He's a remarkably well-written and portrayed character. Everything he does has a purpose that comes from a good place. He's not a chaotic evil mindless madman who just wants to watch the world burn. I've almost never seen a more interesting or relatable character in a game before. Villain or otherwise.
Actually, I’ve taken the time to analyze Emet as a character, and I think I know why we love him so much. He reminds me of the villain for the upcoming Dragon Age game in so many ways. I won’t spoil that in case the series is one you’re interested in, but Emet and that antagonist follow near identical storylines. They fight for a home long lost, hoping that even though it’s been Millenia, it’ll all be worthwhile in the end. We see the good sides and the bad sides of these characters, and even though they’re the villains of their story, they’re not bad people. They’re good people, admirable people even. They’re just doing bad things to attain their goals. And that’s why we love Emet. We can sympathize with him and because our character was his dearest comrade in a past life, it ties us closer to him. We’ve seen how he behaves around the WoL, why he chose peace over conflict at the beginning of SHB. It proves there’s a heart in there capable of loving 🥰
@@antivanelfroot6111 That is interesting, though I lost faith in Bioware a while back, so I will likely not be partaking in their dragon age sequel. Hopefully their copying square's work will make it good enough for people who do try it.
My husband and I just welcomed our first baby into the world two weeks ago and played this mix on repeat during the most intensive parts of the laboring process. The songs were so beautifully remixed and compiled that it truly helped ground us in peace and calm through the toughest moments. Keep up the amazing work with these playlist- they are definitely appreciated!

I honestly really love having XIV music, but having these remixed versions makes them translate to other games I play without necessarily being gut-wrenching. How do you get Close in the Distance to stop making you cry? Lowfi remix while playing Raft! That kind of thing makes me really appreciate all of these artists who re-imagine these songs. Having an anxiety-attack day, and this track has been on repeat for me for a few hours because the music is so soothing and Hades - at least Pre-Final-Days Hades - has become a big comfort character for me. I fully expect Solus-Emet would Sparda-Kick me off of a cliff with glee, so I'd still he terrified to sit in a room alone with him, but he's still Hades, just with a metric fuckton of emotional damage, soooo...maybe just sit very still and quiet and try not to disturb him, like watching a grizzly bear in the wolf...? 😆 Either way, my hyper-fixating brain is very happy with this video today, so thank you for the upload!
