Hi Jimmy, sorry to rain on your parade but that is not the cheapest jet I ever saw. We once got a DC9 for zero, zilch, diddly swat! The only condition was that it had to be removed from the airport within one month, and of course it had no engines. We got engines fitted and flew it out within the month. In fact we flew it all the way across the Atlantic to South Africa and continued to use it for several years!
I would put it up on a pole as a sign. It still looks super cool! I would use the interior to Jazz up your hangar office, custom van, or another plane.
@Mark Pachol I don't know after how many hours the engines need to be replaced, but I think it's unlikely that these planes would have flown as much, and even if they do, how much does one of these new jets cost, and since ditching the plane is more financially responsible than selling it, I'm sure that even with 2 bad engines this plane is worth much more than $1.
@@visekual6248 It might be worth say... £10k in scrap ( I don't know, it's just a number) but if it costs £15k to restore it to flight then you've either bought £10k of scrap or a £5k liability - depending on your plans and your accountant. Well, given the fact that there are no engines to begin with, just a pair of empty tubes...
@@Stoney3K I made the comment when there was only a thumbnail :D
Seeing the entire interior gutted and tail section cut up, I'm not really seeing the vision here for what he's going to do with the plane. Maybe Jimmy has found an entirely new way to go broke... LOL
@@RealRickCox But hey, at least it's officially airworthy!! Lol.
The cables/ball seals alone would be a headache. I always appreciated the II's having hydraulic gear...
He really is going to go bankrupt this time 😅
yep..keep going Jimmy !...you`ll get there soon ...lol
You should make your own new plane out of the scraps! Maybe even your own entirely new model.
Change that! Take center fuselage section to a man cave movie theater
Cleaning & restoration.
You know, for the life of me, I can never understand how these planes are left to fall into this state of disrepair. It's not like we're talking about the aeronautic equivalent of a Pinto or Vega (or Yugo for that matter) At one time, these shadows of their former selves cost someone dozens of dollars.
At some point, I'd love to hear the story of how something so amazing, so coveted by so many, had been left to the scrapheap of time
Sarasota, FL airport . JoTo's Restaurant next to the airport is best food ever. Awesome stuff Jimmy, cheers
I'd strip out the interior, sell anything of any value, should be plenty of copper wire etc good scrap value, all the instruments, controls and avionics should have plenty of value, make seats into office chairs, would get good money for them!
Now the airframe I'd put on a post over my house/ garden would make a great Gate Guard. 👍
Or fix it to a hydraulic ram/ frame, have it rock back and forth and charge the local kids $5 to 'fly a jet plane' put some virtual flying scenes on a loop running on screens in the cockpit windows, thrill ride sorted!
Or take the wings off it, put some wheels on it, make it into an EV camper, would be a fab youtube project.
Wait you were at SRQ and didn't say hi. Ooofff!! Glad to see my tower in the back! (I work in it come do some laps in the pattern! Just not mid day we are getting busy!)
This jet makes the 310 look like a preK jigsaw puzzle. There are way better ways to own a jet!!
You are going to have to up your game to work with that stuff - and as another commenter mentioned - $2000 per hour for fuel and maintenance. Did you mention are you going to part it out - or fly it? Make life easier for yourself, build a full LEED shop, proper checklists, project plan, staff, etc. A sawsall and a grinder - is not a good start; nothing says parts plane like a sawsall.
Mount it on a tri- axle trailer, and convert into a cool looking tiny house project. "This is your captain speaking... Can I get a.. Clear Jet stream " ?
Graeme here Jimmy, I recon $1.00 to $5.00 for Airplane thats what I think anyway, Looks like a Fair bit of WORK on that 310
Buy it. Tow it up with the 310, stall it, jump out with the fire extinguisher strapped under your jeans and let that Cessna crash where it wants to then phone the insurance company. Yea that should work.
That's a win win for a 💵.
Got to be $5k in scrap aluminium !!!!
i think you should turn it into a library for kids and donate it to a local school that really needs one.Think how cool it would be for the little kids to sit in a real jet cockpit or in the back seats reading a book.
Sell it to the remnant church in Dallas. Tell them to pray for it! Tell them to get love gifts from all of their members so that the jet will be back in service serving the Lord of the skies! But secretly hope it meets the same freaking fate as the other one did!
remove the wings and mount it on a concrete base and use it as a super cool workshop office dude !
I believe I'd let him keep the fuel truck unless you want to haul it to the scrap yard. The weight would put a chunk of cash in your pocket. Just flush all the tanks with water and a couple of gallons of dawn dish soap.
Upgrade it with Sierra mods, and glass garment g3…f44 engines extended fuel tanks, full interior refurbish.
I think i'm going to agree with you here...the other dude got the better deal with the dollar....lol. Good luck in the parts sale business, hopefully you can at least break even after expenses for hauling it all all home and listing it etc..... keep them videos coming!!
is that sarasota? nice in February looking forward to your jet rebuild. go jimmy go
I Flew in one in 1989 instrument was analog now there are Digital with GPS/ID Transponder. The only thing really is to turn it into a kid playpen, sleeper cabin. You can't stand up in them! Prices of selling it as a movie prop. But there are dangers in it! Pay attention of?
My A&P school had a cherry Lear jet that was donated by Northrup Grumman when at Hawthorne Airport. Before SpaceX took over the place. They had 2 of them and were being painted and the contractor doing the paint did not rinse the stripper off very well and they had to junk the plane. That is so sad.
“I’m an idiot, do not take any advice from me”…lmao. If you were my neighbor, we would be friends. Lol
Yard ornament!!! Kids'll love it
Dig a big hole and bury it as a tornado/bomb shelter. A friend of mine did that with an old Hawker we got for free. But our Hawker had engines that we sold and instruments, radios etc.
Topics for a live show:
-Financial Literacy
-Inexpensive hobbies
-Success in Marriage AND Aviation
-Selling Plasma and other bodily fluids
-Canadian Emergency Powers Act
-Trucker Convoys
-Passive Incomes
You could take some items from each and maybe have a local artist make some thing out of it. Then do a live show and auction things off for the 310 fund.
Would make a killer travel trailer for weekend road trips.
I got to admit that my blood ran cold when you asked, " if you should eat the expired gum", and you heard my, Mind Spek. Followed by, (Fright), when you said, "I hate you", as you looked right at me. I am feeling very strong emotions at the moment as I try to figure out how, when, & where to perform the Tea Ceremony like the Kung Fu student performs for his new Master. LIVE long & prosper, my Master. May the Force never leave you holding the bag. Nannu Nannu and all that good stuff. Bob Jackson, Papillion Nebraska
Strip all sellable parts that are not part of interior decor and turn fusalage into grounded hotel/themed bed breakfast with bed in rear and excutive seating in front and basic blanked out control panel with lights and video/tv screens for watching movies/tv
Run. RUN VERY FAST BACK TO THE 310.
I know this will sadly be scrapped, and understandably so, but i hope you'll take us along for the ride anyway. Can i get a CLEAR SAWZALL!
Dude, i love your videos!!! Greetings from Brazil!!!
It's good to change things up little bit Jimmy.its going be fun to fix it.
