This was my first year of being a hardcore fan. I followed the 36 Skittles car of Derrike Cope. Notice how a few series regulars like 75 Rick Mast and 90 Trickle failed to qualify. Meanwhile a couple of Winston West drivers got provisionals. In the days before Charters and huge entry lists it was a lot harder to qualify.
I think Sonoma should be the second race of the year to honor riverside on the place of the calendar (I know riverside was the first race but I think Daytona should be first race). Also, the beauty of the track in February. All that green grass versus the dry, brown, dull time in June.
1:39:30 Where is Rusty in this picture? They lined up with him in second but that looks like the yellow line off of pit road to score them and he's not there? This has consumed my thoughts all these years. I've lost my family, my job, my health... just pondering this question... where was Rusty?
Watching these nascar vids the things I notice the most, are production themse. Here a theme I notice here its called Death Race, that theme was also used in WWF Royal Rumble 98. ua-cam.com/video/xeR8GzpDBKQ/v-deo.html
We need some more road course track in nascar I love the regular style tracks but they help break up the season little different then just racing 4 turn circle and oval tracks
Mark Martin interviews are always great. Such laid back nice guy
love watching races at the full sonoma layout.
Loved the carousel!
Me. To
Loved that Ricky Rudd segment! He is a footwork master!
Thats one of the things I remember the best from '90s NASCAR coverage.
Aussie NASCAR fan here. SVG needs to see this. Rudd heel and toeing it 25 years ago!
Incredibly high quality footage in all of your videos. thanks so much for sharing
yeeeeah vintage sonoma! love this track!
This was the first Nascar race I attended in person. I was so happy Mark Martin won since he was my favorite driver at the time.
Last Cup Series race run to date with _more_ than 43 drivers taking the green flag.
Last time ever. I don't see more than 40 happening again.
That Ricky Rudd cam is one of the best. Can't walk and chew gum at the same time!
The Next 21 Years (1998-2018) Had No Carousel

Does anyone remember why they started 44 cars instead of 43 for only this race?
Final race with more than 43 starters
