So this is a song written for Anette who didn't sing the middle operatic section even in the studio and relied on a recording. Every song at this concert written for the two previous singers.
This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people. The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival. At this point Floor had been with Nightwish for 10 months. Most fans had not seen her yet with Nihgtwish. And Wacken was the biggest concert for Nightwish, they were the headliner, the last performer right after Alice Cooper. Nightwish ended the concert around midnight. This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. As for Floor's vocals : Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit". Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
I heard "Storytime" for the very first time at the Nightwish concert in Wembley last year. So glad I didn't do all of my homework before the concert - my first Nightwish concert. As "Storytime" now is something very special for me. The same - even more - with "The Greatest Show on Earth".
Im a piano teacher. I love all kinds of good music but Nightwish has brought a joy and hope in music today for me...after 20 years of "meh". Watching reactors is my hobby...lol (Nightwish was my first reaction video i watched) I get to relive the joy and also learn about other musicians.
You saw it... the next song is calliing, suggesting which one is next... "Song of Myself" - same concert. See you soon. British Nightwish Light Infantry Regiment signing off for now.
As hard as it is to pick a "favorite" NW song, this one, and in particular this performance, is as close as I can come to calling one my favorite...I can't sit still through it, no matter how many thousands of times I listen to it.
@@ahuggie She was already signed as permanent member of the band before this gig. The official public announcement was later in the same year for marketing purposes.
Hello again, Cosmic. Super cool indeed. Floor is the Valkyrie that carries Nightwish to Valhalla. And yes, Tuomas is Odin. Nightwish is the rare band that is even better live than their studio productions. Fantastic reaction and keep the Nightwish live with Floor coming.
This is the song that made me fall in love with Floor and Nightwish, and decide I had to go see them live! So amazing. One of the greatest chorus I have ever heard written and sung. Have to see Lovebites next. My two favorite bands. For Nightwish, I'd maybe suggest Everdream next, from this show. That or Song of Myself.
The flaming bull skull is the symbol/logo of the Wacken Open Air festival, and sits between the two main stages. Now let’s get a little dark, mysterious, personal, and crunchy, with Song of Myself, same Wacken show. Enjoy!
3 years ago, i was music blind. did like some songs from different people, but just " like" , you know. Nothing really more than enjoying some minutes. And suddenly , for a reason i don t remind, i was exploring youtube and saw that "ghost love score" thing. in my mind, metal was that demon like voice and rebuked me from exploring more. the first time i heard that song from nightwish, it changed my life and the way i perceived things around me. It really changed something very deep inside me. and then i begun the journey, i wanted more. and everytime i found a new song from them , i was in awe. No bad beat as usual in groups when you like 1 or 2 songs and the rest is "correct" level. song of myself is as different as GLS as storytime is different to the last ride of the day as....every experience of nightwish. During that first part, i was thinking "waow Floor nailed it", the 2 other singers probably aren t good. I found some "arrogance" in Tarja ( don t ask me why?^^)then i kisten to that first era and found it great. Damnit each time i find a secret i love it , i can t get bored. found Epica and floor in sancta terra. begun to like Epica too. this is endless. So much joy. i even begin to like some songs from "heavier" groups or "growling machines" like Jinjer. And i went to my first live concert at Nimes in france last year. Another journey to paradise. Today, nightwish gives me energy, positive vibes when i would lack it. you wanted to hear our story, here's mine. Now track "song od myself" from waken 2013! and let's walk the path together.
Agree. 14 months ago I had not heard of Nightwish or Floor. A good friend pestered me in to listening to "The Poet and the Pendulum" live from Wembley 2015. I wasnt really interested as I had preconceived ideas about Metal but said friend persisted and I gave in and was blown away and have been ever since with my musical world having being turned upside down and inside out in the best possible way. Having been an Electric Light Orchestra "fan" for 40+ years helped me immediately warm to symphonic metal. What a journey Nightwish is. Phenomenal band. 🙏😊👍❤️
Loving your reactios to nightwish. The expression on your face is like a little kid on Christmas morning. Welcome to the nightwish army and enjoy your journey down the very, very deep rabbit hole that is nightwish.
FLOORGASM ALERT !!!!! dam you might have the record for the mouth hanging open the longest . Thanks bro loved watching you get hooked on one of the best live bands to ever take stage . I can hardly wait for you next Nightwish experience .
Ahh Storytime, love it! This is a wild, feel good ride for sure. Yes the whole Wacken 2013 concert is great and the sound they got live? Well, kudos to the sound engineers and techs, they are also top notch. Great that you appreciate the lyrics, Tuomas will take you on as much of a lyrical journey as a musical one, he's just THAT good! There have been no NW songs I've disliked, and that says a lot. Obviously i have my favorites, but theres not been a dud yet. I don't talk about myself a lot, but I enjoy learning new things, figuring out how things work, science (and SciFi), and all other nerdy things. I recently started back into guitar after putting it down 20 years ago, and started into learning new languages. Both are slow going but it keeps my brain sharp! Txs for the reactions, you've got my sub! Keep it up cosmic!
Well hello again, Cosmic. As promised, I'm going to tell you about the last 2 members, but first, picture this... You feeling about Nightwish the way you do, these fans had never heard Floor with their favorite band, so imagine this is their very first experience hearing that voice. Talk about hitting the lottery!!! So.... drummer Jukka Nevelainen was with the band, in their studio in Finland, 2014, listening to the demo of what became Floor's first album with the band. Jukka had been fighting insomnia for many years now and it had finally caught up with him through health issues. He announced to the band that he couldn't continue spreading himself out so thin and it was time for him to get off the drum set. Jukka called on his good friend and WinterSun drummer, Kai Hahto to replace him and record the drum tracks for the album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". Kai also toured with the band in support of the album and became a permanent member in 2019, the same year they began recording their 9th album, "Human :II: Nature". Human :II: Nature was released in April 2020. The elusive 6th member of Nightwish that you STILL haven't seen 😂, is an Englishman and a multi instrumentalist. He specializes in traditional Irish instruments like the bouzouki, low whistle, tin whistle, and the Nightwish Army favorite, Uilleann pipes or Irish bagpipes. His name is Troy Donockley and he is just as magical as the other 5. Troy played as a guest musician for Nightwish for quite a few years back in 2009 both in the studio and onstage. He and Floor both became permanent members in June 2013, 2 months before Wacken which happened to be Floor's biggest concert ever at that time. I did mention Marko leaving the band not long after the release of their 9th album in 2020. You can Google "Marko Hietala Resignation Letter" and read for yourself why he left, and the band's response afterwards. His replacement, unfortunately, has done no singing to date, but he is a great bassist nonetheless and he was brought in from Kai's band, WinterSun. His name is Jukka Koskinen. So this is the band you've been seeing and hearing.... Tuomas Holopainen Emppu Vuorinen Floor Jansen Jukka Nevelainen Troy Donockley And Marko Hietala This is the band now... Tuomas Holopainen Emppu Vuorinen Floor Jansen Kai Hahto Troy Donockley Jukka Koskinen Another great reaction. I love this song because it takes you away from reality for. While. This is the kind of song you wanna take in, go crazy, and jump around to no matter how old you are. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤️🤘🤘
The Bull head is the symbol of the festival this was recorded at Wacken Open Air which is a major European metal festival. A number of live videos from various bands have been recorded at and do make the reaction rounds.
the bull head is a symbol of the Wacken festival, the area has been a farmer's market where cows and other livestock were sold. This is a great song, love Floors use of textures. In 2013 Floor sang just Nightwish songs that were composed for other vocalists, so hard to compare those with studio versions. Also nice to listen to: Face Your Demons, by Floor at her Amsterdam Live Concert in 2021, she has it on her FloorJansenOfficial youtube channel, ua-cam.com/video/4sg1SVQ_QvQ/v-deo.html
So glad you are into lyrics...bc Nightwish gives you poetry, stories, lessons! You can find the setlist for their Wacken 2013 show, on the dvd Showtime/Storytime...all 15 songs are a collective masterpiece of live recording and performance! I'm retired in the California desert, I train cats (yes...cats) to be Emotional Support Animals and do consults on cat behavior. I have 3 furry little headbangers of my own, and every kitten litter I foster is raised on Nightwish music! I'm not an actual content creator...but I mentor small channels to grow thru song/artist selection, and in addition to being an old Nightwish Army promoter, I also support Sabaton, Tommy Johansson and many others! Just an old rocker chick who dedicates my life to the Nightwish philosophy of humanity, empathy, and kindness...through education. I help people (not just cats!) In whatever way I can, and all I ask in return is that they find a way to "pay it forward"! Trying to make my world just a little bit better, leading by example. And by sharing great music with wonderful people all over the globe!
Amy! it was meant for us to meet! I have always felt a soul connection to cats. Its been there since I was a little dude. I've always had one and I've recently am in a season where I can't have one in the apartment I live. It has been so bad. I have a Muta Tattoo from the Studio Ghibli Film "The Cat Returns," and "Whispers of the heart" on my wrist. I' appreciate all the guidance and help! I got some Sabaton coming. That will be new to me.
Mr. Cosmic Wolff. . . . . . . . . . . . It might help you to know Tuomas uses several pseudonyms to refer to himself in various Nightwish songs which he writes from experiences, observation or imagination, he says he is a man with a boy's heart and you will see that directly in places even with boy narrators he uses often in place of himself. Digging into his lyrics is almost a second bite of the cherry. He will also use poet, dreamer, writer/song writer or ocean soul - Tuomas has an affinity for the ocean, he was studying to be a marine biologist. (Remember this well as you journey on, it will be helpful and often the key.) So here, "A writer by a fire. . . . . ." Tuomas is speaking to you directly, he is the story-teller, the “writer by the fire” - "Took a journey into a child-man’s heart" would be Tuomas remembering the childhood stories and fascination, but the boy has grown up from being a Peter-Pan, the crib is empty. Floor sings the "innocence" and "Peter Pan" in a high, operatic head voice, the sort of pitch you would expect from a very excited small boy. . . . . . Is it making sense now ? 🙂 Good stuff, you keep at it, Nightwish will not disappoint. (Edit, for your question) What do I do? Simple, I'm a cantankerous, contentious and recalcitrant 77yo retired old fart Brit curmudgeon who lives in two and half acres of neighbour-less isolation in central SW France and struggles with the language. Not many hopes and dreams, waking up alive in the mornings is a bonus and then I see where life takes me and what needs to be done that day, but besotted with Nightwish and a daily fix is essential with a trawl around UA-cam and interesting NW reactions. 🙂
I would love to set with you and just talk and share stories! I can tell that you are a beautiful soul! Thank you so much for being kind and sharing these stories of the band. It makes this experience that much more magical!
such a catchy song and another one that helps to showcase what musically and rhythmically i just feel that this bands music that Tuomas composes has been a beautiful tapestry of layers of sounds and yes i am so glad that she accepted that call in 2012 summer or whenever is was that Tuomas made that phone call to someone who he would later discover would end up saving nightwish in the same way that she saved them and holy smokes
Epicness right there on that stage with all band members masters of their craft fronted by the best vocalist that I have ever had the privilege to hear. Planting and nurturing one tree a month is not so much a dream but something that I have been striving to achieve for a number of years. Imagine if each and every one of us planted and nurtured one tree (I'm sure that many have) ... a UA-cam forest 🙏😊👍❤️
It's not just this show. Nightwish is a Live experience.. But not to worry, there has to be about a hundred different Nightwish songs out there on UA-cam recorded from a official live performance from somewhere in the world. Wembley, Tampere, Buenos Aries, etc...
The flaming bull head is the Wacken Open Air logo. Your commentary is right on Cosmic. This is a legendary show and this is why we usually suggest this show from beginning to end. However, there are 2 or 3 other shows that are quite amazing as well. Along with some segments from a few other shows. Big fun taking this ride with you. I get to relive my first experiences with these amazing performances. Hope to see you again very soon my friend. My dream came to life 5 years ago when I first discovered this amazing band. I lost my drive and love of music several years before and Nightwish has reignited my passion for music. Music is what matters most to me. It speaks to me and many others on a vibrational & existential level. The unspoken language of the gods. Add some deep level poetic imagery and it adds another layer. I am livin the dream right now! Welcome to my world. "Without music life would be a mistake".
I've enjoyed getting to know you thru these videos! I love all the passion that pours out of everyone when they tell me how much this band means to them. I'm experiencing something truly special
Okay...the Bull's head symbolizes the area of the town....since cattle is a big deal there. As for the song...the drummer, Jukka, just killed it on the drums the whole time! One of my Top 3 favorite NIghtwish songs!
On this concert Floor only performed old songs not written to her incredible powerful techniques - but she certainly added them!! From 2015 and up, everything was created to take advantage of Floor telling the stories. The themes in the stories also changed into stoties about the Evolution!! A new 'Big Bang' emerged in the musically universe.....
Great reaction!! Nightwish is a very deep rabbit hole, where every song is different with unexpected twists and turns. Virtuoso musicians, a genius songwriter (Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player whom many call the "metal Mozart" is a master of emotion and melody), and the best lead singer alive today (Floor Jansen can sing anything, from operatic highs to full metal growls) - and bassist Marco Hietala is a metal legend and also has an incredible voice (and when he sings harmony with Floor - it is pure gold). Their studio tracks are great, but their live performances are phenomenal, Nightwish is one of the best live bands of all time. I've never heard a bad song from them (at least not live with Floor). To get a sample of their diversity I highly recommend any of these live performances (all high quality production), which are some of my personal favorites: (From Wacken 2013): Ghost River, Amaranth, Song Of Myself, Last Ride Of The Day, Ever Dream; (From Wembley 2015): 7 Days To The Wolves, Yours Is An Empty Hope, Nemo, Elan, My Walden, While Your Lips Are Still Red, Shudder Before The Beautiful, The Poet And The Pendulum; (From Tampere 2015): Sleeping Sun, The Islander; (From Buenos Aires 2018): I Want My Tears Back, Dead Boys Poem, Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean; (From Tampa): Sahara; (From Hellfest 2022): Tribal, How's The Heart.
Me? I'm just a little old lady who stumbled upon Nightwish less than a year ago. Most of my friends just want to look back, and I can get all the way back to the Beatles Invasion, but I've always been a curious creature and I decided I wanted to see what was out there now. Nightwish has lead me to many other great bands, but they will always be first in my heart. It's the joy. Even in the saddest, the heaviest, songs, there is always a thread of hope. I think we all need to hold on tight to that thread. As for your next song, how about some Ghost River, from this same concert - Wacken 2013?
Just for you WNY! I appreciate hearing everyones thoughts! I think that is the greatest joy of like minded people coming together! We all love music. I have some reactions coming that arn't metal at all, I'm curious to see how they will resonate with you all.
@@WNYretiree Yes! I'm in Rochester. The flower city has a million colors this time of year. So nice to meet another member of the NY division. Much love my friend 🤗
I’m loving your reactions to Nightwish! I just started listening to them about 6 months ago, and right away they became my new favorite band. I recommend Everdream next, and I Want My Tears Back!
I like to see the growing excitement on your face, in your eyes. this almost childlike looking forward, and during the music, reminds me of my child on christmas eve. how about hearing a song written for and with Floor? "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", live Tampere 2015 ... This great song is sooo hardly underrequested, i don´t know why, since every reactor who did it loved it as all the other songs ... by time i hope you will come to this song... sorry for not beeing a "Patreon", if i could i would
Hellion first and foremost I'm just grateful you are here. I don't expect anything from anyone. I'm grateful that you would even watch my video. Thank you so much!
Who knew that one day a metal band could make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. This is one of the songs that def does that! And it is just one of the many songs Tuomas has written about the imagination of a young boy (himself). But yeah, this is a happy feel good one. :)
Have a look at "Devil and the deep dark ocean" live with Floor singing, lyrically its very random but such a good song musically and Floor's vocal athletics are next level!
Enjoying this journey with you, even though it is not my first "trip around the Nightwish world", seeing you react the way most of us reacted the first time we heard these songs, i so much fun. And this takes us one step closer to your reaction to "Greatest show on earth", imho their magnum opus, but... we got a few more songs to go before you are "allowed" to hit that one hehehe. This band just keeps on giving, and giving... and giving, and you can only deliver this high a standard each and every time, if you truly love the music you create together, and they clearly do. On to the next one :D
@@Duskwind_ Yeah, I've made it up to 3.5, but my daughter and her friends use 5th Edition....I just don't like anything after 3.5. But, everytime I hear "Dark Chest of Wonders", I want to get together and play a game. I've even put together a small rabbit hunt involving an item by the same name. I bet Tuomas either plays now, or has played in the past!
Thank you for your reaction! Storytime... It's a kind of contradiction: that Wacken 2013 video is everything but a story. I've listened tho that entire concert way over 200 times and it never get's boring. Magic!
We are incredibly fortunate to have so many amazing live shows from Nightwish made into DVDs and available for audio streaming. I don't really listen to the albums besides the first 3, I only listen to the live shows. Decades, Wacken 2013, End of an Era, Wembley, Tampere. All beautiful.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I saw in another video that you love The Islander, maybe you should check out a special rendition of it from the Tampere show :)
😁💙🇫🇮🪄🎼✨💯🤘 Edit. How about Ever Dream, on same Wacken-13 Party 🎉 This band don't have a 'bad song' you will see & hear something...so good ewry single time. Enjoy this magical 🎢 to the ✨ 🤘😊👍💙🇫🇮
I'm a big Nightwish fan and you would love their song Greatest show on Earth.. I just started following you here on UA-cam and I really love your reactions and your message. Much love Jeff
This show demonstrates something you will find out - almost everything Nightwish outdoes the albums. It's not just this concert. Just wait till you get to Buenos Aires 2018, but also the other big ones: Tampere and Wembley in 2015 and back in the day Hartwall Areena in 2005. There are many more: I keep the shows on my media server - 31 at the moment. I think the important line in this lyric, almost thrown away but the essence of Tuomas' approach, is "the core of all life is a limitless chest of tales". The result is a limitless fount of imagination for songwriting. So many songs I'm waiting for but you'll get to them all In hope, and I suspect a very large majority will elicit reactions like "my new favourite", "I wasn't expecting that" or "That was different again".
If you're obcessed with the moon.. You would probably love "Shoemaker" also by Nightwish.. they did it in tribute to Eugene Shoemaker.. the planetary scientist who devoted most part of his life to studying the moon and the only man whose ashes now rest in the moon.. the live version is also incridible as always but for this one, I would recomend watch/reacting to the official videoclip... you wont regret it! greetins from brazil!
Oh Floor has her hooks in you now. Song of the Siren has struck again. You will notice Floor mature in the later concerts. She is constantly evolving and showing her slight human side from time to time as well.
Thanx for this one. When you are looking for the whole Wacken show, you're face hurts after that for smiling two hours. Next would be Ghost river from the same show...
An important aspect to remember about Floor and Wacken 2013 is that not a single song in that set was written for her. In fact, she was not even quite a permanent member of the band at that point. And, yet, she makes every song hers as if she had been singing them for a decade already.
Flamin' bull's head (no, I'm not Alf from Home and Away (Aussie TV reference)) is a symbol of Wacken - it used to be a cow paddock! 82,000 people clapping and singing in unison - awesome! Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins (chimney reference).... NEVER grow up - like Tuomas!
You mentioned loving fantasy - check out Elvenjig/Elvenpath from Decades Live in Buenos Aires. A very different side of Nightwish. It will also introduce you to Troy Donockley, the sixth member of the band. He's a multi-instrumentalist and the instruments are often unusual, like the uilleann pipes and the bouzouki. Also @SolitudeMan1977X mentioned Tuomas' love of Disney, Scrooge McDuck, and Don Rosa. A lot of the songs on the album, The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, are available on UA-cam as audio. There is an official video called A Lifetime of Adventure that is wonderful. Tuomas' wife Johanna is the lead singer. Make sure the lyrics are on because some of the words, especially in the beginning, are drawn out. It's beautiful, whimsical, very different - and very Tuomas.
Really enjoyed this reaction 😃 Here's my top 20 Nightwish songs and with both Floor, Tarja and Marko 😊 Waiting for reactions for some of the songs some time in the future 😁🙏 1. This song is from their Imaginaerium album, a concept album base on an old composer on his death bed relieving the memories of his life. One of Tuomas's favorite topics or themes in his music is lost innocence. As a poet and artist Tuomas values the sense of wonder and imagination that innocent children have. In Storytime the composer is remembering the joy he got from childhood tales, thus the references to Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland (Tuomas often uses literary references in his lyrics and as inspiration for songs). It is through these childhood stories that we discover ourselves and who we are (I am the story that will read you real). Song is inspired by a popular British Christmas movie The Snowman. Storytime" was born when Tuomas wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like. Tuomas ""How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity." Walking on the Air is a very popular Christmas song in the UK and Finland and Nightwish did a beautiful cover of it with their first singer Tarja that is worth reacting to.
Music like this is what gets you motivated music brings everyone together I mean just look at how much fun their having you rarely see that in American music.
Thanks for the reaction =) I´m a sucker for lyrics too... Nightwish have some of the most beautiful lyrics. Try: Everdream, How´s the heart, Elan, My Walden and so on =)
Did you notice our famous "Time Traveler"??? The guy with the strange hat, the only one who isn't clapping his hands (at 4:50 and 4:58 / in the front, very left)... 😁😂🤣
You're absolutely right. I've known all these songs for years before seeing this concert, but these are the definitive versions for me now, I can't go back to the originals because they're... yeah, they're actually less great. (And they ARE great.) Imagine that. Just to be clear, Floor is a gift from the gods and trumps pretty much anyone, so naturally she trumps Anette by a mile, which is why her pop voice over the music sounds wrong now, but even without this factor, Nightwish captured lightning in a bottle with this concert, where everything came together to form a whole that's bigger than its parts and turned this into a legendary gig. Every note from everybody involved is spot-on the whole setlist through. (If you look up a couple of other gigs, you'll find that even Floor can sound less than perfect, although it's rare.) My recommendations: The glorious Ghost River from the same concert and The Poet And The Pendulum from Wembley, 2016.
It's awesome! I agree, the production and performances are just stellar. I only listen to this show for these songs - the parts the crowd plays are a part of the song now for me and it does not feel right unless I hear them chanting or cheering at the right times.
My motto is: don't dream your life - live your dreams! I always wanted to make street music - I do I always wanted to travel the world with a van - I do I alwayswanted to see as many Nightwish concerts live as possible - I've seen 4 concerts in the last 8 months alone I always wanted to see Floor's solo concerts - I saw 3 concerts I always wanted to be healthy - ok. I have a summer flu ... at this point I just have to get better! 😉
Yoooo I'm so glad to hear this, except for the sick part! I feel like once we get older and realize how short life is...we have to go for it! Thank you so much for sharing
As for Floor's vocals :
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6).
You can feel in this one how everyone gets in the song as Floor gets to the chorus. She is amazing.
she really is
Emppu's smile says it all. So Good!! Floor killin it.
When life suck we have Nightwish. And we also have the luxory to watch reactors discover this amazing band.
i concur
I concur
I totally concur
Just another fantastic Nightwish song with Floor at Wacken!
All vocalists sing what they can... Floor sings whatever she wants. \m/
I heard "Storytime" for the very first time at the Nightwish concert in Wembley last year. So glad I didn't do all of my homework before the concert - my first Nightwish concert. As "Storytime" now is something very special for me. The same - even more - with "The Greatest Show on Earth".
My Queen Goddess casually mass healing her audience! Floorever!
The world may suck at times but just listening to any Nightwish song puts me in a better place immediately.
100 percent!
That's exactly how I feel. Music can shift our moods, amplify them etc. This one definitely put a smile on my face
There is only one and she is.... FLOOR!!!
Im a piano teacher. I love all kinds of good music but Nightwish has brought a joy and hope in music today for me...after 20 years of "meh". Watching reactors is my hobby...lol (Nightwish was my first reaction video i watched) I get to relive the joy and also learn about other musicians.
I love that! Piano is top 3 fav instrument!
You saw it... the next song is calliing, suggesting which one is next... "Song of Myself" - same concert. See you soon. British Nightwish Light Infantry Regiment signing off for now.
I may have a secret....its already recorded and going to be uploaded soon!
nightwish with floor singing is perfect. so many tears in nightwish songs. But also triumph. its a whole journey
Yea, Floor kills it!
So glad you did this one next. For many, this is the song that put them over the top in their NW fandom.
I am convinced that this is the song, this performance, when the boys knew she was the one.
The bull's head is the symbol/logo for the Wacken Open Air Festival. For the rest of the year, the area is cattle country.
Ahhhhhhh it´s time for a story. Hell yeah
Lets gooooo
Hello again, Cosmic. Super cool indeed. Floor is the Valkyrie that carries Nightwish to Valhalla. And yes, Tuomas is Odin. Nightwish is the rare band that is even better live than their studio productions. Fantastic reaction and keep the Nightwish live with Floor coming.
I'm really really enjoying them. I've been re listening to them on my drives to work lol
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody There is a cover of High Hopes from Pink Floyd. The Nightwish version is amazing! ua-cam.com/video/jXTmh8fC_RQ/v-deo.html
That or Song of Myself.
dude Lovebites is sooo good
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Right? It's unbelievable.
you are right it is in fact in my 60 years the best chorus iv ever heard in my life
'Yours is an empty hope' next my friend live at Wembley. If you like heavy this is the one!
This is nearly my journey to nightwish too ❤
Loving your reactios to nightwish. The expression on your face is like a little kid on Christmas morning. Welcome to the nightwish army and enjoy your journey down the very, very deep rabbit hole that is nightwish.
Much love! Thanks for the love and support!
There is a pre-recorded choir in the mix, but sure, the audience is singing along as well.
This is incredible! What a song 🤘🏻
Bro, you new to Nightwish! They are soooo good!
FLOORGASM ALERT !!!!! dam you might have the record for the mouth hanging open the longest . Thanks bro loved watching you get hooked on one of the best live bands to ever take stage . I can hardly wait for you next Nightwish experience .
hahahha I go back and watch the videos and I cringe so bad with how my mouth hangs open! lol
Tuomas Holopainen
Emppu Vuorinen
Floor Jansen
Jukka Nevelainen
Troy Donockley
And Marko Hietala
This is the band now...
Tuomas Holopainen
Emppu Vuorinen
Floor Jansen
Kai Hahto
Troy Donockley
Jukka Koskinen
Another great reaction.
I love this song because it takes you away from reality for. While.
This is the kind of song you wanna take in, go crazy, and jump around to no matter how old you are.
Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed.
😊❤️🤘🤘
I appreciate your guiding hand on this journey friend!
I'm quite sure you'd like "Dead Boy's Poem". It is my favorite Nightwish song and it is so absolutely magnificent piece of art...
I got it coming
I love your reactions to Nightwish. It brings me back to all the feelings I had when I first discoverd them! Welcome home! Love from The Netherlands
This has been such an amazing experience! Thanks for coming along on the journey with me!
Nightwish is one of the best Live band for sure!
(Remember this well as you journey on, it will be helpful and often the key.)
So here, "A writer by a fire. . . . . ." Tuomas is speaking to you directly, he is the story-teller, the “writer by the fire” - "Took a journey into a child-man’s heart" would be Tuomas remembering the childhood stories and fascination, but the boy has grown up from being a Peter-Pan, the crib is empty.
Floor sings the "innocence" and "Peter Pan" in a high, operatic head voice, the sort of pitch you would expect from a very excited small boy. . . . . .
Is it making sense now ? 🙂
Good stuff, you keep at it, Nightwish will not disappoint.
Imagine if each and every one of us planted and nurtured one tree (I'm sure that many have) ... a UA-cam forest 🙏😊👍❤️
thanks for the reaction cosmo wolf, from Colorado. top 3 rock band ever, ever.
The bull head is the symbol of Wacken, the festival.
It's not just this show. Nightwish is a Live experience.. But not to worry, there has to be about a hundred different Nightwish songs out there on UA-cam recorded from a official live performance from somewhere in the world. Wembley, Tampere, Buenos Aries, etc...
The bull head is the symbol for Wacken Open Air, the festival this was recorded at. The festival is held in what was a cattle pasture.
Thank you so much for the recommendations! I'm already adding a ton to my list.
If you love the Moon....
Try 7 days 2 the wolves!
( my favourite Nightwish song... untill I listen to the next one.)
You got it!

Who knew that one day a metal band could make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. This is one of the songs that def does that! And it is just one of the many songs Tuomas has written about the imagination of a young boy (himself). But yeah, this is a happy feel good one. :)
This band is quickly rising to the top for me personally
Each one of these people are so talented, it’s so amazing.
The bull head is the Wacken logo. It is mounted between the stages.

Much love!
I'm loving every minute of it J0hnn!

I bet Tuomas either plays now, or has played in the past!
Thank you for your reaction! Storytime... It's a kind of contradiction: that Wacken 2013 video is everything but a story. I've listened tho that entire concert way over 200 times and it never get's boring. Magic!
that flaming bullhead is the mascot of the "WOA - Wacken Open Air" festival in germany. one of the biggest metal events on the planet.

TRUE!
the whole wacken show and the whole Buenos Aires are bonkers good

JEFF!!! Welcome in to the Council! Much love and thanks so much for the love and support!
Lol I sometimes feel so cringe with how expressive I'am but I cant help it.
Again and again and again ... "floorgasms" 😍
All over the place hahha
If you're obcessed with the moon.. You would probably love "Shoemaker" also by Nightwish.. they did it in tribute to Eugene Shoemaker.. the planetary scientist who devoted most part of his life to studying the moon and the only man whose ashes now rest in the moon.. the live version is also incridible as always but for this one, I would recomend watch/reacting to the official videoclip... you wont regret it! greetins from brazil!
Beautiful, thank you
Thanks for listening
Oh Floor has her hooks in you now. Song of the Siren has struck again. You will notice Floor mature in the later concerts. She is constantly evolving and showing her slight human side from time to time as well.
Hook Line and Sinker
The word that always comes to mind for me when I watch this performance is Joy. You see it on every face on stage and in the crowd.
I actually just watched some videos on their history! Thats so wild!
Yes, it's a bull's head, the emblem of Wacken Open Air festival. This is held on a cow field in Germany, hence the bull head.
ohhhh awesome! Thanks
Subscribed sir. Thank you sir, for your reaction and sweet encouriging words.
Thank you sooooo much! I really appreciate the love! Keep being amazing!
You got it! It sounds epic!
Thanks
I believe the bull head is because the village near the festival site is named Holstein, like the cattle breed.
It is also the "logo" for The Wacken Open Air Festival

All songs at Waken 2013 were written for the previous singers. Floor made them hers. Try one written for Floor. Shoemaker live at Diechbrand 2022
Floor: Hey Tuomas! You know the part in 'Storytime' where you use the syth? I can sing that!
Tuomas: No way!
Floor: Gimme room here...
Music like this is what gets you motivated music brings everyone together I mean just look at how much fun their having you rarely see that in American music.
Dude so true!
Thanks for another great reaction full of enthusiasm for our favorite band. Storytime must bet the next new entry in the top 2000.
this song was sooooo good
Thanks for the reaction =) I´m a sucker for lyrics too...
Geuss what Floor has done so much. Bands like After Forever, Revamp and projects like Northward.
I always have to remind myself that so few people outside of metal don't know that the bull head is the symbol of metal.
(If you look up a couple of other gigs, you'll find that even Floor can sound less than perfect, although it's rare.)
My recommendations: The glorious Ghost River from the same concert and The Poet And The Pendulum from Wembley, 2016.
I got those songs coming. I'm excited for yall to hang with me
Nightwish Army Manila Appreciates
It's awesome!
I agree, the production and performances are just stellar.
I only listen to this show for these songs - the parts the crowd plays are a part of the song now for me and it does not feel right unless I hear them chanting or cheering at the right times.
The cheering really makes my heart happy!
My motto is: don't dream your life - live your dreams!
I always wanted to make street music - I do
I always wanted to travel the world with a van - I do
I alwayswanted to see as many Nightwish concerts live as possible - I've seen 4 concerts in the last 8 months alone
I always wanted to see Floor's solo concerts - I saw 3 concerts
I always wanted to be healthy - ok. I have a summer flu ... at this point I just have to get better! 😉
Yoooo I'm so glad to hear this, except for the sick part! I feel like once we get older and realize how short life is...we have to go for it! Thank you so much for sharing
