@@KATASTROPHE69SIf your wrists are too weak to start then just do push ups on your knuckles so it doesn't engage any wrist movement. The better you get with your form the less it will hurt your wrists.

Deadhangs (hanging from a bar) is very underrated. Hanging for 60 seconds 3-5 times every day/every other day, and adding weight when bodyweight becomes easy. That will for sure make your grip strength skyrocket + improve shoulder mobility, Health, and decompress the spine! Very underrated exercise, I almost never see anyone do these
"squat not sit" has the same effect for all but grip. back trouble (Thank fully) born of doing everything a man over five eight can do wrong for the lumbar region for decades took i literally off my feet for a few years just as i was turning forty. learned to use a computer finally and binned the 'health services' here and their state funded physios (i saw roughly five if memory serves) allowing i to self diagnose which turned out to be the first thing they should have been looking for and easily tested. i had developed annular pelvic tilt causing i to be nearly completely non ambulatory for a number of years. i could stand roughly three out of every four weeks broken into clusters throughout the month. before finding the problem i had looked for exercises which could help and came across "the five tibetan rites" which is how i recovered, for anyone that may be of interest to, once i knew the problem the rites made perfect sense for how effective they were being whilst i was in agony. all the things over the years i used to do too ease it which had one by one stopped working and the rites were almost instant reset! but yh that's how i know "squat not sit" are words worthy of knowing, birthing Mothers can also testify.

True. But you can't do much bouldering if your grip stregth is weak so it a hige waste of time to go boulding at a climbing gym and then go home 10 minutes later. Its better to hit the weights at home consistently then go bouldering when you can actually climb.

Now, for those looking to make it even harder - hold a barbell on one of your sides meanwhile using your free hand to hold onto a power rack. This will also enforce your lateral abs to stabilize frontal plane. Ed Coan recommends this for grip and core stability for deadlifts.

Sometimes we only want both strength and some aesthetics for a regular person. Just pure strength is not mandatory to live a regular life with a most probable office job or not that strength demanding, neither needs to look like a model or any like that. Just a touch of aesthetics to be confident about your looks and enough strength to carry along any situation.
I use a push broom. I grab the handle with one hand and slide towards the end until I find a spot where I can't hold it in place for longer than 10 seconds. Then I work towards that and then I'll go for 30 seconds. Until I can hold it for a full minute. Move down a few inches and start again.

Warning: I did it Ed Coans way where its at your side. What they don't tell you is how hard it is to keep the bar level. One side kept falling no matter how hard I tried. Its pretty impressive to keep that much weight hanging evenly. You will find huge weak points in your grip.
Just get yourself a good piece of wood (square / round ~50 cm), rope (~ 1.5m) & 2 bricks. Tie the bricks together with the rope and to the wood (should have like 1m of rope ledft). Then you just hold the wooden piece with both hands, raise it to chest / shoulder height and keep turning it until the bricks rise to the top. Then slowly do reverse movement. You can turn it in both directions and adjust the central position of rope to make it harder
this is actually very similar to what climbers do. I think it's more common to see hangboarding (hanging from fingers). But we also have what's called a crimp block or a pinch that we pick up from the ground with weight, which can be repped but can also just hold like in this video with the barbell. More of a finger workout than a stability routine, but obviously sport specific.
Very good tips. The thing we have to remember is the more muscle mass you gain, the stronger you get. The stronger you get, the more muscle mass you gain. Can’t remember which genius on UA-cam told me that, but he is one. Doing those hypertrophy exercises the young man is doing is adding more forearm muscle, but also some strength. You then do those heavy holds like the video creator suggested to train those muscles to deal with heavier weight. This is why isolation lifts AND heavy or more compound lifts naturally go together. Sometimes you see really skinny or over weight guys who are super strong, that’s because they don’t care about hypertrophy, they might just power lift or do compound lifts and don’t care about a body builder look. Conversely, some muscular guys prioritize a bodybuilder look over strength. Although, you can bet money that they are actually indeed strong. No hate, people have preferences, they’ll do what they consider to be best for them and their lifestyle and outlook. I say, why not have the best of both worlds?

I noticed that there is in fact carry over from the first exercises into other exercises where grip is needed. Either way you are strengthening wrist stability, grip strength, and forearm strength so you don't necessarily have to only do the sports specific exercises instead of the hypertrophy driven exercises. This is an area where you can indeed have the best of both worlds.
A good way to develop detail is figure eights with heavy nunchucks. Hold opposite from the cord, all the way at end. Alternating between fast paced movements with a stiff wrist and gentle eights with wrist movements. It hurts.
I've been climbing for fun my whole life. Not only do I have very high grip strength, but my muscles also don't atrophy. I haven't climbed once in 9 months now, and there isn't a noticable change in my grip strength. Before 9 months ago, it was 3 months since last time, before that another 7.

Never skip Pronation for a massive forearm and a great useful muscle you use regularly for tasks like opening doors, using a screwdriver hand tightening a car wheel nut to a torque spec, you know that kind of stuff. Train it, you use it!

Either way you are strengthening wrist stability, grip strength, and forearm strength so you don't necessarily have to only do the sports specific exercises instead of the hypertrophy driven exercises. This is an area where you can indeed have the best of both worlds.

The guy at beginning is training for size and functional forearm strength while what you are describing is supporting grip strength for lifts.

A good way to develop detail is figure eights with heavy nunchucks. Hold opposite from the cord, all the way at end. Alternating between fast paced movements with a stiff wrist and gentle eights with wrist movements.

I've been climbing for fun my whole life. Not only do I have very high grip strength, but my muscles also don't atrophy. I haven't climbed once in 9 months now, and there isn't a noticable change in my grip strength. Before 9 months ago, it was 3 months since last time, before that another 7.

This is the classic argument of strength vs hypertrophy. I was doing deadlifts and farmer carries for year and my forearms never grew. Started flexor workouts a month ago and they've exploded
If he incorporated some armwrestling exercises, he'd be a beast.
My buddy started doing those when he was 12-13, and by the time he was 18, he had the thickest arms I've ever seen.

Never skip Pronation for a massive forearm and a great useful muscle you use regularly for tasks like opening doors, using a screwdriver hand tightening a car wheel nut to a torque spec, you know that kind of stuff.
