  • I spent a few days tinkering with my sons 1947 CJ2A and then took it for a drive in the woods in the rain.

    i am 71 and I still have my dads 1947 cj2a that he bought new in Peoria Ill. 38K miles and we drive it every summer.

    Live in north eastern Oregon,love old Willys jeeps.Hope your son gets into them. Mine is 1946 cj2a.

    Nice to See! I'm sure your son will get more interested once he gets behind the wheel. I am 18 years old and have two Jeeps. One is a 1946 CJ2A with a three on the tree as well as a PTO. My other Jeep is a Hotchkiss M201, it was rebuilt in France sometime after WWII.

    Good jeep project, I love those flat heads, I have restored worser one than that, you were talking about 2nd gear. Those transmission were not made to gear down. My dad had the hardest time trying to get me to understand that. Your jeep sounds really good.

    No power steering or synchronizers in the transmission. All old school. Good basic transportation.

    Any idea what those brackets on the driver side of the body are? I have a 46' CJ-2A and it has those brackets.

      Near the rear? That would be the top bow holders.

    Ugly Jeeps are nice to look at and own. I have a 1942 MB.
