@@SabirTheHuman The leading theory on the Titanic is that it wasn't due to a bad design but rather bad administration. There was a fire aboard the ship that did some serious damage to the hall in the exact spot where the Iceburg hit. That fire happened BEFORE the ship left port but they covered it up. They also didn't have enough life rafts even though the ship had space for them. Why should Nvidia care so much about gamers? Gamers are making up less and less of Nvidia's revenue - most of their money is coming from datacenter, embedded systems, AI, and cryptomining. @Strawberry Kiys that doesn't make any sense. Crypto miners are the ones that will most benefit from having dedicated cards that only they can use. If they want him to advertise crypto then they want cards to make crypto with that no one else will buy before they get them.
Edit: plus you the block won't stop them buying them up anyways. They will be hacked regardless of nvidia claims they can't be. And they block only blocks ethereum so they'd still just use them to mine something else.

The dollars in existence went up 40% last year. It's only natural for prices to go up. We ain't seen nothing yet.
@@solaroid4442 I’m pretty sure it’s 60% basically on the verge of hyperinflation, we will most definitely see the results of it soon
@@solaroid4442 still that doesn't make much sense, when dollar in existence goes up, but the majority of people are no richer. Those dollars aren't going to people with mass buying potential. Printed dollars only account for a minimal percentage of actual economy that is ruled by digital finances held in banks and private non-physical accounts.
@@Real_MisterSir It makes the perfect sense. They stir up fear and instability, so people are afraid to spend, and keep their money in the bank or invested. At the same time the new money go to their friends and to the bankrupt government, and are spent immediately. It's the largest scam performed in human history.
Now we are seeing asset inflation (stocks and real estate), but when the fear dissipates and people start spending again it's hitting consumer goods. And then the fun part starts.
@@solaroid4442 I can't hear the issues over the sound of my non-American freedom
but on a serious note, economics are far more complex than what can be summed up in such a simple statement as "evil government is evil, bad people get money". Yes it is for the most part true, that rich get richer, and there are tons of issues with inflated inflation (aka disproportional inflation) such as prices for apartments, educations, etc which are not linearly scaling with average household economy, and so on. But these are not the schemes made by people who know how to make money. It's made by masses of people who don't find issues with the situation of things for too long, and then the wealthy people quickly find ways to exploit the ignorance of the masses. If masses stopped being so ignorant and started changing their ways, it would force change in the system as a whole. But too many people are too comfortable in their lives to do something about it.

@Strawberry Kiys you realise sponsors are required for the channel to keep growing, and for him to pay his employees?
@Strawberry Kiys I feel there's an element of truth here. Even though a direct comparison isn't valid due to the drastically differing business structures of Linus Media Group and Nvidia, the timecodes 0:09 and 0:50 really don't gel too well and frankly, put me off watching for one second more, though I did, and genuinely found many of his arguments both logical and convincing. However, ultimately he's criticizing a company for their reckless pursuit of "non eco-conscious" profit in the same breath as endorsing extravagant house branded merch and third party products via a tsunami of sponsored promotions, including hundred plus dollar men's grooming kits, T-Shirts, boxer shorts, hoodies, sweaters, pillows, scarfs and water bottles (all between twenty and fifty dollars each), and one of the most ubiquitous and arguably superfluous forms of internet service money can buy (VPNs). Moreover, all the while he continues to happily harvest commissions for a range of Nvidia products sold through multiple affiliates, including Amazon's influencer program. Apparently Nvidia pays its 18 plus thousand employees an average wage of well over $100.000 a year, I'm not sure where either Linus or those who agree with his opinion that "we're all just wallets on legs" to them think those salaries come from, but it might have just a little to do with shrewd form of free market capitalism that Linus and many other leading Tech channels seem to enjoy publicly shaming, whilst showing no sign whatsoever of ceasing themselves. I'm not against the principal, but criticizing commercial practices that you're actively engaging in and materially benefiting from is more than a tad hypocritical.

Harsh reality for everyone: nerfed 3060 mining is STILL profitable for miners.

miners count a lot on the ability to re-sell as well... its crypto they dont need to mine to stay green. The only way to fix this is for manufacturers to hardware block their cards from being able to mine, no idea how that would even happen. But they are a company and they are in the business of money so really they dont give a shit who buys their cards, they have enjoyed a period of 4-5 months now where they have sold 100% of their stock. CMP is just an exercise in selling the Silicon they cant turn into GPU's for whatever reason to further increase their bottom line.
I think linus has this one wrong, They do care about gamers, they need us to make money when theres no mining boom, they care about money more though. they are a business after all. none of this is gonna make me buy an AMD GPU though haha.
you could say this about any modern GPU no matter what is done to it if they mine with it long enough and the mining landscape stays in good condition
It is ONLY nerfed for Ethereum. Not only is it unfair and silly to ONLY target Ethereum...Ravencoin is just as profitable at the moment, and it's not impacted.
Nvidia is incompetent AND artificially limiting their hardware at the same time.
It’s a total BS move by Nvidia. Great once again to see Linus come out for consumers on this and see thought the BS Nvidia talk.
Looking at the hash rates on these alleged mining cards they are well below the 30 series. My 3070 is hashing around 57 with a little memory OC and limited clocks on the die. This to me suggests that Nvidia has major yield problems with the 30 series and these “specific” mining chips are badly binned stock that would not even be fit for the 3060 let alone more.
We have dealers officially scalping users charging $100- 300 premiums a live RRP and a lack of supply. Mining is the least of Nvidia’s issues and it’s nothing but a smoke screen.
I suspect the 3060 with 12gb of ram would run out close to the same as 3070 on ether and Nvidia simply don’t want to see that.
I’m not a pro miner or anyone who does this for a living but I should be able to use the card for what I want. I bought the card to game and edit with but I have been mining Ether the last few weeks as it’s helping to pay back the massive cost of the card.
As for their can’t be hacked nonsense I give it 3 weeks.
As always nvidia have shown what they really think of users once again.

May someone PLEASE word this out for me more basically I’m really stupid.
Nvidia has NO incentive to cater to you, the gamer, when miners currently represent a biggest return on investment (good business) , partly because they're willing to shed out more money than a normal consumer but also partly because miners completely destroy the second hand market by flooding it with useless, tapped-out hardware after using it for nonstop 24/7 hashing for months on end, thus forcing you to buy new (good business for Nvidia)
There's a silver lining in that BTC could have another price plummet (very likely considering this is how wealth is distributed to the top), and if Nvidia opens up their drivers in order to allow for underclocking (thus preserving hardware for far longer) we could reap the returns of cheap graphic cards as miners liquidate their assets (i.e. sell their mining hardware to coup for losses) but they won't because that could affect short-term profit (bad business on the short run)
That was a Linus move that shown you guys care more on be independant rather than focus on a major sponsor.
Well done !

I've really been wanting to upgrade my PC and the last couple months I finally thought I had enough money to do so, until I began researching for GPUs and seeing their prices. Damn....I'm stuck for a while.
Nvidia is the reason that computer parts and pc gaming are so expensive! Stop blaming Covid, or chip shortages, or supply chain issues, or scalpers, or even crypto! Nvidia’s products have always been overpriced, even before the pandemic, and forced other companies to drive up their prices to keep up!

AMD: Lets hold off on that new mining card release.
LMAO
AMD's mining cards can be used for gaming, I used a mining RX 570 and it works just as well. You just need an adapter for an HDMI display if ever.

It's not about loyalty. Linus is punishing a good company for a good decision it made. Totally different
