@@ScreamingEagle-xl3tw I used to run in the morning, 3:00AM morning. That is the only thing in the begging that got me to do it. In a non-superiority way I knew I was better than everyone since I was running that early. No one where I worked knew for about a year that I ran. But, then life happened and I had to move to after work running. Normal days for a while, maybe one or two other people running. One day on a Tuesday at like 4:30PM it was thundering out and I had the "let's go baby, ain't no one else doing this." I kid you not there must have been a running meet up or something. Over the 10k there was like 20 people running. Absolutely down pouring, not able to see in front of you, 20 degrees out so not cold. Never happened again, your comment just reminded me of that. Also, don't use any of that equipment. Its rain, you will be alright.
A black hat isn't very visible. I bought a neon-green hat for running. I use it in a regional marathon because a lot of the race goes very close to traffic, and if one runs away from traffic, there's a slant to the road that causes a lot of stress on the legs. So I dress in bright clothes and run closer to traffic.
Great video! I have noticed that in parks and other tree dense areas reflective bands and strips are not so efficient, so I wear a small flashing light clip somewhere on my torso (if I don't use a head lamp), to let other runners and cyclists ntice me well ahead of time.
If summertime and rain, the thinnest singlet and non chafing half tights, and thin socks. If cold or wind wool is a must. A cap is a must. Dont wear to much in autumn and wool is a must. Had a dreadful experience in a marathon in cold april rain. Should have worn thin wool all over, or never ran at all.
Thanks a lot, these tips are really helpful!! I’m gonna order some reflective armbands right now! Can you please also make a video about what you wear when you’re running in the cold (under 40F)? That would be very helpful for me, I’m always either freezing or too hot and sweating a lot🤷🏻♀️
I dont put on any extra clothes when it rains... I love the feel of rain... The coldness... The sound of it... So I usually just run with nothing but shoes a shirt and shorts, if im feeling REEEALLY good that day ill run in only shorts and shoes
Yes, just power run in the rain is the best. You get the extra cooling and it feels great. It is like jumping in a bit colder lake. It feels great when you are in it, but you always have to overcome the resistance to jump in. Running in the rain is not different. No fancy stuff needed.
Cycling has a lot of great rain solutions. I mostly bring out my bicycling clothing when I run in the rain. Cyclists deal with much harsher conditions.
Really useful tips, I do find the really heavy duty waterproof stuff turns you into a mobile sauna which sucks. The gear you ladies use seems to avoid that.
You need to keep up with the times. Army Recon and special forces don't use Goretex. When it's cold it's easy with almost any waterproof jacket. The hard part is around 12-16 degrees C. You will sweat more than necessary. Look up scientific research from Natick Labs, etc.
I save the plastic bags from the grocery to use to stay dry before the race starts. It's light, you can remove it and toss it to a volunteer once you warm up about a mile into the race.
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti. Condensation from your own sweat & body warmth, will deliver enough moist to feel like you don't need an extra expensive stuff. Some windshell & good wicking baselayer. Just like Holly said & tested.
Last 2 half marathons have been rainy. The first one my Garmin heart strap about sawed me half, so the next one I lathered up in body glide. Everywhere. In that one my feet got completely shredded and I didn’t know how to fix it. I’m ordering those socks stat.
@ the run experience - i would recommend bamboo purifying bags for drying shoes and odd baking soda if your shoes really get stinky work way better than newspaper which will not purify the shoes!!! I find a waterproof waist belts works well for storing your phone aswell
I love running in the Florida weather, mostly rain, I wear a hat eye protection glasses sneakers and shorts.. boom... and I love it.. no fancy clothing..
Nice video. I live in the Willamette Valley, so I run in the rain ALL the time. I rotate pairs of shoes and definitely use your newspaper method. I tend to underdress in the rain so I will look into those jackets.
I just run with shorts a tshirt and a windbreaker maybe a hat for the rain but speed and time is everything I care so I try to reduce weight as much as possible
Great tips! Thank you for sharing! I especially like the newspaper to dry shoes and using the buff to dry off! I haven’t tried merino wool yet but, may try it this winter season thru training. I also like my base layer to have a zipper for temperature control. Only because I tend to overdress in rainy/snowy days.
First let me say how pleased i feel for finding this video. Thank you for all the information :) But i have to ask something important to me. Say that you wear the hat and the jacket you mentioned, and afterwards also put the hood on top of the hat, and then at last wear the buff on your neck. Say that you wear all of these, Does water going to get inside your neck and then to your torso? I am asking this cause i really would like to run in the rain, but i don't want to get a cold :( Please guide me a little more.
@@TheRunExperience Sorry for the late reply But thank you very much for your answering me. In the end i found your ideas and all from other videos too, very helpful :)
I live running without a shirt in the rain if I wear a shirt is eventually gets saturated and sticks to me. A jacket makes me too hot, and they often leak
Those of us who usually wear glasses would be very greatful if you give us some tips on how to keep rain off our glasses, it's really annoying when you go running in the rain and you end up seeing nothing because of the raindrops in your glasses.
Morgan needs a mic, acoustics were off like she was on a stage. As for the gear, you missed out on gloves for our digits! Also for those that have trail running shoes, it's nice to use in the rain since some shoes have goretex to keep your feet dry.
I couldn't possibly wear a shell while running, even in rain. I just sweat more than normal people so the moisture doesn't leave fast enough 😟 I have half marathon in a day and it's going to be heavy rain. I can't win 😆😣
For those of us in the land of fire and ice(Alaska) the headband hat combo can be pretty handy. I started wearing a headband to keep hair out of my eyes in the wind, but quickly realized the versatility possible with a light weight close fitting head band and a light weight skull cap and billed brim cap. Skull cap is small, easy to tuck away when not in use, headband around neck when not on head, or, like the gal in the video, a quick twist around the wrist. Lots of options with minimal bulk. These ladies have some good tips. I like the emphasis on safety. Maybe a video on safety items(lights, reflectors etc) from driver's perspective inside vehicle and runner's perspective (cost, convenience, feeling seen) on the roadside or path would be a good topic for exploration. Thanks for the great channel.
Oh good. A special video on running in the UK.
Great video. Thanks
Haha- glad you liked it!
I always run naked when it rains. It’s a great conversation starter.
😶😳
hahaha
Running naked in Summer is the best feeling in the world.
I was gonna say I run naked with Xero sandles.
With the police it is.
I don’t got time to buy all that equipment, it’s raining hard right now all I need is shorts and shoes
Facts. They tripping. All you need is shorts and shoes.
Ha love this comment!
LETS FUCKING GO BABY! 💪
Just go run! Enjoy the fact that YOU are the only person out there and smile. Go hard.

"Stay lit, so you don't get hit," hilarious 😂!
I love running in the rain, it's litteraly the best thing ever
I love running in the rain. I did a 10 miler in poring rain. Was my best 🏃. Had good gear to keep me safe. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤🏃
I'm a beginner in winter running in the UK and you video was super useful and learned a lot. Thanks much!

Fantastic tips - for a new runner this is just what I needed to hear. Loving the channel.
so glad!
It’s crazy how I need videos like this for days like this … thanks you guys ❤

I just run in my shorts and t shirt. One thing I assure that they are of very bright colour and have some reflective strip .

great content as usual guys 😼
I’ve got a half marathon tomorrow with a 90% chance of rain. Wish me luck!
I have a shoe dryer that my wife got me from Amazon. It is awesome!
That sounds great for a rainy climate!

Meanwhile in South East Asian Countries...
*Rains*
Do you wanna run?
YES.
Go out and run.
The end 😁
Relatable... My mood for running is literally gone this raining season. I just keep myself sane by hitting the gym
So true. My most important gear is waterproof headphones and waterproof phone
So true!
In a monsoon!
True. Rainwater in the USA is so cold, it hurts like needles when it falls on the skin. I miss the warm showers of Asia.

Today was my first rain run and water almost destroyed my Phone'e speaker...but hey I loved the experience 😍😂
Try putting your phone in sandwich-sized plastic bag!
@@TheRunExperience will do 🤘✌️
Yeah, this is the only bad thing for rain running. I got a couple of cheap mp3 headsets for a rainy day, otherwise, it might cost me a fortune.
10:00 no i had to grin that was genuinely funny amazing gems on this video much appreciated

Any tips on running in the blessed rains of Africa?
Well, your running playlist should probably just be this on repeat! ua-cam.com/video/FTQbiNvZqaY/v-deo.html
That’s something that a hundred men or more could ever do.
Or if you’re Kenyan, move to America and beat everyone in the marathons.

I use army surplus gear cheap to buy the lightweight mtp goretex jacket 25 waterproof trousers 15
I love running in the Florida weather, mostly rain, I wear a hat eye protection glasses sneakers and shorts.. boom... and I love it.. no fancy clothing..
And how does it turn out to be to wear only weat shorts? Modesty?
Cool tips girls! I use a bright color hat as well, has been a game changer no water getting into my eyes anymore and improves my visibility

Good stuff, I learned a lot especially Merino wool
Awesome video. Thank you for the in-depth info!
I live in East Tennessee so I am getting a lot of snow now!
I bet! These tips will hopefully apply to you in some ways as well!
From East TN, myself (although I moved to WTN and travel the midwest for work). Be careful in that snow (you know how lacking the plows can be)!
Thanks for the tips!
I must not get as cold as most people; and I love all weather.
What about rubbing Vaseline on exposed parts in the cold rain?
I needed this Saturday. Lol. Good for next time though! Thanks!
I just run with shorts a tshirt and a windbreaker maybe a hat for the rain but speed and time is everything I care so I try to reduce weight as much as possible
When is the “stay lit, dont get hit” merch being released?
haha!
just a little tip for the next videos: There is a sortof humming sound in the background.
Been doing it for 3 years and counting! Completely shirtless is my way
Loved this! Could you do one for running in the snow/ice for us Canadian runners? 😃
Good suggestion!
are both jackets water proof or one of them water resistant?
Where was this video when I moved to WA two years ago?! Too late now and I already moved to SoCal.
Also waterproof spray does well on hats and shoes to keep you dry as long as its not torrential rain
Good to know!
Where is the headband from?
Anyone likes to get wet running in the rain? I do. Hope Im not the only one tho.. No jacket. Shirtless if I can, it feels sooo so great!
If only they let large chested women run in the rain shirtless
I wish you guys put in links

Agreed- a zipper on the base layer can be great to get some airflow when you start overheating!
Unless you are made of sugar running in the rain is fine. Could actually be fun especially in the summer.
Not having wet socks or feet though, it makes your skin itch and feel disgusting.
Excellent tips !!! Thanks :D

It will take some experimentation with your own gear, but it sounds like with all of that you probably wouldn't get water inside your jacket!

getting too cold in the raining run? RUN FASTERRRRRRRRRR
Helpful
Dont go out if its raining with thunderstorm ! #proTip
what about drying out the shoes
Are on running shoes durable in road run ?
11:26, your jackets are not covering the bum and crotch areas, in heavy rains that will be a big issue
Hence running without underwear is better to avoid chafing

Oh yeah, that can be annoying for sure. Have you tried a baseball cap with a nice big brim?
I run 10k through the rain wearing the same outfit when its not, this is so much pampering.
Its 4 in morning and i want to run so watching that......
The same, bro 😂
But I’ve got smart shoes, I guess I’ll have to find out what happens next..
Can anyone tell me what to dress when running in rain in summer?
All videos tell me what to wear in cold weathers
Something that definitely wicks away moisture (so as to avoid blisters) but that doesn't trap heat.
Ran in rain now I'm sick 😑

They literally say as much ....
I wear shorts and a sleeveless shirt in the rain
That`s a good idea to rain in the rain because you will get wet anyway
Pretty good
Anything Unser 35 degrees in Chicago I just say NOPE!!!! Haha

Jacket is nice

water good, fire bad
i run in storms 🤣

Oh no! The plastic bag trick really does work
Good information, but the background noise was too distracting.
Morgan’s pretty funny. Pretty + funny.
, but did you know that the girl on the right ran 50 mile race ;)
Jacket is 300 $ 🤣
💀😂
Can You Run With No Socks On Please?

Basically.. running with thousand of dollars
Them legs 😍
Right
