"Alright guys, we need a 17 foot long, neon purple, hairless dog with blades for feet" "Why?" "I don't know, energy crisis or something" -Excerpt from Shinra meeting
About the rats, the film company Daei wanted to make a horror film inspired by Hitchcock's The Birds, and went with rats instead of birds...but due to all the issues with the rats, they scrapped the project and created a giant turtle instead, to cash in on the Godzilla and Ultraman kaiju boom of the decade. Later in the 90's, Gamera was remade into a big budget movie trilogy. The SFX were done by Shinji Higuchi, who directed Shin Ultraman, Shin Godzilla (co-directed with Evangelion creator) and The Attack On Titan live action films. Definitely worth watching!! There's even a brand new Gamera anime series on Netflix right now! @Continue?
Nick the "most expensive music video" you're thinking of isn't the Godzilla song / video, it's another Puff Daddy video for the song Victory. That's the one with Dennis Hopper.
Been a while guys, gotta say, I haven't heard of this one. I barely seen any of the OG "Gamera" movies (unless it was the MST3K episodes). I will say this game looks surprisingly badass, like "Wing Commander" meets "Gamera".
Damn near started howling at the start of the cutscene. The blonde dude is Ruben Langdon, He's in a bunch of 90's-00's Video games and Japanese live action special effects stuff. You probably know him better as Dante in Devil May Cry! I know him as Mac Windy from B-Fighter Kabuto. Holler if you guys wanna try more Japanese video games based on tokusatsu stuff, I know a few good ones and a few... that are cool to look at...
You guys should watch the Gamera trilogy from the 90s (Gamera: Guardian of the Universe, Gamera 2: Attack of Legion, and Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris), they're some of the greatest kaiju/tokusatsu movies ever made (Shinji Higuchi, who co-directed Shin Godzilla and directed Shin Ultraman and worked on Neon Genesis Evangelion, was in charge of the special effects).
I did Baltimora's Tarzan Boy on karaoke night for my birthday in 2022 with half of my city's pinball scene there, and I was told that I nailed it. I was 6 beers deep.
The rat story is that before Gamera was a thing Daiei wanted to make a movie about giant monster rats called Nezura. Too much rat shit killed the production. On his way home the writer stumbled upon a turtle on the sidewalk and Gamera was born.
I know they don't get suggestions from youtube comments, but... Play Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh (爆裂無敵 バンガイオー) for the DC/N64 is Metal Warriors with More weapons.
Appreciate the shout out boys, you're the real sweethearts! Gamera forever ❤️
It's hard to deny how badass Gamera is
Fun Fact, not only does this game predict Y2K, it simultaneously saves us from Y2K 3 years before Y2K. Thanks Gamera!

I forgot this was a Gamera game when they started fighting frieza

This game looks a lot like Panzer Dragoon, but instead of a dragon, you have a giant turtle.
i am genetically predisposed to be a die-hard godzilla fan, but it's undeniable that Gamera is a pretty slick dude, like the Continue? bois
Gamera is literally called "friend to all children"
MST3K did, like, six Gamera movies during the Joel era and that's probably why Josh remembers Gamera from Comedy Central.
Rats make great pets, they have super short life spans but are great companions. You can bury me with my rat friends
This is fucking sick so cool that he’s your buddy in this
This game honestly looks flippin' sick 🤌🤌

This looks like it could be my favorite game. Love a 3d rail shooter and Gamera is my role model

Gamera taking the scenic detour haha ^^
Needed more Mystery Science 3000 references, but gets a pass because Josh remembered watching the MST3K Gamera movies on Comedy Central.

Mac Windy is my favorite Star Wars character. I like his purple lightsaber.
I can't believe they STILL haven't made Godzilla vs. Dozens of Rats! C'mon, Toho! Give the fans what they want!

I would love a scifi story written by the Continue? crew. It would be both hilarious and have some of the best written world building
really glad they're on the right side of history re: Godzilla v Kong
This is giving me Panzer Dragoon vibes.
Fuck. I forgot about Puff Daddy's song with Kashmir sampled. What a banger.
One of the most aggressive sounding ways a dude can say "COME WITH ME." XD
I did Baltimora's Tarzan Boy on karaoke night for my birthday in 2022 with half of my city's pinball scene there, and I was told that I nailed it. I was 6 beers deep.
Holy shit this game looks dope, games I gotta look for when I'm in Japan again list is growing larger.
Gamera is really neat. He is made of turtle meat.
The Godzilla cake my Dad got me was my favorite cake ever
Wait, is this actually a _good_ on-rail shooter? On the PS1???
This is a lot like Panzer Dragoon Zwei. Espically the forest level 🙂
Saturn core just got released for the MiSTer too... Panzer episodes coming soon for sure.
@@ContinueShowyes, please! More Saturn games!!
Paul, loving the hat
Mad God is like a 90-minute Tool video. So, a Tool video
I wonder what Neo Philly would look like
They’d need to make some serious advancements in lamppost tech, because they will always be climbed
Damn. I missed this one! Looks like a great bit of fun!

Cool fuckboi conversation, really love the legitimisation of fascist hate from 50 Shades. Honestly I thought that was more of a Z thing but Ok.
