For $130 used this is a no brainer over the volca bass

And now $129 at many retail stores - not sure is a sale or a price drop. I couldn’t resist.

Karen I actually got a preorder on the TD3 for $130 and bought a crave for $190, I read about a lot of people having issues with these and it turned me off to them. Still better then the volcas. I hate their design and how they have to be mini.

Both look very interesting! I saw the Crave reviewed with an UNO in another review. It looked pretty great. After dusting off an old Casio CZ101 I bought in the 80s, I’m suddenly all excited about synthesizers again. I was looking for something that was mobile and played well with iPad. I was looking for reasonable prices too, and was looking at the Volcas when this went on sale. It looks like some of the issues with the UNO were dealt with via firmware, and recent reviews seem more favorable than the early ones. I’ll be putting it through its paces while I’m still in the return period. The worst thing about it is the powered micro USB port, which I think are always prone to failure because they are easy to damage, and some say are noisy.

I find V.A. vst's (sound) boring compared to hardware analog synths too often. With vst's you need to count to DAW+ASIO latency if you intend to do live performing. But since UNO has so many issues, it is really not suitable for jams either.
As an affordable source of analog tone it can really enrich your tracks, asuming that you know how to taim it's below fundamental rumbles and crackles. And still it won't make UNO suitable for smooth electronica.
Full CC implementation (only LFO to clock sync off/on is missing) makes it actually a module, so plug it into audio in and MIDI (forget about MIDI over USB forever) and never touch it again. When it sounds great you'll love it, when it sounds bad (and malfunctions), you'll hate it.

@@Drteomas Uno synths has tenths of issues, that's all I'm saying. I was grateful to buy hardware analog synth with full midi implementation for such a price, not caring for it's cheap enclosure and lack of hands-on controls but actualy ended up with a half-assed product.
It's like: it has WF modulation, but when you hear how it sounds, you loose wish to use it. JMO.

it's a nice toy but i wouldn't buy it again. Support is awful. Full usage with pwm and modulations are only accessable via App. Connecting to a DAW is a kind of pain in the butt.
DON'T EVER BUY IT SECOND HAND WITHOUT LICENSE KEY. The Editor which is important can only be downloaded after registering the synth with the key on their website.
License Transfer costs 25 Bucks extra but that's a common thing now among many companies nowadays.
