Holden made love to his friends wife. Because he couldn’t help it. The Portable Star by Isaac Asimov, that’s next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast.
There will come a time when we will run out of stories in the public domain to share with you that were written by Isaac Asimov, fortunately today, is not that day.
Considering when it was published in 1955 this story was more than a little risqué. By today's standards not so much.
Our story appeared in the final issue of Thrilling Wonder Stories Magazine in the Winter of 1955. There were 111 issues of the publication which began in August 1936. The magazine was born in 1929 as Wonder Stories but the name was changed when the publication was sold.
Turn to page 54, The Portable Star by Isaac Asimov…
Next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast, A Fantasy of perfection and imperfection. A take of a quaint city in the jungle and the curious fate that overtook a very clever thief who came there. The Unfinished City by Donald A. Wollheim

Actually, Asimov’s least favourite story. He did not like it at all, and refused to allow it to be included in any anthology or reprinted.

@marcob1105 you are correct sir! I thought about mentioning it in the introduction but I chose not to because I didn't want to influence listeners one way or the other. I still enjoyed narrating it, hope you enjoyed listening. Thanks for your comment and thanks for listening!!

A fascinating metaphor of spiritual warfare; knowing your enemy and distinguishing between your mind and theirs is key to winning the battle.

You will be glad to know that practically all of the Worlds Of If magazines are now in the public domain and are available for free online!
I hope they will be discovered and read aloud by human readers who can assign voices to the characters.

Robyn is busy selling the TV and narration rights to all the good stuff, it seems.

@TedSeeber, help me out here, who is Robyn? Thanks for your comment and thanks for listening!!

Robyn Asimov is Isaac's daughter, and since the death of stepmothed Janet Jeppson, has become the heir of all his copyrighted material. A talented TV producer in her own right, she works at AppleTV adapting her father's novels into movies and miniseries. She is the mind behind the recent adaptation of Foundation.

Do you have any of his robot series

@timmy18135 I do not believe any of his robot series stories are in the public domain. However, I have a friend who is much more knowledgeable than I am and he is checking on it for me. I do have another little known Asimov story that I'll be narrating soon and several more after that. Thanks for asking and thanks for listening!!
