Yeah I thought Ben was spot on. People have to remember that the whole goat thing is a made up term. I look at is more as a fun conversation than some concrete way of singling out one fighter that's greater than every other fighter that's ever existed. If you want you could say Royce Gracie is the goat because without him mma wouldn't be the same. Or look at what GSP did in his era and he was a two division world champion. Demetrious Johnson completely dominated over the flyweight division for years and is still doing that in One Championship. And what Khabib did we've never seen before. As far his his skill level compared to his opponents it's the furthest gap I've ever seen. 29 - 0 flawless career and legacy. And not to mention he was involved in the biggest fight in the history of the sport with Conor McGregor and he was apart of the most highly anticipated fight with Tony Ferguson although it never happened. But what I'm saying is that his impact was huge. I think he's the p4p best fighter I've ever seen but other guys have more accomplishments. Again just depends on how you wanna view it. Love Anderson Silva and his prime was incredible but there's peds and many losses that I don't put him there. Jones also has the ped issue and too many controversies. Imo being a great you should embody that in and out of the cage and that's not something Jones has done. Not to mention almost universally people thought he lost to Reyes and had close fights with Santos and Gustafson. Would like to see Ngannou humble the guy because he's always going around calling himself the goat which you wouldn't have to do if you really were the greatest. To sum it up tho comparing guys from different eras and weight classes imo there isn't a goat. Let's just appreciate great fighters and people that can be inspirations.

Fedor, Stipe, Werdum, Anderson Silva, Khabib, BJ Penn, George St. Pierre, Jose Aldo, Demetrious Johnson, Dominic Cruz, DC, Jon Jones, are all up there for the greatest status in my eyes.
The difference with Khabib is there was such a great skill disparity between him and his opponents. With Jon Jones, Silva, and Aldo, at least their title matches were competitive mostly. Khabib crushed his opponents easily but he doesn't have a lot of title defenses. It depends on which you consider more important.
My top 10 P4P of All time/ GOAT LIST is 1. GSP 2. Anderson Silva 3. Jones (if he doesn't used the Steroid he absolutely the number 1) 4. Demetrious Johnson 5. Khabib(the reason i put him here bcus how dominant is him, never bleed, undefeated, even only lost 1/2 round in his entire career, i believe he can join the top 3 if he get Title shoot more early and beside 29-0 he go for 30-0) 6. DC( altough he's defeated by Jon Jones, this guy still in my heart. He small and "Old" but can be Champ Champ on Lightweight and Heavyweight) 7. Stipe miocic (beating DC twice and also can beat Ngannou thats amazing) 8. Cejudo 9. Amanda nunes 10. Gracie Future "GOAT" 1. Kamaru Usman 2. Israel Adesanya 3. Ngannou 4. Max Holloway 5. Jan Blach (Stipe miocic V.2 he really underrated fighter) 6. Islam Makachev (Training with Khabib and fight style like Khabib, but he's got no promise to his mother/father he might be become Lightweight champ soon)
Reasons why Khabib is the GOAT: 1. Most 10-8 rounds in UFC history. By far the most dominant fighter in the Octogon. 2. It's debatable if he even lost a round in a golden era in the most stacked division. 3. Has never been made to drop a single drop of blood in the Octogon or had a black eye. 4. Never cheated with steroids or any other way . 5. Was promised a title shot by the UFC way back in 2016, was sent a contract in to fight Alvarez for the title in Sept 2016 but was used as a pawn in negotiations and the lightweight title shot was given to featherweight Mcgregor. Mcgregor beat Alvarez and held the belt hostage for 2 years without defending it, further delaying Khabib's rightful title shot. So had to win 10 straight fights (in the most stacked division) to finally get his title shot whereas GSP got it in 3 fights and Jones got it in 7. Yet he still managed to get in 3 title defences. (How many defences would he have if he got his title shot in 2016? 6-7). 6. Was out for 2 years and came back from career threatening injuries without any ring rust and was still as dominant as ever. Dominated Michael Johnson with a 9 mm hernia in his spine. Fought Justin Gaethje with two broken toes. 7. A true champion by being a good representation of the sport. Humble and hard working - the values of mixed martial arts. Didn't need to trash talk to sell fights.
I really hope this guy worked non-stop on his stand-up(won't be enough to beat a world class fighter in that short time obviously).pls funky show decent hands
Khabibs the greatest lightweight fighter of all time, no matter who shows up to the plate while he's gone, they wouldn't last. But all time is George or Jones, cause this isn't basketball, belts is more of a goat status in UFC then anything, you are your own team, you gotta get it done yourself, so even though khabibs career was flawless and he has 4 defenses, Pierre has 3 times more title wins then him, khabib might have dominated while he was champ and before that. But he's only taken out 4 men for that belt. George took out 12 men for his. Including the middleweight belt.
Khabib had his first shot at the title after winning 9 fights in a row without losing a round, while GSP had it after 2 fights. Besides, Khabib cleaned the division ahead of time and beat all the important fighters except Tony which is a fight that didn't happen for bad circumstances and Tony became no more relevant. GSP tapped twice, and he was not good at finishing fights many of his fights ended in decisions, while Khabib finished all the important opponents he faced. Jones has been gifted several decisions and has the PEDs issue which deems his career illegal.
His 7 guy and point of view argument is what makes the most sense. Honestly, he lost 2 years to injuries and suspensions and he could have easily beater guys like Tony and add a few more defenses. Even exciting strikers like Connor and Gaethje looked like amateurs.
Its arguable to put Khabib at the top but he is in the list for sure. Jones shouldn't even be mentioned when it comes to GOATs as once your popped for steroid it just throws it all out the window.
Ben brought up great points. If Anderson Silva retired at the right time instead of continuing to fight he would’ve been considered the goat. If Jones never got popped for PEDs he would’ve also been considered the GOAT. Khabib did it so clean, but to be fair majority of his 29-0 record was against nobodies lol if you are a true MMA fan think back to Jon Jones rise to champ and every defense and who he fought against. The absolute best. Back then the light heavyweight and heavyweight division was where the hype was. Long story short imo goat list: -Jon Jones -GSP -Khabib -Anderson Silva
If Khabib hadn't retired he would be the current p4p best fighter in the world due to the fact that his performances got better as his competition improved especially against his last 3 opponents which are the top 6 of the lightweight division, but top 3 when Khabib fought them. However, Khabib didn't do enough to warrant the GOAT status as he never fought against an opponent who's extremely dangerous off their backs such as Oliveira or Tony for that matter even though I believe that he would beat them (especially Tony). In addition he never went up a weight class to face Usman, Colby or any of the best of the best at that particular division. I'm pretty sure that he would have beaten Colby, but I don't think that he would beat someone like Usman just because of how big, strong and skillful Usman is. There are too many what ifs in his career whereas with someone like Gsp he not only beat everyone he fought, but went up a weight class and defeated the champion (though with all due respected to the 1 eye OG, he was the easiest fight in the middle weight division out of the top 3 middleweights at the time). Had Jone Jones not tested positive for PEDS or whatever shit he rammed up his ass, he'd easily be the GOAT, but he always shoots himself in the foot which is infuriating given his god given talent.
Jones certainly should always be in the discussion, but the steroids usage and the last few fights that he arguably lost/were close should be mentioned as well.
Depending on how you view it (That sums it up). For me Khabib is the 1#p4p because his career was flawless: never lost, never bled, no draws or split decisions, and barely lost a round. Small correction: you meant that khabib might’ve lost a round against Justin, not Dustin.

woh, woh, woh ...Lets not get ahead of ourselves here m8.
Seriously he is a respectable guy . Strange how 5 seconds can degrade your whole career.
He was also undefeated for a decade before the lucky knee of Masvidal. Askren held multiple championship belts before he went to UFC.
Khabib vs Askren was a thing back then. Both undeafeted wrestlers.
Meanwhile Jake would be like ‘I can beat Khabib’s ass’
He’s THAT deluded.

Perhaps the most humble version of Ben right there. I hope he win against Logan’s little brother.
I just love how quickly he changed peoples opinions of him at the press conference. People went from ‘Jake is definitely gonna beat his ass’ to wow Ben might actually win.
Amazing what a face shove can do for people

Helen yee hands down best interviewer in the fight game never interrupts & has legit questions
TBH Khabib is the greatest of all time, Not because he is the best striker or the best wrestler NO his Fighting IQ is super high therefore never lost. Dustin and Justin are great strikers, wrestler and legs terminator even better striker. Khabib does not just win from those great guys, he makes it look easy
Even Dustin praised his fight IQ as the difference maker in his interviews. Watch the recent Joe Rogan interview with him.
Just subscribed to your channel for such an amazing consistency
For a fighter who has had multiple injuries and hits to the head this man is very well spoken and charismatic
It’s not the quantity but the quality
I like him for tht remarks.. 👏🏼👏🏼
Helen yee becoming more and more familiar, great job setting up all these interviews
Helen has the best arguments
Two best arguments
GOAT is a heavy tag to put on someone. The only person in my opinion who deserves it is someone who is great inside and outside the ring/octagon. Khabib for me is that man as he is a great role model gor todays youth in and out of yhe octagon. And his fighting style and the fact that he has never really lost a round and his record of 29-0 speaks for itself. GOAT
Khabib is the goat
GSP is a close second
I was intrigued for Nurmagomedov vs Chandler 🏆😬
Same bro
Anyone that mentions Khabibs name in their video getting a lot of views.
Khabib really took over the world of sports in the Justin fight..
"I will get on his back and chant USA"
I don't think we'll ever see a fighter like Khabib again. He was a beast in the cage and so gentle mannered and polite outside. Which person would retire at their peak and forsake the money for their mother?
Khabib is the Lightweight Goat
Well said. Good assessment
like him or hate him , Ben's logic is awsome
He made some valid points..........there is no set way to look at this.
We've seen get jones get rocked and close to losing, but Khabib never even had a cut.

I am a Khabib fan but GSP is the GOAT of MMA, but I think Khabib is the GOAT of all combat sports because he has so many achievements besides MMA in fighting sports similar to MMA like Sa mbo being two time champion and the international Pankration champion.
khabib destroys olivera
lol olivera a journeyman got destoyed on ground by anthony pettis, paul felder, donal cerrone and max holloy

His submissions only work against bums.
His all lossses are from top guys like pettis, felder, cerrone, frankie edgar,Max holloway, cub swanson.
And felder tkoed him on ground,
pettis, jim miller and Richardo submitted him on ground.
GSP & Khabib top of the list. Free to add other GOATs after them.
Ben came to the ufc to late he was tough as nails in his prime .
Him retiring without a loss looks like a mayweather move if you ask me, never moving to 170 was his worse move, he knew he wasn't going to be able to lay on everyone so he didn't even try
i wonder if ben invited helen to the pre interview swim. I would have
If Ben Askren started in the UFC during his earlier years, he'd probably be ranked as one of the most dominant athletes in the sport.
🤣🤣 bro he can't fight he's a fuckn joke this UA-camr is gonna whoop him his time in the ufc was horrendous Robbie Lawler dropped him like a sack of spuds with one punch yer he survived a bit of damage on the floor before his gift stoppage, he was down off one punch tho an this is a boxing match
Fedor, Stipe, Werdum, Anderson Silva, Khabib, BJ Penn, George St. Pierre, Jose Aldo, Demetrious Johnson, Dominic Cruz, DC, Jon Jones, are all up there for the greatest status in my eyes.
Soren being safely truthful
Khabib the goat , how flawless his victory were well explained by Ben
The more I hear from askren the more I like the guy
I agree flawless compared to others who have PED offences and other types of drug use ...
Who is the best? Ben Askren myself the same question.
Khabib for sure
Khabib was given a title shot waaaay too late so of course he would have less title defenses. It's not his fault
He right
I agree with Ben ... simply because no one even came close to beating Khabib, not the D1 wrestler or the self-proclaimed notorious king. No one
The difference with Khabib is there was such a great skill disparity between him and his opponents. With Jon Jones, Silva, and Aldo, at least their title matches were competitive mostly. Khabib crushed his opponents easily but he doesn't have a lot of title defenses. It depends on which you consider more important.
Helen catch khabib for interview plz
He's right.
My top 10 P4P of All time/ GOAT LIST is
1. GSP
2. Anderson Silva
3. Jones (if he doesn't used the Steroid he absolutely the number 1)
4. Demetrious Johnson
5. Khabib(the reason i put him here bcus how dominant is him, never bleed, undefeated, even only lost 1/2 round in his entire career, i believe he can join the top 3 if he get Title shoot more early and beside 29-0 he go for 30-0)
6. DC( altough he's defeated by Jon Jones, this guy still in my heart. He small and "Old" but can be Champ Champ on Lightweight and Heavyweight)
7. Stipe miocic (beating DC twice and also can beat Ngannou thats amazing)
8. Cejudo
9. Amanda nunes
10. Gracie
Future "GOAT"
1. Kamaru Usman
2. Israel Adesanya
3. Ngannou
4. Max Holloway
5. Jan Blach (Stipe miocic V.2 he really underrated fighter)
6. Islam Makachev (Training with Khabib and fight style like Khabib, but he's got no promise to his mother/father he might be become Lightweight champ soon)
I’m actually surprised that he didn’t even mention GSP.

Reasons why Khabib is the GOAT:
The way helen says whaa in the beginning was mad cute
I agree with what he says, but lets not forget about GSP...
For me it's 1) GSP 2) Khabib 3)DJ
#khabibtime
His 7 guy and point of view argument is what makes the most sense.
Honestly, he lost 2 years to injuries and suspensions and he could have easily beater guys like Tony and add a few more defenses.
Even exciting strikers like Connor and Gaethje looked like amateurs.
Khabib vs Askren could have been a great wrestling fight.
Gsp? Not even mentioned?

Khabib also doesn't have any fights where the result was controversial, like Gustafsson and Reyes fights
U guys understand that Chael did everything khabib did in 3 different weight classes
Literally didn’t make it 5 seconds without mentioning the boss
If Jon defeats Frances he is unquestionably the greatest of all time.
Its arguable to put Khabib at the top but he is in the list for sure. Jones shouldn't even be mentioned when it comes to GOATs as once your popped for steroid it just throws it all out the window.
GSP is the GOAT of MMA
You're going to win Champ 😉
Ben brought up great points. If Anderson Silva retired at the right time instead of continuing to fight he would’ve been considered the goat. If Jones never got popped for PEDs he would’ve also been considered the GOAT. Khabib did it so clean, but to be fair majority of his 29-0 record was against nobodies lol if you are a true MMA fan think back to Jon Jones rise to champ and every defense and who he fought against. The absolute best. Back then the light heavyweight and heavyweight division was where the hype was. Long story short imo goat list:
-Jon Jones
-GSP
-Khabib
-Anderson Silva
Khabib v GSP should have sparring session at least.
Khabib is the goat
Let me clear this. How many legends khabib fought? Then compare with how many legends Jon Fought? You will surely have the answer.
Yep, I'm backing Ben to do one over that you tube boxer guy
Jones certainly should always be in the discussion, but the steroids usage and the last few fights that he arguably lost/were close should be mentioned as well.
clearly people forget who Artem Lobov is!
