CBTV - that's where Sweeney and Steen got their break :o)
And yes, it was a running joke that they had to sneak past Harry to get into the studios.

It was also one of the first TV programmes presented by the late Mike Smith.

Anthony Hobson ...and lets also add Anneka Rice just immediately pre-Treasure Hunt too.

Jeremy Panze Yes of course, she started out on _CBTV_. How could I forget?
To be fair all the clips I've seen from that show are clips featuring Harry "Aitch" Fielder as the Thames security guard.

Used to love this show, when Sweeny and Steen came on board. Bit of a difficult birth, from Magpie to Ace Reports, to CBTV (Ace Reports) to finding its feet with CBTV Channel 14. Even that last name had the pedant radio enthusiasts complaining that it was pronounced "1-4" and not "fourteen". With this and Dangermouse being stripped across the week, ITV finally started stealing ground on BBC before uncle Pip came along

Did anyone notice that the security guard on CBTV is wearing a "Watch It!" badge? I assume the programme was either a repeat or recorded before the change over from Watch It! to Childrens ITV.

Nah, Harry just hated change 😅 He always wore a Watch It! badge throughout the show's run.

Thanks very much for uploading this! I don't suppose you know the exact air dates, do you? Judging from the Emu's World episode, I'm thinking perhaps 6th April 1983 - but I'm willing to be corrected. :-)
Incidentally, do you have a full Children's ITV broadcast on tape, or just the continuity?
