Located around the port town of Ouistreham and the area to the west, Sword was the landing site for thousands of British troop on June 6, 1944 and features many large gun casemates, shelters, observations posts and multiple machine gun positions - many of which can be visited today.

What beats me, having first visited in 72, then on mbikes in 82, 5, then again in 93, 6 and 9 is where the hell these new museums manage to lay their hands upon all this original 'new' tackle from the time to display above and beyond all that already on display in the existing musee's....
