if you mean lipia, she's definitely dead, since her soul only existed in the virtual world (specifically in the Lightcube Cluster), when an artificial fluctlight dies it's the equivalent of a human dying, so it's up to you whether you believe there is an afterlife or not
I've outgrown most anime. I like this one because it doesn't feature little girls with the bodies of grown strippers 100% of the time. However, the writing is so bad that it makes me audiably groan. Like in the "dark territory" episode where the muderous man is able to eat souls. Just a random ass ability out of no where. Kirito gets his random abilities from experience and contact with the designer of the world. But in this writing. He isn't special, just any ol human can enter the video game worlds and use random abilities like being able to eat souls and see moments from their past. totally legit.. No totally useless and bad writing.
