I have been reading the Shannara saga since 1993. I still can’t believe it’s over.
Very envious that you have met Terry Brooks and on numerous occasions.

Extremely disappointed with this book. Three thousand years after Allanon and the 4 Lands have made almost no technological progress. There are non descript airships as Brooks is terribly vague on world-building and the airship battle is stolen directly from Reynolds' Terminal World. Dark guy huddled in the corner of a tavern is too Striderish and feels like a rip off of Tolkien and Jordan. The reigning Druids are weak and the protagonist rogue druid who happens to have a Merecat ally ( Walker Boh repeat anyone? ) befriends an innocent young girl descended from the Ohmsford family and promptly puts her in lethal danger. This was more of a slow paced walk through nostalgia and does not deserve Shannara in the title. Brooks reminds me of Bon Jovi in that everyone is thinking, just stop already. It's turning pathetic.
