I just picked up a 3GB/32GB version of these on sale for ~$58USD(Equivalent ex. tax). I only meant it as a placeholder for a few days while my regular phone is being repaired, but got to say I'm very pleasantly surprised by the overall usability of the thing, for something that was essentially just a 'throw away phone'. It'll definitely get another lease on life after i get my old phone back. I'll probably give it to one of my friends younger kids and I'm pretty sure they'll enjoy it a lot too, since it's not completely horrible and can actually play a few games + has decent camera & good run time 😁
Actually 12C isn't really recommended for most mainstream users. One main reason of it using MicroUSB is the company's marketing decision. 12C is aiming on those upgrading users with previous legacy MicroUSB phones and limited budgets, so that they can reuse their (perhaps multiple) chargers & cables. Similar stretegy to Samsung Galaxy A02 & A03 (but with bigger RAM & storage).
I needed a new phone because my old Asus rog 2 phone has problems connecting to bluetooth devices. This is only 79 usd now in our country so i think its a great deal.
How many default apps are on it? One of the main concerns when buying a phone is how much bloat there comes with it. This bloat usually cannot be uninstalled (officially).
I'm gonna get this or the Motorola Moto E13. It's gonna be my trap phone. I just need the dual sim function, Whatsapp and some video recording. I currently have the Sony Xperia XA1 and I am happy with the camera quality. So as long as the camera similar then I'll be happy.
Its junk, dont buy. I know its a budget phone but as soon as its turned on the memory is swollowed up by memory, yiu can get and will need memory cards, remember though, you cant use memory cards for apps.. its slow, its camera is average. I got one for my 11yr old and as soon as it was set up it was already lagging and running slow, couldnt transfer her old data from her older nokia phone because this junk didnt have the storage space. Then you have many apps youre stuck with like MIcoin or Aviation.. honestly avoid buying.
This is what we meant when we said it was a budget smartphone with a fair pricing. A nice alternative is the Redmi 12C with the Mediatek processor.
Its worse than the previous 10c with a snapdragon 680 😂
Good to see East African tech reviews. Hello from Uganda!
Xiaomi making a statement globally with Helio gaming processors. I think this one is so cool for the budget buyers.
How does the Mediatek Helio G85 processor in the Redmi 12C help to enhance your mobile gaming experience?
Gaming processor
Redmi 12C looks amazing with the striped design and also comes with the powerful chipset of mediatek. Seems to be a good performer also.
