      Thanks! More videos to come :) Lots of fun making them - appreciate it when people tell me they're worth it.

      @@ryancookparagliding yeahhhh. I know how unsatisying it is when you've invested time and gear in making videos, but the viewer count and subscriber count doesn't go up much. Just continue uploading. There might not be many of us yet, but we surely do enjoy the content.
      Maybe you can make a video about staying in thermals? I always lose them too early.

    Not that I would ever attempt to do this.
    I lose my stomach looking over a second story railing 🤣

      No it's super awesome, the takeoff is gradual and next thing you know you're comfortable in a chair. Can get scary when you're high and things get bumpy!

    And do you know what's up with the vegetation being in such a straight line? That's weird I've never seen that before

    • @jaidenwessling6334

      Would be differnt boundary lines for properties

    • @ryancookparagliding
      @ryancookparagliding  2 роки тому

      If you're referring to the Pine trees, they're grown as a crop and cut down for paper I believe. Would be strange if they weren't in a straight line - imagine when it comes to harvest time 😀 Generally, human grown vegetation is organised and the wild looking stuff is natural (don't land in the natural stuff!).

    i'm guessing the beeps have something to do with thermal pockets?

    • @TheMysteryman347
      @TheMysteryman347 2 роки тому

      It's his altimeter making the beeping.

    • @ryancookparagliding
      @ryancookparagliding  2 роки тому

      Indeed! Higher pitched beeping means you're going up and the lower deeper one is not good - you're going down. Really makes a big difference as you can't tell when you're up high as there's no frame of reference on a mountain to visibly show you you're going up

    The beeping would completely ruin the experience of flying for me.

      You get used to it

      I think it's probably better when you're not recording a video and talking, it's the only thing that way. And it has a purpose, so I think it would be fine.

    • @ryancookparagliding
      @ryancookparagliding  2 роки тому

      Yeah, you get used to it. I flew for a long time without it and it's fine when you're close to mountains, but in flatlands you really have no idea how much you're going up or down. Also some instruments are more annoying than others - this current one I'm using is much better than my old one!
