You asked for Mercury Retrograde experiences so here goes…I was deep into treatment for cancer when my Dad died, but was in charge of his services. My Dad was a WWII veteran having served 4 1/2 years in the Pacific Theater setting up equipment in the front lines. I planned through a funeral director and Mercury was retrograde. My chart is ruled by Mercury, having Gemini Rising. The day of the services at Fort Ripley, Minnesota, we were all gathered, I was all bloated from my treatments, waiting for the preacher to arrive. He got lost and was 1/2 hour late. Then when it came to doing the honors the local VFW performed the services and I had specifically asked for the Fort Ripley honor guard. Because of both of these conditions the funeral director told me there would be no charge for their services.
A few years ago I experienced a Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn and it was amazing for setting up goals for the next year. It set up a really good period of time for me and I was able to move forward into a position at my job that paid more. I kind of love Mercury Retrograde because it gives me time to slow down and focus on important parts of my life. This time, I'm really taking another look at self-care routines (Virgo), creativity/downtime (Leo) and since it is in my 4th house, strengthening my foundation.
I would like to share my experience here. I have Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius in my natal chart and a few years ago I realized that these periods are the best for me. When the rest of the world complains that everything is going backwards, everything flows better for me, in an exciting and even thrilling way. It's wonderful. Today, for example, I found out that I was offered a new job and I'm very happy. I'm really curious to know if other people with Mercury retrograde natally feel the same way, I haven't seen many people talking about it!
I’m a Virgo sun, Gemini rising and tend to feel the retrogrades coming on. I get more easily frustrated, miscommunication and lack of control. Also more internal conflict and indecisiveness during those times. But learning to try to flow with it.
I just now found out there was an unexpected delay in processing some important financial paperwork due to an error my bank made in 2022. As it turns out this error was in my favour as a separate error was made by me (recently) which would have been even more costly. The net result is that going over past documents carefully has benefited me in the long run. So thank you Mercury retrograde!
I just looked up when Mercury entered its pre-retrograde shadow before this current retrograde and it was 24 hours before the Crowd Strike update that caused all the computer and flight issues around the world. I’ve always wondered about the shadow period and this is a great explanation. Thanks for the informative content, Chris!

Great video! I remember I travelled abroad for the first time in 5 years during a retrograde and I was so determined to be prepared for any delays and made sure I had travel insurance etc. So travelling to my destination was great and i had two flights there, but when I was returning, waiting to catch my last flight, i checked where my luggage is as I had put a airtag in and saw that my luggage was stuck in the previous airport. So I made calls etc and onces I got home it took two weeks for my luggage to get delivered back to me which was quick ... Just when I thought I had a smooth travel the mercury in retrograde had other plans 😂
I like your explanation and I've subscribed. I'm an amateur astrologer and I'm always happy to learn something new. One thing I want to add about Mercury retrograde is, it can be a good opportunity to revisit something, ponder or do research about a future decision. Whether cleaning an actual closet or a mental one, it's sometimes helpful to take a break from the action. I usually look at my chart and see where I might want to slow down.

It can be frustrating and I think that I need to pay extra care to my health and commit additional time to travel. More recently, I've noticed that I should pay extra attention to commitments and plans that I sometimes have to rethink. I wish everyone the. best with this one. Blessed love.
I am a stellium Pisces with a Gemini moon. Mercury gone retro usually effects me enormously. I have needed to find a way to center myself when it occurs. For me I have found a combination of a couple of days of fasting and upping my meditation sessions renews me enough to more easily deal with this experience. So far I have had a car that is acting petulant, a bathroom sink that has required a plumber, a dog who is having health issues. All within the last 3 days...I think that these cycles of Mercury simply uncover hidden problems and force you to deal with them NOW. The benefit is clearing the way for a smoother experience when it's over.
The travel disruption was spot on！ Due to Tropical Storm Debby， flights to Florida Panhandle were canceled on 8/4 & 8/5. My husband had to stay ａ night in Dallas and took ａ detour flight yesterday to another airport that is two hours away. We had to spend 4 hours on the road to pick him up，instead of the normal 35 minutes. Perfect manifestation of Mercury Retrograde by cancellations， delay & detour in one trip😂
I'm in Virgo profection and during the past two mercury retrogrades I had car accidents. And it took almost the whole retrograde to fix my car with insurance processes and whatnot. Thanks to your election time video I noticed the time I had accident coincided once with rising Virgo and the other time with the rising of Gemini.

Yesterday our car would not start due to faulty starter, although it had been working fine all times prior to yesterday. Today one of our plane trip was delayed(Aug 5, 2024.) Mercury retrograde indeed. Just be patient and make necessary adjustments. Thank you Chris for great informative videos.
Thank you! I like to think of retrogrades as review time. Otherwise it is always try to be prudent to exercise caution in the use of pen or tongue, and to allow for extra time allotted to travel. I always find your podcasts and posts to be helpful, so thank you again Chris!

During the pre shadow period I was like I can handle this, it ain't so bad! Issues and frustrations hit me so hard today, I just want to teleport myself to another dimension. I am a natal mars virgo in my 10th house...I love structure and good communication at my work. I'm telling myself to take things one day at a time, but its difficult -__-
My best friend is natal Mars in Virgo .. conjunct and sandwiched between Uranus and Pluto in the 4th house (14.14.16degees respectively AND a is Sun Sagittarius with Gemini rising). She’s has the same phenomenal work ethic…. And is going bonkers at this time with time management between (??). Home, work and self care!). Fortunately it trines Jupiter in Taurus in her chart for stability…but she is still struggling despite her incredible stamina and work structure .. and Taurus squares her Moon and Saturn. I feel like she is drowning in responsibility…. … being a Sagittarius.. she’s an incredible swimmer. Oh! And I think fortunate for her she has Mercury in Capricorn … Still! I am amazed and sometimes worried at the stress and hard work she takes on and deals with in her work and home life … sacrificing so much of her independent spirit (Sagittarius Moon in Aquarius). I've been neglecting my health for some time and I told myself my health takes priority over my job. Home life has been hectic as well and I had to distance myself from family members that don't care to grow with me. I'm a cancer sun/mercury/venus, sag rising Jupiter rx and pisces moon/saturn rx, scorpio 12th house Pluto rx. I hope your friend gets better and I'm glad she has your support and friendship. The calm waters will come after the storm! I'm also trying to see the silver lining in all this. This reset is needed to gain insight about the things we've been unaware of or choosing to ignore.
I have natal mercury retrograde, in the 9th in Aquarius and it’s the ruler of my moon and ascendant in Gemini. Every single mercury Rx I feel like life speeds up and things are finally functioning at a normal pace. It’s the opposite of typical Rx experiences. I have heard a few astrologers say that people with natal mercury Rx placements typically do not experience transiting mercury Rx’s like people with out mercury Rx in their natal charts. Mercury is Retrograde in my natal chart as well. I often feel as though life runs more smoothly for me when Mercury enters its Retrograde period three times a year. Usually it's the Retrogrades of other planets that are direct in my birth that cause problems for me.
I think this might be dependent in large part upon natal rulerships and aspects. I have had the definite feeling that both campaigns are well aware and astute of the significance of Astrology. They are quite focused on debates dates! Go Kamala!! Go Constitution and birth chart of the USA. Take a look at those charts! Also…. The Founding Fathers (authors). The Universe is actively at work defending their creation. Life Liberty and Freedom for All.

Last time Merc Retro'd in April, with Mercury still active as LOTY, I had to open a new bank account, and it took 3 solid attempts and visits in branch to achieve a seemingly simple task. The first visit was during pre-retrograde shadow, and I had missed some documentation required. The second visit was during Retrograde, and the bank themselves had an abundance of technical snafu (plural). The third and final attempt was post Retrograde shadow, and I was so prepared it was neurotic - I knew their systems were back up because I called in advance to check. I had all the documentation and then some. It went through without a hitch. This is an extremely mercurial but mundane example including communications, organisation, documents, banks, and technologies. It was just inconvenient! Nothing to fear and a reminder to be more organised. Classic Mercury retrograde. I wasn't even mad. It was Astrology Good ™️
Because of Mercury Retrograde at Christmastime 2023, it was a "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" (good 1980s comedy w/ John Candy) one for me- so when I finally got to my destination we watched it. The Mercury retrograde was still in effect on my return home, so I left a lot of extra time, (that I did need when I found out there was no record of the ticket I had purchased) to sort things out at the airport and remain calm. Always leave extra time when traveling during Mercury Retrograde I've learned. I'm consciously sitting out this August cluster f**k of mutable planets hitting each other combined with this Mercury Retrograde- for me it seemed like my best option- spend some quality time reflecting and reevaluating before making any moves at the end of the month. I'm SO grateful to Chris for stepping up to be our leader on this astrology quest- I love that little Scorpio quip, "It makes me suspicious" We are in good hands with Chris.

I thought that was very interesting…retrograde in Virgo, and the “retro” return of four previous patients/residents that discharged three to four months ago.
I bought a set of headphones during Mercury R, that came with faults in sound and microphone. Never returned them, but tried to make them work. Bad purchase. I bought a laptop during Mercury R: it came with a large pink stripe on the screen. I signed a contract for an apartment during Mercury R, turned out I had missed an important line that made me regret renting it and I was stuck there for a year and a half. Whenever someone I’ve been out of contact with for years reaches out, it’s been during a Mercury R.

My experience with Mercury retrograde was our contractor starting/building a deck surround around an above-ground pool. It failed city inspection and had to be revisited twice because he built to provincial code rather than city code (I live in Canada). $$$$ So frustrating!!! I've learned, designing is okay. Someone I know is travelling across the country right now, starting today, and when she went to go fill up her car ALL the local gas stations in the small town she was going through had no power - which means no gas. Thankfully someone sold her a couple gallons to get to the next station/town further out. She's a Virgo Rising AND in a 1st house Profection Year.
I had some interesting experiences with Mercury Return, both direct and retrograde. In April 18th 2022, I had my Mercury Return direct, that day exactly I was selected on a professional contest. In April 27th 2023, my Mercury Return was retrograde, in that day exactly my ex broke up with me unexpectedly and I got totally crushed. That was when I followed the white rabit into the world of Astrology and I'm loving studying it. Sometimes Mercury retrograde can be liberating.

Waiting to see what will come up although some miscommunication, forgetfulness and conflict already today. We had some BAD hail ( ICE CUBE AND GOLF BALL SIZED) in our city today (Calgary, AB, Canada) and we will have a claim on our house and car due to hail damage. Partner has Leo 2H and Virgo 3H with a Virgo moon at 13 degrees. A whole lot of review and revision coming up of our finances, property, car etc.

I am a virgo rising and my annual perfection is gemini, 10th house. This year Im all in changing work! I went for an interview and expected to get the result this Monday. Instead I will have to do a personality test and a second interview after that, totally retrograde stuff :)

when i first learned that mercury rx was real: april-may 2023. signed the lease and moved in to my first apartment during mercury rx. first of all, the portal for signing and submitting documents wasn’t working or picking up on the fact that i signed, so i had to email copies of all 12 or so documents. the good news is that in the process, they gave me new docs to sign and accidentally wrote a pretty significantly lower number on there for our rent, so we got a lower rent than we were supposed to get for the entirety of the year, because they signed off on it without noticing until after the fact. so that was cool. second of all, i was moving out of my parents’ house 15 minutes away. their house was full of black mold making me extremely ill, and so my doctor made me clean off every. single. item. with alcohol before bringing it into the new apartment. the only exceptions were things that could be put into the washer. i had to get rid of and replace everything else. so this took hundreds of hours to clean every single item. then, when i was transporting my barbell along with one of the many car fulls of weights, a raccoon ran out in front of my car. (it was dark out.) i braked and the bar flew forward and smashed into my dashboard, causing my hazards to turn permanently on until i pulled the fuse under the hood, but this meant i now had no turn signals. i couldn’t get my car into the shop for weeks to get it fixed because they were all booked (probably from other peoples’ mercury rx problems, bc this isn’t normally the case when i need to bring it in). so i had to use arm signals out my window for weeks and couldn’t drive at night anymore as a result. and then, every single appliance in our new apartment malfunctioned one at a time in succession for the next 6 months of living here. bless the fact that our maintenance team is god tier.
What was aspected in your chart? House rulership, aspects, etc? I have experienced vehicle issues or worse when Mars and Mercury “collide” by opposition or square…

the good news is that being an exalted ruler in Virgo Mercury usually manages to sort things out even in retro. With squares to Mars and opposition to Saturn there's a lot to fix just now
A few years ago I boarded a flight that sat at the gate for hours. The pilot explained that somehow due to a technical glitch the manifest had been completely lost. We all had to deboard and reboard again, and after 4 hours we finally departed. Not long into the delay it dawned on me that Mercury had just stationed retrograde, so I was quietly laughing about that while everyone else was losing their mind. But I ended up getting a voucher for a free flight and was able to book a second vacation which was great! And just yesterday when Mercury stationed retrograde, I went to see a movie and kept thinking on the way there, somehow something will go wrong. When we got to the theater, they told us they had to cancel the movie because of a bunch of technical issues. They apologized and gave us a free ticket to come back later. I'm discovering Mercury retrogrades are full of freebees!

Post times (2 weeks following) I have/see more experiences of effects of Mercury retrogrades. This time the last two weeks have been busy experiences. Vehicle issues, connectivity issues with wifi/cell service/communicates, thinking overload and tired from it, can’t get enough online activity for mainly learning and some entertainment (I didn’t even consider the pre-weeks of Mercury retrograde😮), energies moving faster with me beginning sooner doing things each day, and of course the world had the big SNAFU of Microsoft software, then the next week some kind of technology SNAFU. Neither of those SNAFUS directly affected me.

These are true of transits but also VERY VERY significant if it is Rx in your birth chart when it stations progressions, etc. Such a huge shift in my life when Mercury stationed Direct.
Thanks Chris! Loving the quick informative videos you’re experimenting with. Though you’re my favorite podcast host because I do generally love the in depth nature of the long format. Anyways I don’t fear mercury retrogrades at all. I’m aware of miscommunications and delays as a theme but I would also say that’s a theme if you’re trying to force things in the external world. I find mercury retrograde to be a wonderful time for more yin practices. You can have a lot of success with meditation, journaling, and even more psychic types of communication in my experience. That’s how I experience retrogrades for any planet honestly.
I didn't know tracking them can help understand them, or that a profection year is important. I appreciate hearing that. I remember one year I had issues with my internet and had to engage with the corporation. It was a total nightmare that was ongoing the entire retrograde, and then cleared up after the Rx ended. That's the only one I can think of that I was aware of both the issues and Rx at the same time. Years later, I still do not recommend Comcrap. Their customer service is always in a Mercury Rx. 😂

I have Mercury retrograde in my natal chart, in my 11th WSH Libra, conjunct my MC, Venus is in the the 11th house as well. The last Mercury retrograde in April in Aries, I received word of a gift of money being given to me by my mother.. the email arrived on the first day of the retrograde, which also happened to be April Fool's Day.. so wasn't sure of the legitimacy of the info.. weeks went by (three to be exact) and the money was received by courier on the Mercury station day. Aries is my 5th house.. the house of good fortune.. I'm currently in a Saturn profection year, aged 62.. it's taken a while but Mercury retrogrades seem to be a bit easier as I age.. bearing in mind most of the time Mercury is transiting forward my communication/travel and technology is pretty f**ked up 😉😀

Just read about Google's defeat in the antitrust case. It's thought to change how we search the internet and influence communications on a large scale. This seems like it could be related to this mercury retrograde.
My mercury rx story December 2023 mercury rx - I was hired and at the same time, delayed my onboarding (bec of some stupid requirement lol). my start date was pushed to 2 weeks later. Apr 2024 - i was kinda kicked out from this same workplace. they thought U was not fit in the organization. knowing i was hired and kicked out in the consecutive mercury retrogrades - it was too funny and tragic for me. ohhh idk what all happened. they said i don’t talk too much and it led to many misunderstandings. me speaking as a gemini mercury. it was all too freaking literal. anyway we’re all good now. learning my lesson to always speak my mind if I have a chance. 😂

So I have Mercury in Aries in my 9th House (conjunct my Venus, Sun and Mars). At the end of July I received a very important letter indicating a possible move for me. I was hoping for this opportunity for a long time. Then suddenly it fell through. Now, 3 weeks later on my Leo Ascendant, I have heard that they didn't have all the info they needed and my hopes are positive again. It all seems to fit into the Mercury Retrograde event.
Natal Rx Mercury in 12 Gemini. While I haven't spent much time at all looking at astrology or transits in many years so can't really apply these periodic occurrences to my experience, I'm very aware of most of what you described. As in something Ive had to deal with my entire life and kind of program it into how communications go with others. Sometimes catch my self-pity as thinking 'why does this only seem to be happening to me?' 😄
In a Virgo 11h profection year, with natal mars combust the sun (3rd decan, 5’0 sep) in Virgo and RX Mercury in Libra 12h. Mercury will be in post shadow for that conjunction. RX mercury will hit natal north node in Leo. My 11h dealings this year have largely dealt with an unexpected new career direction and joining a labor union, which opened doors for me that could not have been opened as easily otherwise. I now find myself with about 1500 pages of study material for certification exams. Feeling good about it though…Mercury Rx are generally positive for me. Always ready for a shitshow though! I would like to share my experience here. I have Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius in my natal chart and a few years ago I realized that these periods are the best for me. When the rest of the world complains that everything is going backwards, everything flows better for me, in an exciting and even thrilling way. It's wonderful. Today, for example, I found out that I was offered a new job and I'm very happy. I'm really curious to know if other people with Mercury retrograde natally feel the same way, I haven't seen many people talking about it!
I’m a Virgo sun, Gemini rising and tend to feel the retrogrades coming on. I get more easily frustrated, miscommunication and lack of control. Also more internal conflict and indecisiveness during those times. But learning to try to flow with it.

I just now found out there was an unexpected delay in processing some important financial paperwork due to an error my bank made in 2022. As it turns out this error was in my favour as a separate error was made by me (recently) which would have been even more costly.
The net result is that going over past documents carefully has benefited me in the long run. So thank you Mercury retrograde!
I just looked up when Mercury entered its pre-retrograde shadow before this current retrograde and it was 24 hours before the Crowd Strike update that caused all the computer and flight issues around the world. I’ve always wondered about the shadow period and this is a great explanation. Thanks for the informative content, Chris!

Great video! I remember I travelled abroad for the first time in 5 years during a retrograde and I was so determined to be prepared for any delays and made sure I had travel insurance etc. So travelling to my destination was great and i had two flights there, but when I was returning, waiting to catch my last flight, i checked where my luggage is as I had put a airtag in and saw that my luggage was stuck in the previous airport. So I made calls etc and onces I got home it took two weeks for my luggage to get delivered back to me which was quick ... Just when I thought I had a smooth travel the mercury in retrograde had other plans 😂
I like your explanation and I've subscribed. I'm an amateur astrologer and I'm always happy to learn something new. One thing I want to add about Mercury retrograde is, it can be a good opportunity to revisit something, ponder or do research about a future decision. Whether cleaning an actual closet or a mental one, it's sometimes helpful to take a break from the action. I usually look at my chart and see where I might want to slow down.

Jah & Jahes love Chris. I have the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Mercury, and the Lot of Fortune in Gemini. I have been keeping track of the Mercury retrograde for decades and I always feel it. It can be frustrating and I think that I need to pay extra care to my health and commit additional time to travel. More recently, I've noticed that I should pay extra attention to commitments and plans that I sometimes have to rethink. I wish everyone the. best with this one. Blessed love.
I am a stellium Pisces with a Gemini moon. Mercury gone retro usually effects me enormously. I have needed to find a way to center myself when it occurs. For me I have found a combination of a couple of days of fasting and upping my meditation sessions renews me enough to more easily deal with this experience. So far I have had a car that is acting petulant, a bathroom sink that has required a plumber, a dog who is having health issues. All within the last 3 days...I think that these cycles of Mercury simply uncover hidden problems and force you to deal with them NOW. The benefit is clearing the way for a smoother experience when it's over.

The travel disruption was spot on！ Due to Tropical Storm Debby， flights to Florida Panhandle were canceled on 8/4 & 8/5. My husband had to stay ａ night in Dallas and took ａ detour flight yesterday to another airport that is two hours away. We had to spend 4 hours on the road to pick him up，instead of the normal 35 minutes. Perfect manifestation of Mercury Retrograde by cancellations， delay & detour in one trip😂

I'm in Virgo profection and during the past two mercury retrogrades I had car accidents. And it took almost the whole retrograde to fix my car with insurance processes and whatnot. Thanks to your election time video I noticed the time I had accident coincided once with rising Virgo and the other time with the rising of Gemini.

Yesterday our car would not start due to faulty starter, although it had been working fine all times prior to yesterday. Today one of our plane trip was delayed(Aug 5, 2024.) Mercury retrograde indeed. Just be patient and make necessary adjustments. Thank you Chris for great informative videos.

During the pre shadow period I was like I can handle this, it ain't so bad! Issues and frustrations hit me so hard today, I just want to teleport myself to another dimension. I am a natal mars virgo in my 10th house...I love structure and good communication at my work. I'm telling myself to take things one day at a time, but its difficult -__-
My best friend is natal Mars in Virgo .. conjunct and sandwiched between Uranus and Pluto in the 4th house (14.14.16degees respectively AND a is Sun Sagittarius with Gemini rising). She’s has the same phenomenal work ethic…. And is going bonkers at this time with time management between (??). Home, work and self care!). Fortunately it trines Jupiter in Taurus in her chart for stability…but she is still struggling despite her incredible stamina and work structure .. and Taurus squares her Moon and Saturn. I feel like she is drowning in responsibility…. … being a Sagittarius.. she’s an incredible swimmer. Oh! And I think fortunate for her she has Mercury in Capricorn … Still! I am amazed and sometimes worried at the stress and hard work she takes on and deals with in her work and home life … sacrificing so much of her independent spirit (Sagittarius Moon in Aquarius). I've been neglecting my health for some time and I told myself my health takes priority over my job. Home life has been hectic as well and I had to distance myself from family members that don't care to grow with me. I'm a cancer sun/mercury/venus, sag rising Jupiter rx and pisces moon/saturn rx, scorpio 12th house Pluto rx. I hope your friend gets better and I'm glad she has your support and friendship. The calm waters will come after the storm! I'm also trying to see the silver lining in all this. This reset is needed to gain insight about the things we've been unaware of or choosing to ignore.
I have natal mercury retrograde, in the 9th in Aquarius and it’s the ruler of my moon and ascendant in Gemini. Every single mercury Rx I feel like life speeds up and things are finally functioning at a normal pace. It’s the opposite of typical Rx experiences. I have heard a few astrologers say that people with natal mercury Rx placements typically do not experience transiting mercury Rx’s like people with out mercury Rx in their natal charts.
I wonder what this means for Harris’ VP pick being announced just as Mercury stationed Rx.

Mercury is Retrograde in my natal chart as well. I often feel as though life runs more smoothly for me when Mercury enters its Retrograde period three times a year. Usually it's the Retrogrades of other planets that are direct in my birth that cause problems for me.
I think this might be dependent in large part upon natal rulerships and aspects. I have had the definite feeling that both campaigns are well aware and astute of the significance of Astrology. They are quite focused on debates dates! Go Kamala!! Go Constitution and birth chart of the USA. Take a look at those charts! Also…. The Founding Fathers (authors). The Universe is actively at work defending their creation. Life Liberty and Freedom for All.

Last time Merc Retro'd in April, with Mercury still active as LOTY, I had to open a new bank account, and it took 3 solid attempts and visits in branch to achieve a seemingly simple task.
The first visit was during pre-retrograde shadow, and I had missed some documentation required.
The second visit was during Retrograde, and the bank themselves had an abundance of technical snafu (plural). The third and final attempt was post Retrograde shadow, and I was so prepared it was neurotic - I knew their systems were back up because I called in advance to check. I had all the documentation and then some. It went through without a hitch.
This is an extremely mercurial but mundane example including communications, organisation, documents, banks, and technologies. It was just inconvenient! Nothing to fear and a reminder to be more organised. Classic Mercury retrograde. I wasn't even mad. It was Astrology Good ™️
Because of Mercury Retrograde at Christmastime 2023, it was a "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" (good 1980s comedy w/ John Candy) one for me- so when I finally got to my destination we watched it. The Mercury retrograde was still in effect on my return home, so I left a lot of extra time, (that I did need when I found out there was no record of the ticket I had purchased) to sort things out at the airport and remain calm. Always leave extra time when traveling during Mercury Retrograde I've learned. I'm consciously sitting out this August cluster f**k of mutable planets hitting each other combined with this Mercury Retrograde- for me it seemed like my best option- spend some quality time reflecting and reevaluating before making any moves at the end of the month. I'm SO grateful to Chris for stepping up to be our leader on this astrology quest- I love that little Scorpio quip, "It makes me suspicious" We are in good hands with Chris.

I thought that was very interesting…retrograde in Virgo, and the “retro” return of four previous patients/residents that discharged three to four months ago.
I bought a set of headphones during Mercury R, that came with faults in sound and microphone. Never returned them, but tried to make them work. Bad purchase. I bought a laptop during Mercury R: it came with a large pink stripe on the screen. I signed a contract for an apartment during Mercury R, turned out I had missed an important line that made me regret renting it and I was stuck there for a year and a half. Whenever someone I’ve been out of contact with for years reaches out, it’s been during a Mercury R.

My experience with Mercury retrograde was our contractor starting/building a deck surround around an above-ground pool. It failed city inspection and had to be revisited twice because he built to provincial code rather than city code (I live in Canada). $$$$ So frustrating!!! I've learned, designing is okay. Planning is okay. Begin to build *afterwards*. Cheers!
Someone I know is travelling across the country right now, starting today, and when she went to go fill up her car ALL the local gas stations in the small town she was going through had no power - which means no gas. Thankfully someone sold her a couple gallons to get to the next station/town further out. She's a Virgo Rising AND in a 1st house Profection Year.

I had some interesting experiences with Mercury Return, both direct and retrograde. In April 18th 2022, I had my Mercury Return direct, that day exactly I was selected on a professional contest. In April 27th 2023, my Mercury Return was retrograde, in that day exactly my ex broke up with me unexpectedly and I got totally crushed. That was when I followed the white rabit into the world of Astrology and I'm loving studying it. Sometimes Mercury retrograde can be liberating.

Waiting to see what will come up although some miscommunication, forgetfulness and conflict already today. We had some BAD hail ( ICE CUBE AND GOLF BALL SIZED) in our city today (Calgary, AB, Canada) and we will have a claim on our house and car due to hail damage. Partner has Leo 2H and Virgo 3H with a Virgo moon at 13 degrees. A whole lot of review and revision coming up of our finances, property, car etc.

I am a virgo rising and my annual perfection is gemini, 10th house. This year Im all in changing work! I went for an interview and expected to get the result this Monday. Instead I will have to do a personality test and a second interview after that, totally retrograde stuff :)

when i first learned that mercury rx was real: april-may 2023. signed the lease and moved in to my first apartment during mercury rx.
first of all, the portal for signing and submitting documents wasn’t working or picking up on the fact that i signed, so i had to email copies of all 12 or so documents. the good news is that in the process, they gave me new docs to sign and accidentally wrote a pretty significantly lower number on there for our rent, so we got a lower rent than we were supposed to get for the entirety of the year, because they signed off on it without noticing until after the fact. so that was cool.
second of all, i was moving out of my parents’ house 15 minutes away. their house was full of black mold making me extremely ill, and so my doctor made me clean off every. single. item. with alcohol before bringing it into the new apartment. the only exceptions were things that could be put into the washer. i had to get rid of and replace everything else. so this took hundreds of hours to clean every single item.
then, when i was transporting my barbell along with one of the many car fulls of weights, a raccoon ran out in front of my car. (it was dark out.) i braked and the bar flew forward and smashed into my dashboard, causing my hazards to turn permanently on until i pulled the fuse under the hood, but this meant i now had no turn signals. i couldn’t get my car into the shop for weeks to get it fixed because they were all booked (probably from other peoples’ mercury rx problems, bc this isn’t normally the case when i need to bring it in). so i had to use arm signals out my window for weeks and couldn’t drive at night anymore as a result.
and then, every single appliance in our new apartment malfunctioned one at a time in succession for the next 6 months of living here. bless the fact that our maintenance team is god tier.
Perfect example, I got a flat tire yesterday on my drive home causing me to be late to work.

A few years ago I boarded a flight that sat at the gate for hours. The pilot explained that somehow due to a technical glitch the manifest had been completely lost. We all had to deboard and reboard again, and after 4 hours we finally departed. Not long into the delay it dawned on me that Mercury had just stationed retrograde, so I was quietly laughing about that while everyone else was losing their mind. But I ended up getting a voucher for a free flight and was able to book a second vacation which was great! And just yesterday when Mercury stationed retrograde, I went to see a movie and kept thinking on the way there, somehow something will go wrong. When we got to the theater, they told us they had to cancel the movie because of a bunch of technical issues. They apologized and gave us a free ticket to come back later. I'm discovering Mercury retrogrades are full of freebees!

Post times (2 weeks following) I have/see more experiences of effects of Mercury retrogrades. This time the last two weeks have been busy experiences. Vehicle issues, connectivity issues with wifi/cell service/communicates, thinking overload and tired from it, can’t get enough online activity for mainly learning and some entertainment (I didn’t even consider the pre-weeks of Mercury retrograde😮), energies moving faster with me beginning sooner doing things each day, and of course the world had the big SNAFU of Microsoft software, then the next week some kind of technology SNAFU. Neither of those SNAFUS directly affected me.

These are true of transits but also VERY VERY significant if it is Rx in your birth chart when it stations progressions, etc. Such a huge shift in my life when Mercury stationed Direct.
Thanks Chris! Loving the quick informative videos you’re experimenting with. Though you’re my favorite podcast host because I do generally love the in depth nature of the long format. Anyways I don’t fear mercury retrogrades at all. I’m aware of miscommunications and delays as a theme but I would also say that’s a theme if you’re trying to force things in the external world. I find mercury retrograde to be a wonderful time for more yin practices. You can have a lot of success with meditation, journaling, and even more psychic types of communication in my experience. That’s how I experience retrogrades for any planet honestly.

I didn't know tracking them can help understand them, or that a profection year is important. I appreciate hearing that. I remember one year I had issues with my internet and had to engage with the corporation. It was a total nightmare that was ongoing the entire retrograde, and then cleared up after the Rx ended. That's the only one I can think of that I was aware of both the issues and Rx at the same time. Years later, I still do not recommend Comcrap. Their customer service is always in a Mercury Rx. 😂

I have Mercury retrograde in my natal chart, in my 11th WSH Libra, conjunct my MC, Venus is in the the 11th house as well. The last Mercury retrograde in April in Aries, I received word of a gift of money being given to me by my mother.. the email arrived on the first day of the retrograde, which also happened to be April Fool's Day.. so wasn't sure of the legitimacy of the info.. weeks went by (three to be exact) and the money was received by courier on the Mercury station day. Aries is my 5th house.. the house of good fortune.. I'm currently in a Saturn profection year, aged 62.. it's taken a while but Mercury retrogrades seem to be a bit easier as I age.. bearing in mind most of the time Mercury is transiting forward my communication/travel and technology is pretty f**ked up 😉😀

Just read about Google's defeat in the antitrust case. It's thought to change how we search the internet and influence communications on a large scale. This seems like it could be related to this mercury retrograde.
My mercury rx story
December 2023 mercury rx - I was hired and at the same time, delayed my onboarding (bec of some stupid requirement lol). my start date was pushed to 2 weeks later.
Apr 2024 - i was kinda kicked out from this same workplace. they thought U was not fit in the organization. knowing i was hired and kicked out in the consecutive mercury retrogrades - it was too funny and tragic for me. ohhh idk what all happened. they said i don’t talk too much and it led to many misunderstandings.
me speaking as a gemini mercury. it was all too freaking literal. anyway we’re all good now. learning my lesson to always speak my mind if I have a chance. 😂

So I have Mercury in Aries in my 9th House (conjunct my Venus, Sun and Mars). At the end of July I received a very important letter indicating a possible move for me. I was hoping for this opportunity for a long time. Then suddenly it fell through. Now, 3 weeks later on my Leo Ascendant, I have heard that they didn't have all the info they needed and my hopes are positive again. It all seems to fit into the Mercury Retrograde event.
Natal Rx Mercury in 12 Gemini. While I haven't spent much time at all looking at astrology or transits in many years so can't really apply these periodic occurrences to my experience, I'm very aware of most of what you described. As in something Ive had to deal with my entire life and kind of program it into how communications go with others. Sometimes catch my self-pity as thinking 'why does this only seem to be happening to me?' 😄

In a Virgo 11h profection year, with natal mars combust the sun (3rd decan, 5’0 sep) in Virgo and RX Mercury in Libra 12h. Mercury will be in post shadow for that conjunction. RX mercury will hit natal north node in Leo.
My 11h dealings this year have largely dealt with an unexpected new career direction and joining a labor union, which opened doors for me that could not have been opened as easily otherwise. I now find myself with about 1500 pages of study material for certification exams. Feeling good about it though…Mercury Rx are generally positive for me. Always ready for a shitshow though!
