You are a huge force in adoption of this next generation of common tech. My dad taught me how to work on ICE's, I'll be teaching my kid(s) how to work on batteries and repack / rewire their electric equipment.
Hello sir , well done looks like will work awesome for those who like those headways ! I’m just a beginner just like a kid starting to learn how walk ! Thank you 🙏 for all the hard work you do for us !
And to add I would love to see you push big amps through the boards that'd be cool. And for anyone that hasn't handled headways. Use a #3 Phillips bit. You won't strip or cam a single screw
Many headways that I bought directly from factory comes always with #5 hexagon allen bit screw.
@John Papajohn and those I would prefer. The Philips screws are fine though long as I've been redesigning my car audio pack I haven't had any issues. But the factory screws are always preferred. Good to know that's what they come with. Are they steel or aluminum?
@@kswis chrome finish steel about a centimeter long.
I'm always happy watching all the good work you are doing. Just wonna let you know it's painful not been able to get hands on dem. Hopefully shipment get easier someday.

Ran some quick numbers to see what it should be able to handle:
150A will give you a 11C rise above ambient
200A will give you a 20C rise above ambient
260A will give you a 40C rise above ambient
This should have no issue pushing 150A without much of a temperature rise.
What would help is increasing the exposed copper on the bottom side where the headway top touches the pcb.
Also adding via stiching will help.
Great work
I ordered a kit yesterday
For some reason I was almost certain headways were constructed similarly to 18650's in that the entire side leading almost to the very top of the cell is negative; and that only the tip-top of the cell is positive
I'd rather see one made of 5S or 5S2P Lithium Titanate cells (maybe 66160 40Ah cells) . A bit voluminous perhaps, pricier and less energy dense as well but no longer have to worry about temperature damaging it. The dang thing would also last virtually forever.
Yeah, LTOs are very for high power loads. Even they can be charged at very high rate. Never seen it, but really want someone tests LTO cells...
Uh how can they last forever? They have a limit
@@johnle231 - the operative word was "virtually". But you're correct. The reality is that, while they can easily see well over 10,000 charge cycles they do have a limit. However, 10,000 charge cycles (roughly 30 years if charged once daily), would for most applications be essentially forever.
@@Tron-Jockey
What’s the deal with lto tho. From what I gather it’s chemistry wouldn’t be good for power wall tho right?
And yeah ok I got you now. 30years is a long time for sure
@@johnle231 It has some potential though. Great discharging and charging performance. The caveats I see so far are voltage and cost. Lower than LFP (2.6V) and thus lower specific energy. The use of titanium may make LTOs a little bit costly, I think...
would have been nice to see these boards work with the plastic cell holders batteryhookup sell and yes building in the balance wires would have also been nice
How many Oz. of copper on these boards?
(Had a *very* similar idea for some Ebike /emergency batteries I’m hoping to do.)
Note: wrote the first portion before the 1 Oz. thickness was mentioned.
Having a terminal to hook up voltage sensing would be very convenient. I don't mind the busbars and aluminum plate I've use but running the balance cables sucked. Not cause it was hard by any means but because it just didn't look as clean
Any chance of building one with the positive and negative the narrow end essentially making the series connection the other direction. I have mine setup in a box and the leads both exit on one end. Guessing I can just draw out the PCB just thought maybe others may have their setup like mine.
How many watts will a 192 ah bank support with a 270 Ohio Gen and a 370 singer alts?
so how much are the pcb's? Love it btw.. I went to the site but I don't want to sign up just to see the price for each board. Also why isn't that a set top and bottom?
Make yourself a jig from the holder/spacers. Fill the jig then put on the pcb's. I made a 70S pack for my prius, so far so good, I would like active balancing...looked like you first put the top pcb on backwards?
Yes, black goes to negative is what he said, so that board was on backwards.
cats did not like that beep
Can I order 4 of the 180amp terminals from you? Or do I need to get 10 from AliExpress? I bought one of your PCB boards last week
Hi love all your videos following from Cameroon wish to know how could I get some supplies from you sir
How many amp hours would this pack be?
Hey Jehu, Shouldn't You Have Placed The Printed Lettering Of PCBs Out So You Can See The Battery Polarities Even After They Are All Together? 🤔😁😎
Hy i am thinking to replace the IMA battery from my Honda with this type of battery. The honda is ~160v and they are 12 D cells in a stik with 11 stik pcs.... So i am thinking of using that for my hybrid... Many thanks for ideea
Those are some really nice bus bar boards!
You’re right, adding a little circuit board connector to attach a balance leads would be perfect!
Do you have male-to-male bolts(?) for the headway cells, so you can stack 4 vertically & use 2 circuit end boards to make a 48v battery?
Can you please provide a new Top Plate Gerber File, the Download fails on PCBway, thank you
this is all German to me. What is the Ah rating on this pack ?
Those cells are 8Ah each, and there is 8 in parallel so 64Ah, 4 in series makes a nominal voltage of 12.8v, with a voltage range from 10.4v to 14.4v.
got a link for some screws for these cells???
Will Prowse called. He said to pre-charge the capacitors in the inverter before hooking it up.
How does he suggest I do that?
@@jehugarcia With a resistor, or anything that acts as a resistor, like a 12v light bulb in this case would had worked well. Back in the day, when they used to sell those 5 farad capacitors for car audio, they would include a resistor in the package to get the capacitor voltage to slowly come up to match the battery before you hooked up the capacitor in parallel between the battery and amplifier. I imagine a 10 ohm resistor should work fine, as long as you aren't trying to equalize a crazy amount of power. I've seen people connect the battery ground to capacitor banks and use a 12v test light to connect to the positive of the battery and the positive of the capacitor bank, and the test light itself will act as the resistor and it will charge the capacitors. Anyways, any resistance you can put between the battery and the capacitors will help slowly charge the capacitors safely so the capacitor banks voltage and the battery voltage is close to the same when you make your final connection
I use a variable power supply, I’ve made videos about it.
What was that battery cells measuring unit called? And where can you get one?
The battery size is 38120, according to his link in the description. 38mm in diameter and 120mm tall.
What’s the price for the plates? Thanks
My eyes must be going on me!! but' was you tiered enough to get your positive and negative the wrong way around!! Making your converter not to work that way?
You saw that right but I fixed off camera, so not the reason the inverter not working
Completely over my head websight would like to somthing just a bit more heavy duty and hit buy now
How can I get these in Nigeria 🇳🇬 (Africa).
Hi jehu I pray you see this, I’ve been a loyal fan and follower of your for more some years now, I really love all you do about alternative clean energy. I really would love to build one of your power walls in my home country so as to help my community as well as other in solving our electricity needs. To be honest we are almost in total darkness over here, we barely have electricity for up to 30 days in a year, our energy sector is almost non existent. So please sir I’m willing and ready to purchase batteries and PCB modules from you so as to be able to at least live a normal life like the rest of the world. Please reach out to me if you can. God bless you.
A cliff hanger
First. Keep with the good vids bro!
you should check out conventry bars for headways banks, just to compare.
7:45 you mentioned those soldered pieces are rated for 80 amps, which is only enough for 4 cells in series at 10c. which some people run harder, from what i've read most say about 12-15c discharge is fine with these cells.
i'm not sure what other people use these cells for, but in the car audio community these plates just wouldn't cut it.
great idea for people using them for small amounts of discharge, but it would be great to see some implementation of this design with thicker plates for full use of these cells.
He deleted my comments on his other videos where he claims this is capable of 500.amps, then you have people commenting wondering why they're boards are melting or welding themselves to cells... This is a bullshit product, if you need high amperage draw from your cells don't use cheap hardware like this. Buy or make yourself some proper bus bars.
They are 180A so both should do over 300A
since its 12v why do you use an inverter for the load, why not use some 12v car headlight(halogen lamps) instead?
Because I would need 100 of them
Do you know how many CCA a battery like this will provide? New vs used cells
2400A on dead short
@@jehugarcia how can I find a bad cell in the bank? I have a 64ah bank that was kinda sagging . I used a regular car battery analyzer and tested it 400cca.
So I pulled the battery out, slow charged it with my power supply and retested… Amps went up to 1070cca. So Here is where It got confusing to me…. I removed one roll of eight cells. Amperage went up 1277cca. But why?
I put the 8 cells I removed on a bus bar and they tested around 400cca. cells were holding 3.6v and mfd:2021
Idk what to say, I guess I’m going to put it back in service tomorrow.
crank an engine that ought to test it even a disel truck bc its so overkill but haha inverter fail
Ciao amico🤝🔋come sempre ottimo lavoro 👏🎞.dove si possono trovare questi supporti Top ?online
