Hello DD, Thank you so much for saying so! Please keep liking and watching!
Could you do a video that explains the difference between technique #8245 and technique #8244?
Only Sarcasm. Nice Job!
Hello Duck, The emphasis is really not the technique number itself. Really, the lower the technique number is, the more important it is. Please keep liking and watching!
Awesome 👌
Hello Reloader, Right on! Right on. Thank you so much! Please keep liking and watching!
UA-cam suggested your channel to me. I'm truly glad. Nice work, and I like your sense of humor. Very interesting stuff. I have been watching videos on how to use a sewing machine. Every single one has been so full of jargon, I had no idea what they were talking about. I want, very badly, to know how to use a sewing machine and, perhaps, more importantly, how it works. I does me no good to know how to use something, if I don't know what it is supposed to be doing. In other words, how to deal with problems and make corrections and adjustments.
Sorry for the rant. New sub here. Cheers!
Hello Jaf, Welcome aboard! Thank you for the sub. I always say it is not rocket science. My best advice I have for you is, that if you already have a sewing machine, just to start sewing. Experience is the best teacher. Learning is doing! Just go for it. you don't need a reason to get started. At least that is how I did it 44 years ago. I think you can do it. Please keep liking and watching!
I love my Bosch foam saw 😳🤣.It's over 20 years old
Hello Jeff, It sounds like your Bosch foam saw has served you well. I wore out an old Bosch jig saw years ago. Please keep liking and watching!

Unbelievable!!
Hello Unfinished, I can't believe it's true! Please keep liking and watching!
Another great job! have you considered Upholstery for a living. LOL, I did 4 Barstools but they more of a chair bottom in a coarse fabric yours is nicer. Question do you have a Video where you covered something in leather? Have a great day! Les
Hello Lester, Yes, I have thought of it as well as thought of not doing upholstery. Really vinyl and leather is the same process. Please keep liking and watching!
Great Video. What was the width of the topstitch?
Hello Roller, I usually go about 1/4" to 3/8" topstitch from the seam. Now go practice your top stitches! Please keep liking and watching!
Yes I haven't seen that done in 40 years I think it's the school bus driver's seat anyway it wasn't round. We used do like 50 of them at a time I think it's once a year all the apprentice's would go down to the upholstery shop for the day this was in the 70s. Ours weren't as nice as yours but them lazy upholstery's could fix them lazy bludgers ❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
Hello Geoffrey, Oh, the good 'Ol days! Memories... Please keep liking and watching!
Is there a chance of you doing a video on how to fix a headliner board? I'm currently rebuilding a car that they no longer make panels for and the original board broke into 5 pieces in hoping it can be put back together
Hello Thunderjet, if you still have all the pieces, I would just put them all together and reinforce the headliner panel on the back side with fiberglass or the poor mans fiberglass method with burlap and wood glue. Please keep liking and watching!
@@oldschoolautoupholstery thank you I was thinking about fiberglass and resin thank you for the confirmation
@@thunderjet4294 Hello Thunderjet, Right on! Right on. Please keep liking and watching!
Perfect 👌🏻
Hi, what is the model of the sewing machine? I do it with Singer Heavy Duty but it is hard for curvy parts.
Hello Nhal, I use a Juki LU-2810. Please keep liking and watching!
Do you buy the dust cover material at Keyston Bros also?
Hello Valiik, Yes I do. But it can also be found at any upholstery supplier, or maybe even Amazon. Please keep liking and watching!
What process do you use to sharpen and maintain your scissors?
Hello Jim, You're not going to believe this, but I used to use a wheel grinder. After I didn't have that anymore, I use am electric hand held grinder. I can hear you cringing right? Works for me! Please keep liking and watching!
WOW! Never would have guessed a grinder. I was expecting you to tell me something about honing stones and a leather strop! Thanks!!@@oldschoolautoupholstery
@@jimgreen964 Hello Jim, I remember about 40 years ago there was a very old gentleman who used to make the rounds. He carried a little suitcase containing his fine electric scissor-sharpening equipment. Wearing his spectacles, he would sit and sharpen away with care. Nobody like that anymore. So after that, I took things into my own hands. Please keep liking and watching!
What gauge do you use on the sewing.
Hello Never, I am not sure what you mean gauge. I use a T-92 thread on everything. Please keep liking and watching!
Brother have you ever thought of writing a book on this with all your techniques included? I would pay for sure to have it don't get me wrong I love your videos but a guide book would be handy as well
Hello Thunderjet, Sorry to say that I have never thought of writing a book, so busy. Although I could probably write three books on my life's experiences from my innovations, Auto and aircraft designs, and manufacturing, living in China, all on my own dime. Also, Dieing of massive heart failure when I was 49 years old. A book about upholstery,, I haven't thought of that. Please keep liking and watching!
@@oldschoolautoupholstery you could make a fortune and keep the art alive doing it. I am a highschool cte teacher and have several kids that are interested in upholstery and I show them your videos from time to time for small projects
You do good work for a dead guy! @@oldschoolautoupholstery
@@thunderjet4294 Hello Thunderjet, Awesome that you are doing that. Whatever it takes to help the youth develop an interest. Not easy to do these days... Please keep liking and watching!
@@413x398 Hello 413, They say I was worked on for 45 minutes before they brought me back. The next morning, I thanked the team for not giving up on me like they do in the movies. Before that I was really smart, now I have half a brain. What I call a normal I.Q. now. Now I am 10 years old. Truth... Please keep liking and watching!
Is it ok if I use a China Marker that was made in Taiwan?
Hello Duck, I suppose if you can find one! If you are Chinese, Taiwan is China... Just sayin' Please keep liking and watching!
