Classic Shepherd's Pie: Simple & Scrumptious

Shepherd's Pie is a simple English and Irish dish. It can be served for lunch, dinner, or as an appetizer. Its ingredients are simple but its taste is extraordinary.
In this channel, I try to suggest simple and delicious dishes using ingredients that are commonly available at home, of course, I also use the seasoning of creativity.
Suggestions:
* You can use Worcestershire sauce instead of HP sauce.
* You can also use beef or vegetable broth.
* You can also use peas.
* Adding red wine is optional.
Ingredients (for 4 people):
* 1 lb (450g) ground lamb or beef
* 1 onion, chopped
* 2 cloves garlic
* 2 carrots, diced
* 2 tbsp tomato paste
* 1 cup beef, chicken or vegetable broth
* 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce or HP sauce
* 2 tbsp butter
* Salt and pepper to taste
* 4 cups mashed potatoes
* Optional: grated cheese for topping
* Optional: 1 cup red wine
