Breakout originally had lyrics written by Dave Walker (Savoy Brown/Fleetwood Mac). He replaced Ozzy after Technical Ecstasy. Ozzy decided to come back and he recorded Never Say Die. Wouldn't sing Walker's lyrics so Breakout ended up an instrumental. He also decided not to do Swinging The Chains so Bill Ward did it like he did It's Alright on Technical Ecstasy. Jon Elstar did the harmonica on Swinging The Chains. The brass arrangements on Breakout are done by Wil Malone. Bill Ward could imo have replaced Ozzy. Did some solo albums as well. Ward One: All The Way, When The Bough Breaks and Accountable Beasts. Also some albums with Bill Ward Band. Teamed up with Geezer Butler, Rob Halford and Brian Tilse in Bullring Brummies doing The Wizard on the first Nativity In Black Tribute album. Two albums with several great band doing Black Sabbath covers. Type O Negative did a very slow and heavy version of Black Sabbath.
When Dio started after this, it was still Iommi, Butler and Ward. as long as Iommi was there, it was always great. You'll like Heaven and Hell, especially Lonely Is the Word. After Dio was Ian Gillan from Deep Purple for one excellent album, and then it was the great and very underrated Tony Martin, who had the second longest tenure after Ozzy (and did one of Sabbath's greatest songs, "When Death Calls"). Then Dio came back, did more great songs, ultimately passed away, and then Ozzy came back for one more last album (13) before the band retired.
Theres one more 70s album with ozzy you missed called technical ecstasy from 1976, you'll dig it and Ozzy's first 2 solo albums are in the same league and you should check the live album called "randy rhoads tribute" that recording live show and era was the peak of ozzy osbourne, he got the best guitarist on earth after tony believe it or not and then it all ended abruptly when he died in a plane crash in 82 3 years after leaving Sabbath and ozzy has never been the same after that, bark at the moon from 83 is his last good album but if you really dig all things ozzy def check these ones out, i like these videos a lot its great i got to see the sabbath reunuon when i was 12 and 15 im 23 now theyve had a huge impact on me.
You're less than halfway through Iommi's great career. It's going to be great, trust me! He knows how to pick singers! In fact, he even did a solo album (called "Iommi") with different famous singers on each track (including Ozzy on one, and also Dave Grohl, Billy Idol and many others), which was incredible. Even his wife's band, from Sweden, Drain STH (which he wrote a song for, called "Black") was amazing. You have loads of great stuff to look forward to! Also, regarding the great Tony Martin sung "When Death Calls", Iommi brought in his best friend, Brian May from Queen to do the solo, which was very cool, since Brian May did a heavier Sabbath style solo than his normal style.
@thebannanaslugs2300 Although I do quite like 'Born Again' Bill Ward back in (although I believe he states he can't remember much about recording it ) and Ian Gillan singing. It's somewhat let down by the production of it which hopefully Tony Iommi will remaster next 👍
"Theres not a day i dont listen to Black Sabbath. " Same brother. Thats Bill on vocals. Ozzy refused to sing it as well as other issues which is why they canned him.
I saw Sabbath on their Technical Ecstacy tour in '78 with Van Halen as their opener before they were popular. I recommend you keep Sabbath's 7th album Technical Ecstacy in your hip pocket and react to the song Heaven and Hell to see if you like Dio era Sabbath. Definitely different but it kicks ass.
there is more Ozzy Black Sabbath the actual 7th album 'Technical Ecstasy ' Never Say Die is the 8th And Of course there is also '13' where the 3 original members minus Bill Ward (a crime against humanity😂) got back together in 2013, its pretty good So on my count that's 9 Ozzy fronted Sabbath albums plus at least 1 live one👍
This and Breakout are probably my two least favorite tracks of the original era, barely listenable. Can’t wait for Technical Ecstasy, Bill Ward sings It’s Alright like an angel.
I’ve been waiting no joke for someone to react to this song, it’s possibly my favorite of all time
lol glad I was the first

Bill Ward singing on 'Swinging the Chain'
Also sings 'Its Alright' on Technical Ecstasy
Pretty fucking cool aint it🤣👍
NO! It's NOT the last of Ozzy. I don't think anyone has mentioned "13" released in 2013, their last album. Don't miss it!

Wooooaaah
@@MarshmallowReactions 😊👍🤟
Honestly in my opinion every other singer after dio isnt worthy of any note, they never had the same swing after bill ward left in 1980.

BTW, where are your reactions to Johnny Blade, Shockwave, and Over To You? Are they MIA?
I’m still looking for Johnny blade and if you want the others I will upload them haha
@@MarshmallowReactions You bet I want to see them ALL! I love your take on all these classics. You remind me of how I felt when I first heard them.
