Bravo, jeune homme !
Have you, young organist, ever played the Toccata per Elevatione by Girolamo Frescobaldi. Plese do(if not already) and let me know. Erbarm dich, is superb the way you play.
Talented, musical, sensistive. A good start! The registration fits with the text. Sometimes an Octaav 4 played an octave lower "sings" better than a Prinzipal 8. I should tell you that Bach wrote a split common time signature (alla breve) so you should feel half-notes, not quarter-notes. Remember too that after the prelude, the congregation will sing, so the tempo should not be too far removed from singing speed. Keep up the good work.
@maartendas God is no man, He is an immense being of Eternal Truth, crying is a show of weakness and a loss of control of our emotions. I agree with you that He does have emotions, but crying is a human thing only.
Wonderful, thank you. You are extremely talented.

@KSMSDRPEPPER did he tell you that personally? did he text you or email you from heaven?
OK so who is the organist ? This was posted 6 years ago ! And where is he today ?
Erbarm, Great piece, a favorite !
Pim Schipper. Organist at a church I don't recall at the moment, and a voicer at an organ manufacturer.
@shariotoflove, you're right, but he'd have to catch me first!

Bach is God.... God bows to Him.
marcello shaunard God bows to no man.
I think it should be much faster
I disagree, good tempo, I think.
Thankfully God disagrees with you as you will know when you face Him in the Judgment. John 11:35, one of the most sublime verses in Scripture.
