❤ This lady has taken hold of traditional country music and kept it so much alive. I love her sticking to her traditional roots. What a true joy it is to listen to her. She totally embodies the true meaning of country music. God bless you Rhonda. ❤
I went to several tapings. At first it was at Northstar Studios in Nashville. Later on in was in a smaller studio in Columbia Tn. It was always a great time. Sorry to see it go.
Just found your channel. Great country music at Larry’s Country Diner. Have watched for yrs. Lovvve Ronda Vincent and Gene W together also. I have all these songs purchased from ITunes along with 1000 plus old country This rendition hits me same ‼️. Her voice is one of the best Amazing dead on voice. Love George too but that whining steel is amazing Great instrumentals from these players too amazing Thank you for playing. I never get enough of these old songs ❤.
I’ve always been amazed at how great singers and great musicians feed off of each other. Mike Johnson’s playing will make a great singer dig a little deeper and pour it right out of their very soul.
Whenever I hear Rhonda sing this song I well up. She stirs up so much emotion in me but that's mainly how she delivers the song and the concept and carefully crafted lyrics of the song itself. That loving someone special until you are dead and buried underground and possibly into eternity certainly hits a spot for me and I know that all this I am saying here will be said by many others too. I'd go as far as saying that Rhonda owns this song now.
Don, I don't know where to start, you have raised so many topics here. I sit here agreeing with you and nodding my head like you were in the room. First, your rating is so deserved. I remember when the Country Diner started and I always thought it was a set, but they serve real food. I think it became so popular because they have great guests, and it's about the only place they "serve" country music on tv. RFD has some shows, but they seem to be mostly repeats now. Marty Stuart had a great one. Now, about memory in dogs, at least. There is a crucial time in a puppy's life, somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks of age, where they will retain what happens to them forever. They need to be removed from the litter and socialized with people at this time, or they might remain shy for the rest of their lives. If something scares them - same thing. They remember. Did I forget something?
@joyce mcfee That's really good stuff you wrote, as I love considering new information and how it fits into my world view. Thank you, and keep it coming!!
This guy scores Rhonda a 10. Right on the Button Matey, couldn't have said it any better myself. Top Review from a Top Reviewer for a Top Singer also backed by Top Artists from Rhondas band The Rage with Mike Johnson on steel and the Sheriff. RIP Sheriff.
Uhhh, that was the AMAZING MIKE JOHNSON on the steel, the Sheriff was playing the acoustic. But I LOVE Rhonda Vincent for keeping the sound truly authenticity Country Music. And to answer your question, YES. Larry’s Diner was a real working Diner, (it closed for good in 2022) but it also was a music venue and a variety show that you were allowed in, and on by invitation only. They filmed in special blocks, often doing multiple shows a day, just like other TV and/ or music variety shows. Larry was a pretty famous DJ in the Nashville area back in the day, and when he wanted to expand his gifts, he came up with this idea in 2009 with the help from some pretty famous Nashville friends and his Son Adam, (who was a HUGE help, even filled in as Host on the when Larry broke is back in an ATV accident). If you are invited to play at his Diner, you are pretty special yourself. He is great advertisement for any artist. Or rather WAS. He also had GREAT SPONSORS, Boot Daddy along with PFI, Tarter USA and Springer Mountain Farm Chicken. A representative from each was in the audience of every show, and Larry gave them a chance to speak their spot on each week. Larry was a great friend to all who knew him, and we Loved him deeply, miss him tremendously.
Rhonda Vincent is one of the best female artists in Country music today. Here is one of my favorite videos of her singing a Dallas Frazier song, "Beneath Still Waters". ua-cam.com/video/W_FLJBoXroQ/v-deo.html
Rhonda is the Queen of Bluegrass. I saw she was performing near me, so I ordered tickets. I posted I was going on Facebook. My sister saw it and she & her friend David got tickets. They were blown away by the show. Her show with her band, The Rage is much better.
ray stevens built a building and gave it to larrrys country dinner and larry has a country cruise every yr i jan with 10 to 12 stars for 7 days i want to go go so bad
I know Rhonda Vincent is mostly a bluegrass artist, but when she sings a country song, I wish she would alter her usual style of singing a little bit by adding some vibrato.
Listen to George Jones sing this on the Wilburn brothers show . Teddy says at the end " when George sings a song it has been sung, don't try to follow him. George's version will be 11.😊
Just a phenomenal voice. Her version of this song rivals that of George Jones. The steel player is superb. She is an unbelievable talent, just like George.
It should be noted the song was written by Don Chapel, Tammy Wynettes husband before George. Don wrote it right around the time Tammy was running off with George.
Love her singing thanks Don . This has nothing to do with this song but has been on my mind . The Last remaining Bee gee, Barry Gibb Has Done classic Bee gee songs with country singers . Not regular videos but scenery in background of the song but I am requesting him singing with Dolly Parton ." Words " ua-cam.com/video/GnJqrLALsOc/v-deo.html Also I think The Bee gee song The New York Mining Disaster would fit country heart list .
Buddy Emmons was a great mentor to a lot of musicians (including Mike Johnson as seen here playing the steel guitar & it is tagged Emmons). RIP Jimmy Capps (The Sheriff), beautiful rendition of George Jones song also. Tammy Wynette also does a beautiful rendition (cause she had every single song was that George Jones ever did before they got married). Please do a George Jones version & Tammy Wynette version together of “I’ll be over you when the grass grows over me “.
I've been wanting Don to do the trilogy: El Paso Felina El Paso City Back to back to back. I think it would be great. Tie it together with Seven Spanish Angels.
I actually like Rhonda's version beter than the George Jones version! His is still good, I just like this version of it better,,,,,she puts her heart & soul into it.
1st, please don't interfere with the song in the middle of a performance. Larry's sound man always gets the best mix of a show I've ever heard, and I have seen hundreds. I play pedal steel guitar and regular guitar and have been at the mercy of many sound systems and engineers who didn't mix it right. Of the loads of steel guitar shows I've seen it seldom was this perfect. My 2 cents.
Rhonda, Rhonda, Rhonda, Help me. Why isn't she on the same stage as the woman superstar of Country? IMHO Rhonda is every bit as good as if not better than them. Americans have a habit of under rating their awesome Country singers.
She only gets better as time goes bye ! AWSOME!
Great way to start the day. Love Rhonda Vincent. Any time I see Larry’s country diner I know it’s going to be a great video!!
Just watch Mike Johnson’s expressions watching and listening to her sing… he knows the brilliance of what he is listening to.
And THAT is why Rhonda is the Queen of Bluegrass... She will be inducted into the Opry on Feb 6 and deservedly so! Incredible talent.. Thanks Don :)
❤ This lady has taken hold of traditional country music and kept it so much alive. I love her sticking to her traditional roots. What a true joy it is to listen to her. She totally embodies the true meaning of country music. God bless you Rhonda. ❤
Rhonda Vincent.. What a voice.. Best pure voice I have heard
I went to several tapings. At first it was at Northstar Studios in Nashville. Later on in was in a smaller studio in Columbia Tn. It was always a great time. Sorry to see it go.
She's one of a kind with a natural talent!

I listen to Rhonda’s version of this song almost everyday. Nobody’s ever sung it better.
I agree!
Amen well said. Me too
Agree Don! That was flawless! I've never heard this song before, so now I'm doubly excited to hear George's version tomorrow! 😃

Rhonda Vincent is one of the best female artists in Country music today. Here is one of my favorite videos of her singing a Dallas Frazier song, "Beneath Still Waters".
ua-cam.com/video/W_FLJBoXroQ/v-deo.html
Rhonda Vincent, the most underrated voice in all of country music! An absolutely incredible talent.

Mike Johnson on the Pedal Steel , great player with feeling.
Rhonda is the Queen of Bluegrass. I saw she was performing near me, so I ordered tickets. I posted I was going on Facebook. My sister saw it and she & her friend David got tickets. They were blown away by the show. Her show with her band, The Rage is much better.
Larry Black is a Major producer of Country Music. He also had his hand in Country Family Reunion shows.
ray stevens built a building and gave it to larrrys country dinner and larry has a country cruise every yr i jan with 10 to 12 stars for 7 days i want to go go so bad

Isn't she awesome?
Rhond is better than Jones.
It's a fake diner built in on a soundstage. It's just a set.
Rhonda, Rhonda, Rhonda, Help me. Why isn't she on the same stage as the woman superstar of Country? IMHO Rhonda is every bit as good as if not better than them. Americans have a habit of under rating their awesome Country singers.
Much better than George on this song.
