I bought my King Korg used from a studio that was upgrading to new synths a few months ago for a sweet low price. The owner said he was sad to see it go, but I guess studios need to stay current. I love it.
A Million Orange Dolphins I just got this on Friday and can't find any of these at all. This video was a big reason I got it. If you know how I can find that Blue Phaser let me know please🙏🙏 It might be a sound you made though. I can't find it anywhere. I can't find any of these sounds. If you don't want to write back on here you can Email me at perlukeeric@gmail.com. I really need help figuring this out. I'm a piano player and just started playing synth a week ago so I'm a virgin when it comes to synths. That blue phaser sound is incredible man. If you made that then good on you. Let me know if there's a possibility if I can find these sounds in my KingKorg. Thank you.
Thank you! Yes, I usually end up with some analogue "type" of sound, so it doesn't suprise me if you think so! (Even thogh I've never owned a PE1000 unfortunately).
Truly appreciate this effort OD. I am wondering about the KK and have been considering buying it since it got out. But all I was seeing is factory crap (not what *I* would do with it). So, KUDOS for doing this! Gives us a nice color of the KK.
Its pretty easy to do own sounds unlike other synth like Prophet 8 or 12. You can do all synth based sounds from 80s and early 90s. Also it comes with triton le piano and wheel organ samples, you can program own drawbar combos for wheel organs. Only disadvantage for me is no build drums. KingKorg sounds amazing, much better sound compared to other synthetizators, sound is very smooth. There are just 100 user presets but you can overwrite factory sounds and use librarian software. Bookmarks are very nice for live playing, joystick is good - better then wheels on other synths. I really like it, i just hope that next version will come with drums and sequencer.
Great demo. I badly want a King Korg. I was going to buy a King Korg a few months ago, but I needed a mixing board a lot more than another synth. So I ended up getting a Presonus StudioLive 16, & a little Microkorg. (cool little synth) I will eventually get a King Korg. It's only a matter of time & money. :-)
@@holygeneration7 The thing about the improved keybed seems to remain a kind of myth nowadays. Maybe we will never know for sure. Your story sounds a little bit as a horror story to me. Selling you KK after only 1 week of use? Did you try editing with one of the software editors? I understand that it is more a performance synth and not really designed for creating your own patches,. But then again: with some help of an editor, it is still possible. And most importantly: didn´t you just love the sound? I mean, this VA can measure itself with u-he Diva, don´t you think? Anyway, I get my KK coming in next week and really hope it is a stayer, not a leaver, but only time can tell. By the way, I can understand that you like the MS-2000: great user interface, indeed!
Hi there! Great sounds! Can you share them Milion Orange Dolphins? Would be great if it's possible. With the KK Sound Librarian it's easy to save. Thanks! Best regards John
Only problem is I don't really have a place where I can upload the file for downloading, otherwise I would. In any case, I strongly suggest making your own sounds - as a general rule I delete all included presets in new synths (or edit them heavily). This forces me both to learn the synth and to make original sounds!
I am wondering if I sould get this keyboard after watching this video. I can't say there is much I like so far. Need more organic sounds! Lush synth pads. I want to do world ambient but have a keyboard I can carry around to practice with.
These are beautiful! Great work. Love to have those...is there a way to share patches & settings? We need a KingKorg community. I really love the Muted Brass and the Rotary Pad. I'm really enjoying my KK. I wish I had more time to tweak with it and create my own. My only issues I'm facing is trying to get my monotribe & other analog gear to control it as I'm sorta new to the CV Gate world of modular, etc...Still no luck with any of that. If you have any tips or advice please pass along...thanks for the video
Thank you for listening, and please excuse my late answer! Unfortunately these patches can not be downloaded at this time. As for a community, I actually think there is some kind of King Korg forum at Korgs website. Also I'm unsure about if the KK accepts control CV etc, I think it only is sending, not receiving.
Hi Luis. No unfortunately, these are not commercial pathes. And even worse, I don't have the files anymore. If I did I would gladly have given them to you!
Thank you for listening, I am glad you liked it! Unfortunately the patches does not exist anymore. My KK had a serious break down some years ago, before I hade taken the chance to make backup files.
Hi Stryker, I’ve been using synths for decades and just purchased a black KK if that tells anything about quality of sound and use. Incredible “ go to “.
@@thelantern9075 In fact I sold it a few years ago. It's a highly underestimated synth though. The 3 fold effects part and the vacuum tube is superb. They should have added that setup to the Prologues I think.
+A Million Orange Dolphins thank you for the reply. You got it sounding great and im saving for a king korg. Can i ask what mixer you used because the pre amps is what im interested in. Also how long you been into synths. I got a Fantom G but its not warm at all but its very flexible.
+beakf1 No problem. The mixer was a simple Behringer Xenyx x2222 usb. The time I've been into synths? - Is since about 1985 when my father bought me a Korg Trident from a friend of his. I played drums as a kid and had a beautiful blue metallic Pearl set with purple skins, in time I sold it and bought a drummachine from Roland (regret that dearly though).
+A Million Orange Dolphins Nice. I will be running it though a focusrite 6i6. Just good to know good sound is achievable. I like the sound of this synth better than some analogs ive heard. Want to get a prophet 6 too.
Hey, there. First of all, I'm of course quite grateful for the lovely feedback. Thank you! About the patches - I honestly don't know if I have them anymore. The KK just came back from service and at arrival it was all reset. Not quite sure if I have saved those patches or not, unfortunately.
Gur Eidens I'm an analogue guy my self, I bought it to use as a master keyboard, but the effects part in it, and the selection of filters, and the tube does really make it an excellent instrument. As far as virtual analogues go I'd say it's worth it. Especially if you find one second hand - I'ts a little bit over priced from the factor (I think). I makes great sounds.
Oke thanks Million Orange Dolphins, I thought that you would share, by presenting your sounds on UA-cam. If you change your mind, the file is only about 140Kb, so you can send it by email.
Sounds good, apart from the reverb that is, which sounds like a five dollar reverb. Easy to fix, just dont use it. Synth itself sounds valid and interesting, like access virus it appears high frequency content has been cut back to help avoid aliasing problems.
Your teaching me what means a lot to me.
Great mood electronic music.
I've loved it since 1970 days of ELP.

Hi, I really want to thank you because you made impresive sounds on it!!!!
Thank you for your kind words! I am gld you enjoyed what I did.
Excellent demo of the best VA on the market.
Powerful sound..
Can't even begin to imagine how much it costs
but this is one gorgeous machine!
blue phaser patch i could here clockwork orange theme in my head :)
:) I can't sayreally if that's bad or good, but thank you!

Underrated synth, and you did a great demo of it's sounds. Best of all? NO TALKING! I'm subscribing.
+ShadowKast Muzik Thank you!
Glad you didn’t do the typical sound examples. This shows me what else it can do.
Glad you liked it! Thank you for listening!
Very nice sounds - the Kingkorg always entices me, but it sounds so "dancy"...now with this you can hear retro-analog sounds...

For some reason the tube won't allow me to answer your post Zach. The patch uses Dual saw on one oscillator and a simple saw on one.

Prog #55, the analog bass, what sound wave is that? Square, sine, saw, triangle, etc?
Some very Jarre sounds there!
Thank you?! Unavoidable probably :)
I would extrapolate by saying:
If Jarre took a KK today and made sounds for it, many of yours would sound like that.
:) Thank you very much. I take that as a very positive feedback! Needless to say I'm also a big fan of Jarre himself.

Yes! You can download it directly from the KingKorg page at KORGs homepage. It's very easy to use. Good luck!

Brilliant! Thanks for the info, best wishes,
jexus needs one
i know right? Best damn synth demos on the web.
Nope.
Would you ever consider posting your patches somewhere?
Mark Sottilaro Quite honestly, I wouldn't mind sharing per se, but I don't relly have the energy to upload them somewhere. :)
Very nice sounds. Are these available for download?

Very Nice, but do the keyboard have flute
AJ Vinothan Records I'm sure you ca squeeze a flute-sound out of it if you want. Of course, you could also use a flute to make flute sounds ;)
it even has a mellotron flute pcm sample
King Korg or the Sledge 2.0?
I've never tried the Sledge unfortunately, so I can't help you there. Sorry.

I use a mixer with a built in sound card, and the Cubase on the computer.
ok!! thanks
it has drums? beat? loops?
No, no and no :) But it has an 8-step-arpeggiator from which you can get some very nice rhythms with some smart programming.
