Thank you Dave for asking Andy if he suffered keto flu etc. I think the negative effects, even if temporary, are just as important to talk about as all the positives of this diet.

But you made a u-turn, got back on the highway, and kept on truckin'. Sorry for the puns haha!
God bless you man, you're a walking miracle!

I'm carnivore most days but sometimes I need my emotional support pasta. Maybe because I'm Italian. I used to think that it was the gluten that caused my IBS-D but when I started the carnivore diet I found out that it was the "healthy vegetables" and whole grains (no self-respecting Italian eats whole grain pasta or bread) that caused all my digestive issues. Pasta for me is fine, as long as it's not whole grain. Good old-fashioned white semolina pasta imported from Italy so it isn't infused with cheap synthetic vitamins that our bodies don't know what to do with and isn't sprayed like it is in North America. This is why a lot of people with gluten sensitivity or even something as serious as Celiac when they go to Italy find that they can eat the pasta and bread there and not have any symptoms and they wonder why. It's because the only ingredients in Italian pasta is Semolina and water, the way real pasta should be. Most people do not have a gluten sensitivity, they have a cheap synthetic vitamin sensitivity and a sensitivity to all the things farmers spray on wheat that they don't in Italy.

      Pasta is whole grain
You are just making statement and convincing yourself.

@@Kudos-o2q White pasta is not whole grain and no, I'm not convincing myself. I have spent YEARS trying different diets, including the carnivore diet, even the strict lion diet, and finally figured out what works for me. If pasta doesn't work for you, don't eat it. But don't tell me that I shouldn't eat it because I'm "convincing myself". Not everyone needs to go full strict carnivore 100% of the time. If you do because your metabolism is irreversibly broken or because you have an autoimmune disease etc, then you go ahead and stick to strict carnivore. Me, I'm going to enjoy a plate of pasta once in a while because I can.

Wow, that was a SERIOUSLY high triglyceride number!!! I am thrilled that you reversed your diabetes, and got off all your meds!
It's beautiful that your transformation has influenced your parents. And at least your son is aware of it so he has knowledge of carnivore in his tool box for the future.

Think again Andy, maybe you need the 3 meals a day and you could have gained some muscle. I wonder if you‘re also exercsing or walking at all in between? Great job on your success until now - you‘ve got this. Remember your WHY so you don‘t slip down that slippery slope. Wow, just wow that you‘ve reversed your diabetes 🥳

Great video! I’ve done daily intermittent fasting for over 2 years, and have reduced my calorie intake drastically. I’ve also gained about 8 pounds, but waist is same in inches. Is this fat weight? I barely lift weights, but on occasion I do. Can someone put on fat weight if they eat practically no carbs or sugar?
