Hey Sergey, I purchased an awesome portrait tutorial from you where you mentioned sanding between sessions to remove oil residue.
You mentioned in the video that you have a video on your UA-cam channel demonstrating this concept but I can’t seem to find it and would very much appreciate this information.
    Thanks!!

This Van Dyck is a fabulous source painting because it contains an endless wealth of teaching lessons, and gives the opportunity to express great depth and humanity.

Хорошая интерпретация картины Ван Дика... Но я думаю, что маэстро использовал лессировки на толстом слое "мертвого" подмалёвка, что делает его изображению лёгкость и свечение

Nowadays, with plenty of paintings available in high resolution and color accuracy, is there a real reason for painting students to visit museums? Excluding considerations about dimensions or context, I mean, if you want to learn about Van Dyck and you have that photo reference, is there something you cannot appreciate because of being on a screen, like some effects with the layers or something similar? I'm from Costa Rica, so I cannot go to a museum to see it for myself.

So, if Rembrandt, Van Dyck and any other old master had painted like this, you could buy Rembrandt at the flea market today for a few dollars. Dear painters here on UA-cam: Do you really have no respect for anything or anyone anymore? Many amateur artists give instructions on how to paint a Carravagio, a Rembrandt, a Van Eyck, a Bouguereau, a...a.... But all is not even a hint of what is touted in the titles. An arrogant and pretentious new breed of smart alecks with no real knowledge, want to give here the impression of how the old masters painted. And the stupid viewers, who have never seen a Rembrandt etc. in "real" find this also still great. This is a dumbing down without borders! I am simply still speechless!

Is the resulting painting not good enough for you? In all fairness, this is just a very truncated sample of the full length video which must be purchased form his website. Most UA-camrs know that this man Gusev is just showcasing his video tutorial for interested buyers, thank you!

@@doodlingbunny5642 It's not about whether the painting isn't good enough for me! Did I say that? It's not about watching the video in full length, but rather about the result. And anyone who has ever seen Anthony Van Dyck in the original, and I have seen Anthony Van Dyck in the original many times and was aware for a long time that the museum guards were already nervous, will be able to immediately understand my criticism above. What this artist is promoting here, i.e. conveying the secrets of the painting techniques of the old masters, is not true from start to finish because the result is simply a dummy (poor imitation) of what the original offers.
I hope you understand this better now!
