This Les Paul Studio came into my possession after I traded in my brand new Epiphone Kirk Hammett Greeny, along with some cash back! Why did I make the switch? Because the new custom LP Greeny build from Cathy Zhong offered superior features, and having two Greenys didn't make sense for me.
The first day with the Epiphone Les Paul Studio in Smokehouse burst. I traded in my Epiphone Kirk Hammett Greeny for this after the Cathy custom Greeny arrived and kicked its butt.
This is the guitar that fits me very well. Could it actually could give the Cathy Zhong custom a run. Time will tell. But probably not. But none the less it is still an outstanding guitar.

Seems like the perfect channel to ask this question: I've been eyeballing a few of the newer Epis, but I get stuck on them being made in China because of all the "Chibsons" -- what are the odds that the guitars are pretty much the same except for a hefty price difference? If I'm looking at an Epi from China that is pretty standard in terms of wood, electronics and hardware, but it's 700 vs the same looking guitar that's also from China but is 300, is it all QC and the name? Maybe working conditions/wages? Profit? I also wonder if someone is running some machines at night and just making extras.
