You remind me of my dad. He was always looking for a cheap plane to pick up and get running. He bought a gul wing v77 stinson that was used in ww2 than sat in a hanger in MN for over 40 years without seeing the light of day. He bought it and flew it home to central ND after spending 1 week working on it. Watching you makes me think of my dad. Thanks for the great content keep up the good work.
Haha my dad bought a Stinson station wagon in the mid 1970’s. Ended up having a bent crankshaft, probably from tipping on its nose with the engine running. He sold it at a big loss…
I flew a Stinson Wagon a few years ago, had the 'Big Rudder' conversion, short field was awesome, top speed was ummmm... But you couldn't beat the nostalgia, it wasn't mine, it belongs to a good friend, he sold it and funnily enough bought an RV... because it was faster. He paid about $45k for the Stinson.
Jimmy, those look like smoke goggles. We had them in the older airliners like the MD-80, 727, DC-10 etc until the all-in-one face mask was developed. Love your channel buddy!

You remind me of my dad, his dream plane was a a Cessna 310 and he was always looking for one and finally found a used one for cheap, after a year and a half of fixing, his plane finally exited the hangar and saw the light of day, it was a massive improvement from his Piper Cub, he said it was the best purchase of his life, he bought it in 2018, took off in 2019 and is flying it to this day, taking us on trips, and short flights!

Back in the early 70’s, while kids my age were into chrome and flames, I was into bringing classic cars, trucks, and whatever, back to their former glory. One of my best was an old and worn out 1946 Stinson 108-3; the “Station Wagon of the Skies.” I picked it up for $1,600. The bones were good except for a little corrosion in the tail. You know, that little place that nobody can get seem to get into to inspect. That and the engine was toast. It had a well roasted and toasted 6A4-150-Franklin. A fellow I went to school with got me 6A4-165-B5 165hp. Franklin for $500, that needed to be rebuilt. C’mon, it’s like a VW engine on steroids only with two extra round thingies that, I believe you call them, money to noise converters. This thing also came with pontoons, that were used only once. Since my brother-in-law did contractual work for Edo Corporation, in Manhasset, Long Island, NY, they not only refurbed my ‘toons’ but also painted them in the same paint scheme of my Stinson; all for $500. My first flight was 5 months after purchase. When I opened the hanger doors, the previous owner damn near passed out at what he saw. When I pulled out to the tarmac and we were ready to fly, I put him in the pilot seat. And yes, he was the original owner, 1946. He said, “But I don’t have a license.” I said, “Neither do I… let’s just go for it.” I scared the crap outta’ him. All in good fun. 😂
Had replace one of those doors on CNO G III. back in early 90's that thing is expensive. Funny all that interior is only expensive because of the "Fire resistance" that required, remember the CARPET we used for that G3 was like 10k roll only wide enough for the Jet maybe 20 ft long; get like 2 jets out of it.
What a fun new adventure! Can’t wait to see this jet rehabilitated. But PLEASE finish the 310, and I’ve always hoped you’d do the Aztec too. Oh well, so little time and such a shrinking budget!!! Good luck. Fun to watch.

Hi Jimmy, all the best from Patagonia! Good luck with the jet.
Love the live idea, Jimmy!
I don’t have a question on my mind Jimmy but I do have a suggestion scrap everything you can down there’s gotta be a ton of money and a copper alone on that not to mention aluminum and stainless steel mom there’s some good funding out of converting that pile of crap into a pile of cash to fund the 310 and get it done!!😳😳😱😱
Like I said it’s just a suggestion I love all your videos they’re informative their fun and always look forward to seeing the next one!!
I think your price projections for engines, avionics, etc are off by a factor of 10.
OK, that was fun. Now let's go back to the 310, please. Thanks
Your electric drill sounds like the plane taxiing under it's old power source! LOL
Jimmy a teacher in a primary school in England converted a aircraft fuselage into a class room the kids loved it
Ya take da wings off, you find a cheve truck frame. THEN you take the two and make them one. Your wife would proli be much more happy Glampin wit you. 🎆
I recently told my better half that I want to buy an ex airline bathroom and put it beneath the stairs in out future home, hidden behind a regular door. She laughed and actually likes the idea! She also wants some galley carts for the kitchen. She's a keeper.
First savethe310, Then should have gone for the 1 dollar private jet. I am waiting to see the 310 in air. Thank u for your show.
14:26 "stand back, stand by" I heard that.
Jimmy you are the best I watch your program all the time
I'll watch every single ad until you get this flying again!! #savetheprivatejet
I think you should take out a massive insurance policy. Because you just never know when a plane might spontaneously combust. 🤣🤣🤣
Lancair test pilot, wow... I'd love to hear more from him!
For future reference. When taking something apart, that you’ll be putting back together. When unscrewing something. Put the screw back in the hole after you take the piece apart. That way you don’t have to figure out which screw goes where when it’s time to put the part back together. 👍🏾
Jimmy, behind the windows think green screen!! You can add some cool stuff when filming!
Keep up the good work Jimmy
Salvage anything that’s worth anything. Scrap the rest. Use the money on the 310 and Aztec.
