- On this episode, I tear down the engine block and find some concerning cracks. Then I install an engine that "runs great" says the seller, only to find it smokes like a banshee and the distributor shaft was bent. It took me 1 year to get through this agonizing footage.
Check out my Instagram for cool Jeep pictures and also because mom said you had to
So glad you put out these vids, my dude. I'm trying to learn about old jeeps as much as I can, and you're the best channel by far. Pure dedication. Thank you for what you do!
Your restoring the engine was going great and looking forward to see it to the end but you found the cracks. If you ever get the chance to complete doing a whole engine, youtube it.
The vice grips was the laugh I really needed today. Great videos
What a shame. Great vid! I had great luck with my 134f. Looking to do a ring job myself. Getting about 100psi on each cylinder. Spec was 100 to 125.
What a amazing video~~You are so amazing friend~!!
The great thing about that jeep is that it is solid. Mechanical stuff is much easier to fix than rust.
Your channel is awesome!
If the engine has been sitting then the oul on the rings isnt there so the compresson/seal is lost but it should come back up after it has ran for a bit, oil has a big impact on compression and blowby.
Nice Jeep and good save
That's kinda the luck I had with my 48 2A. Got it running and driving for 10 miles until the distributor and camshaft gears broke internally on the swapped in Ford inline 6. Taking it apart, the entire engine needs total machining as it's worn out. So now the jeep sits until I find an engine.
Hmm, that engine looked like it could have used new rings as well.
The chief doesn't look to be in bad condition at all. Nice find
Nice project...My pe95K genny engine has a PUSH fan,,,,,,just something to be aware of..
Nice job guys !!!
Valve keepers ,1/2 moon pieces to keep springs on the valves
That's how you make that Jeep yours.
Siempre he querido un jipito de esos ...son una belleza ...no se porq ya no hisieron más .
Just putting new ring with out boring the cyilinder you may sill have blow by. bore it to 40 over with new rings and pistons. Rings don't always wear evenly my engine the cylinders were out of round .rings alone would not have helped.
Well that ended rather abruptly. Why did you let it go after all that?
