . She was gone before I could regain the function of speech.... not that that would have done me any good me thinks Yr bike is looking cracking mate
Really like Motone's front mudguard selections, the tidy tail however... prefer Maundspeed or similar Lucas styles thanks. Looking forward to the rear end solution none the less. Cheers from the colonies (Nova Scotia, Canada)
Lucas! really! i cant understand the nostalgia surrounding them! everyone hated them. they were the most poorly designed light in the industry! we spent all our time taking them apart to empty the water out and clean out the green slime, and if one worked continuously for a whole week before it needed repair you had a good one! "LUCAS THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS!" lol thanks for watching.
But the look! Lucas may have been a total electronic nightmare, but on a modern classic it just ties it all together. Minus the water filled lights and the huge oil stains from the old English lumps lol.
Hello Stuart, great videos ! I just bought the tail tidy. Great look ! But the VERY bad surprise is that I can't use my rear handle, my sissy bar nor my rear carrier anymore !! (because of the indicators). Motone could have made the Tail Tidy just a few inches longer... I am not happy with that at all, and I am stil trying to find a solution.
Hi Stuart You must be very please with the t100 it looks very nice . I do love the front mudguard ! Will have a look at motone web site .I think this front guard might fit on the new 2017 t 100 . Regards Paul
These mud guard and tail tidy changes suit the build. Great video, showing all the necessary details. Sorry if I have missed it along the way, but are there any plans for a different exhaust system? Thank you
Very high-quality items, but as mine is a Centenary Edition I'm eschewing things that markedly change the look of the bike (like that tail tidy). Have you any plans to cover up that naked clutch cable/clutch lifter, or is that an item Motone doesn't offer? And yes, the Bonnie does get attention; many times, while waiting at a light, I've had drivers lean out their windows and say things like, "What year is that? I used to have one of those."
I think Triumph may have dressed up the lifter a bit from the early ones; on mine it's dull metal, doesn't look very attractive next to that nice polished case cover! Kit I mounted is from a different supplier, consists of an accordion boot for the cable and a cover that fits over the lifter, looks much better that way.
Dear Stuart, I always look forward to your youtube items and watch them with interest and pleasure. I find there is a short of ground clearance on the t120. Do you agree to that and have you used larger shocks on the back? Thanks very much and ride on. Frans from The Netherlands.
Thank you Frans, yes the T120 is a little short on ground clearance, my Hagon shocks are not longer but they are firmer than the factory shocks so there is no wallowing which does address the problem somewhat!
so, do I have this right Stuart? That new tail tidy, does it come with that rear LED integrated? When will it be available? Lovely lovely thing...I want one:-)
Hi Stuart! I really like the look of the Bel Air light and bullet turn signals. Is your tail light brushed, like the turn signals, or is it polished? It seems to have a bit more gloss than the turn signals, but not as much as your front fender. The only finishes Motone has in the USA are polished and shot-blast. Thanks for the great videos!
Hi Stuart, nice little vid again matey. That rear end does look nice as is. I can only assume the new Motone product will be even neater. Just a question, not a criticism, did you consider some micro winkers to go in those frame tube ends, or did you think they would be too modern and detract from the overall retro look of the bike. Do you know offhand if Motone do a black finish for their aluminium front fender. Looking for one for my 2017 street scrambler. I can’t see one in their website catalogue. Cheers🏍🏍👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mike. as you may be aware MOTONE is sponsoring this series, so by and large only their products are used unless they do not produce a part that is required e.g. the chain and suspension etc. they dont produce a micro indicator and although i have nothing against them they are not my cup of tea any way! Re the alloy front fender in black im sure they did bring one out although i may be mistaken ill check for you! Thanks for watching!
Hi, there are two black plastic cylindric shaped thingies with large and small opening included with these motone alu billet indicators, do you know what these are for? Thank you
You'll soon have an extra bike in your garage with all those leftovers! :-) Look forward to the tidy-bit. You are a thorough man, I must say. And your filming is spot-on. The indicators quality seems high...but Stuart, I find them too big. They stand out to much for that style of bike. Sorry! But as long as you are happy with it, why shouldn't I? ;-)
Are those NH Togas? If so, are you happy with them? I have a 2011 T100 and trying to decide between the Togas and BC Sleeper Pros. Any thoughts or preference? Thank you

One of the Joys of Bonneville ownership Scott!
It's really coming together! I bet there were more people that wanted to pull over and look at it, but they were probably in a rush, or would have felt awkward pulling over to look at it.
Thanks Steve!
Getting better every week
Thank you Henry!
I'm really liking how this is coming along.
Thanks Wayne!
Best looking Bonneville on UA-cam

LOL thank you peter!
The bike is really starting to come into its own Stuart. I think the new seat really gives it a nice retro look along with the new lights.
Thank you Jose, your comment is appreciated very much, thank you for watching Sir!
Absolutely!

Definitely a worthy upgrade and the usual Motone quality parts! 👍🏻
Thank you sir!
The Bonnie and her siblings, just beautiful. Every one of them.
Hi Stuart - the big bulbous mudguards are great if you have to ride any distance on wet roads. I'm keeping mine on the bike. Thanks for the vid though.
Not on a custom bike Mr trippler! This is a custom conversion remember!
That tail light looks amazing.
Thank you Mark! It does look rather special doesn't it!
Really nicely well made video fella. The bike looks amazing, looking forward to seeing the custom parts, yet to be put on.
Thank you Sir! and thank you for watching!
Hi Stuart, a waterproof black- marker resolve the blue-problem. Thanks for all your work.

I suppose its horses for courses Andrew. for me they still have a stigma attached to them that turns me off!
Thanks for your comment!
Stuart u have put in a lot of time and money on the t 100, really looking fine, now have some fun, go ride it!
I dont have time to ride it! im too busy putting new bits on!
Here in Arkansas we call that not making good use of your time. LOL
Very nice.... I do like the rear light...... but I do agree with one comment, No Fuel Cap... come on man..!!!! 🏍
Lol Dont worry Dave Ther will be another fuel cap i promise!

Hi Paul thank you i believe they do make a version of it specifically for the water cooled twins!
These mud guard and tail tidy changes suit the build. Great video, showing all the necessary details. Sorry if I have missed it along the way, but are there any plans for a different exhaust system?

Thank you sir! yes there will be a new exhaust in due course! thanks for watching!

Yes, "nice restoration mate!" is also a common one. motone dont make such an item sir so it will probably be left as it is.
I agree!
Can we fit stock grab rail with this tail tidy?
Got problems with to less space between license plate and tyre. Damaged the plate! What to doe?
Looks great!
Thank you Sir!

okay, thanksand greetings.
Nice vid , bike is looking great. Only thing is, why not a checkered front fender?! J/K....
Thanks Rodz, LOL!
so, do I have this right Stuart? That new tail tidy, does it come with that rear LED integrated? When will it be available? Lovely lovely thing...I want one:-)
Hi, If you contact motone via their website, they will organise the order for you.
thank you fella...

stuart fillingham cheers Stuart 👍
Hi Mike, Apparantly they do a black anodised short version of it!
stuart fillingham thanks for your help Stuart, I’ll get on it now.
Beautiful ❤️ 🙏
Hi, there are two black plastic cylindric shaped thingies with large and small opening included with these motone alu billet indicators, do you know what these are for? Thank you
adapters for different fittings I believe!

All a matter of personal taste John, they are less than half the size of the originals! Thank you for watching sir!
True, so true sir!
Are those NH Togas? If so, are you happy with them? I have a 2011 T100 and trying to decide between the Togas and BC Sleeper Pros. Any thoughts or preference? Thank you
No Barclay those are the original cans. I can definitely recommend the sleeper Pros, far better quality then the Togas!
@@stuartfillingham Thanks Stuart!
Disliked because there was nothing about petrol caps whatsoever!
There was ! did you miss it?
sorry Stuart but I prefer the standard look my self
well if i left it standard it wouldn't be a very interesting custom project series would it?
true but removing a few bits and putting on a few different bits is not a custom bike to me LOL
Hmm i think those sort of opinions were dealt with in the very first episode!
you keep going Stuart, if it suits you that's all that matters and I still like your bikes
