I'm glad that they don't show the commercials. seems like every time they took a break, either a crash would happen, or they would make pit stops, and you wouldn't see that if you had to watch the commercials. They might show a replay after, but a lot of times they wouldn't even do that. Cool video! Thanks for putting it up
Man, what a race between the giants of Bristol! You have DW, Dale, Rusty, Jeff Gordon and Terry Labonte all running on this day. Throw in the Bush brothers and it would have been a Bristol Royalty race!
Me and my father were at this race Pull for dale Jarrett to win great memory with my father it was my first race at Bristol 130,000 people it broke the record for Bristol at that time
My first race with my father was at Bristol. In '97 he moved to Bristol. I told him buy a couple seats from your friends. He said none of my friends would be in to NASCAR. A day later he called me. He got two seats halfway up turns 1 & 2 from a neighbor 2 condos down. He lived about a mile and a half from the track at those condos next to the golf course. The following year we had 4 Seaon tickets as Bristol Motor Speedway's policy was tickets were sold by proximity to the track. And new seats were going up all the time then. Right between 1 and 2 in the Alan Kulwicki Terrace. 10 minutes after the race was over we were back at the condo grilling and watching ESPN sportscenter. I miss my Dad😢
It's a shame to see a lot of these seats covered up by tarps now. Just like Charlotte. The big grandstand in turn 2. Covered up also. I've sat in those seats and the view was great. South grandstand, mostly covered as well as the 4th turn grandstand, the blue ones. Almost like you're hanging over the track, covered up as well. You can thank the cokehead Brian France Jr. What a chuckle head idea. Overtime, playoffs, stage racing all need to go. And put the racetrack at Bristol the way it was before 2007. Meaning back to 36 degrees of banking and no progressive banking. No dirt racing. No novelty gimmicks anymore. Make this a major worldwide racing series that was way better than Formula 1 or IndyCar. 2 road races a year is enough. Pick the best 2 road tracks and stick with them. Or even move them around each year. IMS roadtrack sucks. No elevation changes. It's simple to see the downfall of NASCAR and fix it. Go back to 2003 and use those rules and those tracks. Then tickets would be hard to come by again, the tarps will come off the grandstands. Sorry road racing fans, you have F1 and IndyCar. Why did Brian France Jr try to fix what wasn't broken?
@@rolux4853they resurfaced the track in 2007. What they wanted was side by side racing. What they ended up with ,however, was making it harder for a faster car to pass a slower car as the more steeply banked upper groove made it extremely difficult for the faster car to pass on the less steeply banked low groove(24 degrees of banking)when the slow car monopolized the high groove (28 degrees of banking). I watched 2 races and gave up my season tickets that I'd held for over a decade. I've been to over 30 Cup races at Bristol and in my opinion the racing is terrible and everywhere progressive banking is at the racing is terrible.
Wow look at those stands, incredible!
It was a different time for NASCAR for sure

Awesome to see this one again, thank you : )
Can't get enough of that Turn 2 ground level camera shots. Why don't they use it more often now?

Was there last weekend and they have taken out every other row of seats all the around the track.

This 1998 Bristol race would be the last race my wife and I would ever attend.
No progressive banking = full grandstands
Can you tell me when they changed the track and why?

Not dirt = full stands
@@michaelhazen3153 Exactly...I couldn't have said it better myself
12:55 that's Kenny Wallace, not Mike Wallace
Love the channel keep it up
269 laps to go. Comment of the race. Mcdonalds anybody. Hahaha
1:13:10 Kenny Wallace t-bone Hut Stricklin
Another Bristol race where Rusty had the car to the beat and bad luck reared it’s ugly head. The man should’ve had 15 wins there haha.
As usual another asinine comment from this Rusty fanboy
Ah, but he didn’t DW will always been the Bristol king
Rusty is the man. Is this the race where he ran something over??
