Emma Thompson's performance when she finds out her husband's cheating on her is still so hard to watch. So beautifully painful
She's the best part of this movie and she gets a shitty storyline, guess it's because she's an older woman so she doesn't get a happy ending unlike basically every older man who gets to hook up with a young woman

Whole point of the film is meant to be about different types of love and unfortunately this happens a lot :(( But yeah her roles have defo changed now she’s older in comparison to male actors of the same age which is dumb! I honestly think she would enjoy this role though because it has a lot more emotional complexity than others... And yess she is honestly so good in this!
Honestly, the worst thing is that Emma Thompson had just gone through a similar situation. Her husband cheated on her (they are all famous, look it up). That is why it is so raw and heartbreaking. She almost wasn't acting.
@@joeypotter6051 I disagree that her storyline is shitty. Unfortunately, this is the reality for many people. What they did was give her the hardest one to act, and she nailed it. What a performance, without a doubt the best one in the entire movie.
Emma Thompson is a brilliant actress. Like, in everything I've ever seen her in.
I love that you thought he was gay when he adored the wife. The singer wasn't gay either, he's just saying that his manager was his best friend and with him during everything.

The weirdest thing for me was finding out that there is only a 5 year age gap between the little boy and keira knightley. She was 18 when this film came out and he was 13. It makes my brain hurt

There is no main character, that's the beauty of Love Actually. And I love how all the stories are slowly blending together. Definitely my favorite Christmas movie ❤️

I had my first crush in first grade. Oh my crush couldn't stand me at all. I got on his nerves He married his high school sweetheart and now has a son. I started attending the church that he and his family attend. So I have seen him at church every Sunday for the last 3 years. Talk about weird. When I first started attending this church. I didn't know that he had been going to that church since birth. I hadn't seen him in 17 years. I had moved away from Kentucky when I was almost eight. I moved back to Kentucky when I was almost 22. Needless to say he definitely remembered me when he finally saw me at church. It is weird every time we run into each other at church. We both live in a town of 328,000 and I have run into him and his wife and son at least 6 times outside of church.
How in the world did you not figure out he was in love with her and not her husband??? Even after she saw the video tape where he filmed only her the whole time?? 🤣 Billy, dude.... That's what she realized when she saw it and that's why it got all angsty and stuff. You did NOT pay attention at all 😜 It was clear as day!

There is a... movement I guess, of people who watch this movie every Christmas Eve. Yeah, I'm one of them. Usually during final wrapping or pre-food prep. Always ends with feet up and a drink in hand. 😁

A cousin of my dads got married when she was still in high school. Everyone said it wouldn't last a year. Nearly 50 years later they're still together, still happy - and it's not a 'staying together for the sake of the kids story because they chose not to have any kids.
My great grandparents got together when my great grandmother was only 14, they were married 78 years, until he passed two months ago. It would have been 79 in a few days.

Loved this. It's fun to watch Andrew Lincoln (your boy who fell in love with his friend's wife) in this. He was so young. Loved him as Rick Grimes on the Walking Dead. Some great actors, Snape from Harry Potter, Bridget Jones Diary. Just love, all sorts and different types of love. Wrong love, family love, long loves, young love, new love. Even love between friends, no they weren't gay.

My guilty pleasure, I'm a Star wars, Marvel, Die Hard, Alien's, Predator, Tarentino kind of guy, but I loved this one the first time I saw it. Pretended to buy the DVD for my wife. The penny dropping in the Andrew Lincoln/Keira Knighley scene was my favourite. "Penny dropping" in uk means a moment of realisation. He loved her at first sight but didn't want to get in the way of his best friend's happyness. You missed that at the start of your vid.

I'm a little sad you didn't really comment on my two favorite storylines. The body double couple and the Laura Linney ones. As far as the body double couple goes they were just so sweet and innocent, which was so ironic considering how they met. And the Laura Linney one is just terribly tragic. Because as much as she'd like to have her own life she never really will be able to because she has a responsibility to her brother. It really shows the toll something like that can have on a person yet in the end she's not bitter about it or anything. She just accepts it.

This movie has all the British humour, slangs and sarcasm with the way they talk. Billy, the singer is a great example of sarcasm when he says “but you turned out to be the f**** love of my life”. So he’s not gay. 😉

My favourite thing about this movie is the beginning and end scenes of people greeting each other are real people. They filmed the arrivals section at Heathrow for a day or two to compile all of the footage.
10:53 The reason there's a lot of fat comments about Natalie is an inside Joke. Around the time the actress was appearing in more and more things british entertainment media was comment on her weight and appearance a lot since it was the era of super-skinny models and stuff and she was very normal sized, so they mention it a bunch to make the point that she's very normal weight
I honestly just love this movie cause of the cast. So many talented people in one place, basically all of my favorite British actors in one film

I’m an American girl abroad and have dealt with this stupid stereotype that we’re easy since I studied abroad in Argentina over a decade ago. I’m living in China now and I *HATED* this part of the film. It’s so dumb, it’s an intro to a porno. Shouldn’t be part of a mainstream film.
It’s true that accents are cute, but the level they took this to is so dumb. It’s not love, it’s lust.
Also, as others said, Natalie clearly was taken advantage of... I think you’re amazing but am sad you didn’t pick up on that. Such a huge abuse of power. 😨
Love this movie. I’m a sucker for ensemble movies. I find that the reason we like movies with bonafide stars in them is because they aren’t stars for no reason, and when you get a bunch of them together....GOLD!!!

Though I do not understand how you could not understand that the guy was in love with his best friend's wife and not with his best friend. The whole wedding video he had filmed was only filmed on her and when she saw it she realized why he never wanted to be around her which made it seem like he did not like her (he kept his distance as he did not want to ruin his best friend's relationship) .

I just remember watching this with my mom who was suddenly dying laughing at her trying to do the quick clean before mark came upstairs. She was in tears laughing, saying, “That’s right, honey, just throw it under the bed!”

I first saw this movie a few weeks ago (I won't say where as I saw i whilst working in the venue) but it as played with a live orchestra.
Now, it's not a movie I would normally watch. I'm quite romantic but in a general/heroic sense. But.... from the opening interlude, I was captivated. I loved it and it moved me to tears in parts. It's not a perfect movie; of course not; there are all sorts of bits that one could criticise for being unrealistic, but...you know what...I love ...it ❤️

#bingers I just thought that you might like the movie “A league of their own” about a REAL women’s baseball league during the Second World War. I saw this when I was quite young (at 10) but it is almost perfect. It’s got Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie ODonell, and Gena Davis (among others). Honestly, this movie DESERVES to be seen. It had amazingly good reviews and has of now been made into a TV series. I think YOU will truly like it, but to pass this on to the youth if today would just be so special.
This movie just makes me feel so good even when it's not Christmas I always watch it, so wholesome and beautiful

Please react to It’s A Wonderful Life (1946) starring Jimmy Stewart. As you probably know it’s a Christmas classic. Thank you. It was shot in b & w but is also available in a colorised version if you prefer it.
I'd never really seen this movie. Just bits and pieces of it, mostly from when we still had our satellite and also I saw some little clips from other reactors reacting to it. It looks cute but.....Nope!!! Not my kind or type of flick!!! Your reactions however....you were killing me Billy!!! Killing me with some of your commentary!!! Holy shit!!! I have a handful of suggestions of what movies you can react to: "Elf" with Will Ferrell and it's a Christmas movie and I freaking love it!!! Another Christmas movie I love and it's a classic: "Miracle on 34th Street!" The original movie and not the god awful remake from the 1990's!!!! As for the non-holiday movies: "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" as well as "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "War Games," (an '80's classic with a very young Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy with one hell of a storyline!!! And I love it!!!!!!!!!!) "Romeo Must Die" with the great Jet Li and the late, beloved Aliayah. And last but certainly not last....."Underworld!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sorry!!!
