This video has been a godsend! I was given this machine by my aunt with no manual. This has been so helpful. It's so difficult to watch a tutorial and find that the sewist is using bells and whistles that I don't have. This tells me just what to do on my actual machine. THANK YOU! Great machine.
My mom handed me this sewing machine with a pretty much "do with it what you will attitude". It had the user manual and the VHS. That's the thing. VHS. Who the hell has a VHS player these days? I hardly even use my BluRay player anymore. This is very helpful, thank you
My White sewing machine has been sitting around idle because I had trouble with the bobbin thread "bunching up" and didn't know what I did. Watched this whole video and found I was threading incorrectly. Once I did step-by-step as she did, Voila, I can now sew with it! THANK YOU so much for this video. This woman did a great job and was very informative. On I go .....
Much of this also applies to older models - 1477, in my case. Thank you so much for posting! I use my machine a few times a decade and always need a refresher.
Glad to help. I didn't have one either. I bought my first 1866 from Goodwill and loved it. Really well made machine. Then I found one on craigslist and the owner had the video that came with it. Now I own two of these and they are in excellent condition. I think that if you take care of it, it will last a really long time.
I’ve used White machines for almost 40 years, have a couple of 1099’s as my workhorses. Fantastic machines! Just got a 1960 zig zag with perfect turquoise paint as a project machine, it’s just as fantastic!
Thank you Stephen Rice! Such an informative video! Lots of great info. I got this sewing machine and had no idea it is so versatile! I just wish she had been more forthcoming about how Heavy Duty this sewing machine is. Can any one help out? Like does it sew through denim, canvas, etc. and if so how many layers can it sew through??
