This was the first Red Skelton episode I ever seen.
Same. My parents forced me to watch it and ever since 7:04 in this episode, I have been a fan of Red Skelton ever since.
Red was a wonderful comedian and true patriot.
This is comedy gold. Red Skelton was a treasure.
Absolutely
America's Clown Prince
Going to be 33 in August and I LOVE Red Skelton!!!
I’m 26 I grew up watching red Skelton! Absolutely a timeless treasure!
What a great guy Red was.
it’s crazy how entertaining this is even today, also seeing how chill ads used to be compared to todays world
Three classic legends right here. Franklin John and Red were fantastic. Red was a painter he painted clowns mostly.
Behind the laughter Red was a true american willong to help many who needed it.
Would enjoy watching these episodes when they were first broadcast. Guess I was about eight - maybe nine years old. Roaring with laughter along with my grandparents and great uncle and aunt at the various skits.
I enjoyed Red growing up to
Me he was the funniest then and now and I think ever will be ...thank you Always red for so many fun filled happy Saturday nights.you were the best Red Skelton!!!!!!
Best video I've seen all day
That eye movement he does at 7:56 is incredible. And he’s so stinking funny!
I love him so much! What a great entertainer!
Gailard Sartain has done such an eye shift movement, well known as recurring character Chuck in the Ernest franchise.
He was so talented. A hero to me as I was growing up.
Man this is probably one of my favorite sketches of Reds
Always watch the show every week amazing humor in the days when you was holsum
Red Skelton and John Carradine, priceless.
A brilliant mimic
Early Daisy Duke. And I can see Benny Hill being a big fan of this.
Brings back a time when comindy was great mainly from him!!
7:34 So this Is Where Bill Scott (the original Voice of Bullwinkle) got the inspiration for Bullwinkle’s Distinctive Simpleton Voice (I seem to get that Bullwinkle’s Distinctive Simpleton Voice was actually Based off of Red Skelton but this is amazing).
Love you Red fantastic comedy ❤
I still watch Red Skeleton along with Three Stooges every weekend.
78,000 people at the ballgame and 10,000 saw it.
Best ever line about sightlines at the Coliseum for baseball
“The Red Skelton Show” is a CBS Television Network production.
Has anyone else noticed how very much Red Skelton looks like Robin Williams?
cross between robin Williams and Liberace
My first thoughts!
@21:23 "Charlie here?"
I don't know why, but that line kills me every time
Same here
My hero
I love how he breathed on the puppet skunk, his breath knock out the skunk out. The painter is actually Herman Munsters boss at the mortuary on the TV show the Munsters as Mr Gateman.
I remember seeing his grave in LA cemetery of the stars 81 82 with everyone else u could imagine little raskles
He says in living color, this is not color, this is black and white.
It was in color for those who had color TV
The man always say in full color but I see it in black and white. He always laugh at his own jokes.
Classic
What's that, a blonde riding a horse in the snow ? I about fell outta my chair !
19:05 No wonder the help's been missing!
joh carradine was father to Keith (Penny's father in Big Bang Theory), David (Kwai Chang Caine in Kung Fu), and Robert (Louis in Revenge of the Nerds). Also Grandfather of Marsha Plimpton (Keith's daughter).
Recorded at Television City Studios, Hollywood, California.
I miss comedy like this he never said cuss word it was clean and 😆
6:59 Well Here i am.
OMG this show was on you dared not closs TV. On front of dad or play records
Where's the full color?!
This was before color. Probably about 1950's
@@theresaholguin699 At the beginning of the clip the announcer says "live, in full color!" This probably means the original broadcast in 1958 was in color but what we have here is a kinescope film that was made at the same time.
@@jrabele Yes they used black and white film, called newsreel stock, for kinescopes. They were originally used to record a broadcast to show in another time zone
@@Staszu13 Exactly right! I know about kinescopes, the original broadcast was in full color. I was just being sarcastic.
Full color?
Black and white kinescope
Oh wow all these peeps are DEAD!!
I haven't seen this since when - what horrible drivel I was exposed to as a child - watched little TV and now know why - horrible!
What on earth are you trying to say? Probably don't like it because its humor you have to think about and clearly thinking is not one of your specialties.
