Remember the times when was no tutorials on UA-cam about it and we need to learn on hard way , by discovering on the hard way. Old users know what i am saying. Anyway nice tutorial and you just made the life easier for newcomers. 👍👍
I remember if you got stuck on something and couldn't figure it out you had to buy a guide book, now things like mods can be so complicated that you need tutorials
Found this vid the other day and so glad I took the time to watch it. You taught me enough to understand AutoDrive and a good idea of what it can accomplish, and I've been able to set up my town on AutoDrive. So that when I need to, I can send an AI Worker off to take care of things without worrying about the Worker getting off track. I'm still fine tuning my route, having to reposition some points of the route and delete a few, but so far it's working like a charm. Thanks for the tutorial!

Great vid FSG, can’t wait to start using it in my SP game. After watching your Flint Hills Autodrive network video, I want to take some time and make a network for the map I’m on. I hope you do another video going into the more advanced settings.

Great explanation of the mod. I play FS since 2015 and always used courseplay for everthing. Selling stuff, combining, road from farm to fields. cleaning cow sheds, feeding cows. But only now 2nd of april 2021 I discover the autodrive mod and see how easy it could be. courseplay is great for field work but it's a hastle to use it for roadcourses. Thanks for this mod.

Thank You... finally found a 101 on AutoDrive, that did not confuse me more than educate me.... simple, straight to the point and without all the technical stuff and talk about algorithms that actually make it work.. sort of behind the scenes.... so here we go... first serious try with AutoSave... would not have managed without this .... Great Job.. ;-)

@@TheFarmSimGuy It went absolutely fantastic.... had my lumber deliveries running at first try ;-)... Then, when I realized that there are oneway routes and twoway routes, it all came together.... a oneway line from my cutting area to the "mainline"...a twoway mainline line to the entrance to the lumberyard ...a oneway line around the lumberyard and the unloading point..... onewaying back to the twoway mainline at the entrance/exit point and hook up to that..... and home to my Scorpion King...... amazing, simply awesome how easy things can be once you find the right "teacher"... this is going to make my lonely life in the forest ;-) so much faster and funnier.... I think what did it for me was paying attention when the "system" was compared to a railway line, who hasnt played with trains ;-).....thanks again mate.... PS... Liked and subscribed.... not gonna miss an important one again.....

Really good video. I use courseplay but wanted to learn to setup how to use AD for grain trucks to sale points and also for grain trucks to wait to get filled up by a grain cart and then dump in the pit for the silo on the farm and return to the point in the field. Thanks

Like course play it’s seems really complicated from the outside but it’s not. Great video showing how easy it is to get started and it don’t take much time at all.

Great easy to follow tutorials(I watched the latest one first) A problem I have is getting to a load point eg. the cow slurry pit, first problem is you need reverse in, the line on the reverse bit turns light blue when recording, the second problem is you need to select R on the keyboard to bring up the slurry load, I cannot get Autodrive to do this so far, it arrives close to the slurry pit and stops but does not reverse into the trigger, nor can I get it to self load slurry (if I do the reverse bit manually) for all I have it selected as the crop/product to load. I'm using the chellington valley map and taking the slurry to the BGA. Once loaded it tips fine unless the BGA is full. Any ideas if its possible and if so how? Thanks for your video help
In the settings of Autodrive you change it so that the course will connect at the start, or the end.
Hello mate, I was wondering if you had any knowledge on how to get Autodrive to load both hoppers on a wilson trailer and then subsequently unload both hoppers? I can't seem to find any info online.

Awesome tutorial! This is really going to help me set up routes to make things easier, especially with logging maps. I could cut down trees while I have a helper(s) running everything to and from the saw mill!
One question I have, though, is are the courses saved as part of the overall save game or are they tied to the map? Like, if I make a course in one game, if I were to start a new game, would it carry over to the new save? Also, would there be a way I could save a route and reload it to a new game on the same map?

Hi, No they are saved on an individual game save basis, so if you go into your save games, you can take the Autodrive_config.xml from one save game and just copy it to another game save (of course it has to be for the same map) but saves you having to do all the work again if you start a new game save.

That's great to hear! I was worried about changing the AutoDrive route on Ravenport, but I might have to try and do some editing now.
Also, what's the "Save Route" feature for on the pop up menu? I haven't been able to find anything about it on the mod description or Google. I assume it's to save multiple versions of a Route for the save game?

Yes that should work absolutely fine, the only issue I’ve found with Autodrive is dual hopper trailers, it’ll only ever recognise the first one 👍

I have a question is the auger supposed to detect that my trailer has 2 different under belly dumps bc after the first one is full it just stops? And when my auger goes to unload my combine it unloads to about 35-40% and leaves
Yes double belly trailers don’t work with Autodrive so switch to a single and it should be fine or use the Wilson B Train which is two separate trailers 👍
so if i want AD to cart for me in my combine how do i get the tractor to reverse into the tip point (Chellington Valley)
Just create your course and reverse in, Autodrive will relocate whatever you do when you create the course
hello could you tell me how to remove blue line route? im not figureing it out i can delete the green lines but not the bue ones thanks
It’s the same process, use the remove waypoint button when you are in edit mode

However, I don't always want the AutoDrive HUD on my screen when I'm in a vehicle. Clicking the tiny X obviously removes the GUI, but how do I get it back?
Thanks Aaron!! I believe it's Ctrl Home is the keybind, but you can set a different one in the keybinds if you wish 👍
Did you ever make the promised next part about "2-way courses"?
Mainly is there a way to record straight to 2-way or do I have to manually click each miiliion'th waypoint
Instead of clicking your left mouse button to start recording a course click your right mouse button and it’ll give you a two ear course 👍

NGL, Autodrive looks a lot like the vehicle system in Satisfactory.
That's not a bad thing. It's one of the things they got right in that game.
Need to make auto drive for dummy ( me). Lol. Do all courses need to be connected together or can you create several separate courses?
Technically no, but you won’t be able to make a vehicle jump from one course to another, you’d need to connect them if you want that to happen, best practice is to probably connect everything up then you’ve got the ability to send any vehicle to any part of your course 👍

Hi awesome tutorial. Beggining on Faming Simulator and wanted to find more about usefull mods.
Tehre is possible to have more than 1 saved course of autodrive or we must connect 1 big course with stops for each job orthing to do in that big course? Or can I have smaller loops saved separeted from each other?
You can do both, I find having one main course and then creating additional loops is the best way, think of it as a train line so everything is linked 👍

Yes go into the game save and delete Autodrive.xml to get rid of the whole route

Can someone help, On every farm all my vehicles have gone and if I go into workshop I cant see any vehicles the background is black and if I just buy something blind it says
it cant load vehicles as the area is blocked?

@@TheFarmSimGuy Yes, went through the list of mods you put up and added a few that I didn't have.
Ok got rid of some of the mods, everything is working again but all the vehicles on my farms have disappeared :(

You need to be in edit mode

Nice tutorial, helped me a lot, but once you close AD how can you reopen it?
You just need to hit Alt and 0 (Numpad) alternatively you can go into the keybindings and set your own keys to open it 👍

I have a problem... i made a relative big auto drive system at one point and every time i am looking at it i have laggs down to 17fps.
Do you know how to fix it?
When you are in edit mode? That’s likely to happen as it’s dealing with a lot of data and points. I also don’t know what GPU and CPU are. It could also be the map you are on too?
@@TheFarmSimGuy it don´t must be in the edit mode and in the task maneger nothing is over 50% (GPU RTX 2070 SUPER+RYZEN 5 3600+16Gb 3600mhz Ram) Oh and old timers farm 4x V1.3
That’s a bit odd, and you’ve got a chunky PC so no issues there, what map is it?

Good video, just a question how to delete a route in the easiest way?
It depends what you want to do, it's not the easiest thing to do unless you want to remove everything from a map, to do that you just go into your save game and delete the autodrive XML. If you just want to delete one course, you need to make sure you are saving each of your individual routes separately as you create them

You can adjust the settings in courseplay so it doesn’t miss bits, try upping the overlap on headlands from 7% to 20% and use turns instead of smooth for your corners 👍

AUTO DRIVE DON'T WORK FOR ME
too long winded. I believe when making tutorials, you should be as brief as possible. This way, you cover alot more in a short time span. I do very much however like this tutorial.
Thanks I appreciate it, and you are of course welcome to your opinion, I on the otherhand think it's important to, explain not just the steps but the reasons for them, and that takes longer.
